SHJOCC launches in-house license plate printing facility
The new facility marks a significant step forward in the club's ongoing innovative initiatives as it enables members and visitors to complete all traffic-related procedures from vehicle inspection, registration, fee payment, and license plate issuance on-site, eliminating the need to visit external traffic departments. With this integrated model, clients can now receive a full suite of services in ten minutes, significantly reducing processing times. This initiative is part of the club's Strategic Plan 2024–2028, which focuses on key pillars such as enhancing the member experience through the Sharjah Customer Experience Program, digitizing services, building sustainable and integrated partnerships, empowering national talent, and preserving vintage car heritage. The plan also supports the club's broader goals of achieving institutional excellence in the sports sector, strengthening brand identity, and encouraging an innovative environment that promotes community culture. Reflection of the Club's commitment to service development Dr Ali Ahmed Abu Alzoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Old Cars Club, commented:'The launch of the license plate printing facility at the club is a strategic move that enhances institutional excellence and reflects our commitment to offering comprehensive and seamless services. Dibba Al Hisn Club concludes 'I am Athletic' week
Competitive spirit and family involvement The closing day featured a children's and juniors' running race on the canal's rubber track, cheered on by families. Winners in the junior category included Saeed Al Wotri in first place, followed by Abdulla Al Saadi and Hamdan Al Qani. In the younger group, Abdulla Al Tunaiji claimed first place. Parents were also honoured for supporting their children. Educational and cultural highlights A Quranic workshop titled 'With my recitation, I elevate my life' was held in cooperation with the Islamic Affairs Authority, led by Sheikh Mohammed Oglad, focusing on tajweed and the spiritual impact of Quranic recitation. Creative expression and youth guidance The programme also featured creative decoupage workshops with Sharjah Old Cars Club, led by Mariam Al Basous and Manal Al Balushi, as well as a motivational lecture by Sheikh Mahmoud Al Sayed on the social responsibilities of youth. Praise from club leadership His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Tarban, Chairman of Dibba Al Hisn Football Club, commended the event's balance of physical activity and cultural depth. Organising committee head Ahmed Al Qusib praised the strong community engagement and expressed hopes for further innovation in future editions.

This recognition confirms the club's position as one of the most prominent specialised clubs in the emirate and an inspiring model of institutional work and community engagement. Four distinguished awards The club won the "Best Pioneering Club" award among specialised clubs, an achievement that reflects its excellence in innovation and sustainable management of programmes and events specialised in the world of classic cars. On the individual level, Ahmed Saif Bin Hanzel Al Tamimi was awarded the "Best Executive Director in Specialised Clubs" award for his effective management and development initiatives. Hoda Thani received the "Best Corporate Communications Officer in Specialised Clubs" award in recognition of her vital role in building the club's professional media image. Aisha Yousef Al Qassab won the "Best Community Culture Officer in Specialised Clubs" award for her contributions to enhancing the club's role as a cultural and heritage centre that interacts with the community. An Integrated System of Excellence Commenting on this achievement, Dr. Ali Ahmed Abu Al Zoud, Chairman of the Sharjah Old Cars Club, said that the recognition reflects the club's belief that excellence can only be achieved through an integrated system where investment in human capital, development of institutional performance, and strengthening ties with the community are essential pillars. Expanding the club's footprint Al Zoud adde that the club is proud to see its members at the forefront, and believes that this new phase of excellence requires working to develop programmes and expand the club's impact locally and internationally, in a manner befitting the Emirate of Sharjah and its position in various sectors. The Sharjah Sports Excellence Leadership Programme is a strategic platform launched by the Sharjah Sports Council in April 2024. It aims to raise the level of sports culture in the emirate using scientific and systematic methods based on precise national and international standards. The programme is based on a vision to enhance investment in sports talent, support sustainable institutional performance, and stimulate local and international partnerships, directly contributing to improving quality of life and advancing the sports ecosystem in Sharjah.

1977 Porsche 911 Carrera G: A timeless sports masterpiece As a highlight of its efforts to promote the Sharjah Classic Cars Museum, the club presented a rare 1977 Porsche 911 Carrera G, captivating visitors with its exquisite design and powerful engineering. Limited to just 3,687 units worldwide, this classic sports car boasts a top speed of 230 km/h and features reinforced bumpers that meet American safety standards. Its unique blend of elegance and performance continues to make it a prized possession among vintage car collectors across the globe. Expanding global collaborations in classic car tourism During its participation at ITB Berlin, the club actively engaged with key players in the classic car industry, fostering discussions on knowledge exchange and collaborative opportunities. This engagement not only strengthened Sharjah's presence in the vintage automobile sector but also positioned the emirate as a cultural tourism hub that appeals to classic car enthusiasts from Europe, particularly Germany. Promoting Sharjah's largest vintage car festival In addition to its exhibition, the club showcased one of its most prestigious events, the Sharjah Classic Cars Festival, the region's premier gathering for classic automobile enthusiasts. The most recent edition, held in February, featured over 400 vintage cars from various eras and countries, offering visitors a range of experiences, including exhibitions, interactive displays, competitions, panel discussions, and exclusive awards recognising the finest classic vehicles. Germany's automotive legacy and its global influence Saeed Ali Al Matroushi, board member of Sharjah Old Cars Club, highlighted Germany's pioneering contributions to the global automotive industry. He noted that while many iconic German car models originated in local factories, they have since gained worldwide recognition, becoming coveted collector's items in countries like the UAE. Al Matroushi also emphasised that the club's participation at ITB Berlin served as an opportunity to establish meaningful connections with manufacturers, historians, and classic car enthusiasts who share a passion for preserving the legacy of these exceptional automobiles.
