Sharjah Futsal League: celebrating excellence and sportsmanship
347 members from eight centres This year's event was held under the slogan "Sportsmanship and Fair Play," with the participation of 347 members from its eight centres spread across the Emirate of Sharjah, including its various cities and central and eastern regions. Great gathering The ceremony was held at the Wasit Youth Centre Theatre in Sharjah City, in the presence of Dr Abdulrahman Al Yassi, Director of Sharjah Youth; Dr Abdullah Al Shehhi, Technical Director of Futsal Referees at the UAE Football Association; a number of media representatives and online news channels; officials from Sharjah Youth Centres; and members of the working teams, referees, and coaches. Continuous youth support The ceremony highlighted a four-month sporting journey, embodying the vision of the Rubu' Qarn, supporting youth and providing a safe and stimulating competitive environment that contributes to honing talents and enhancing sporting values among participants, preparing them for a promising sporting future at the local and international levels. The ceremony began with the UAE national anthem, followed by a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by member Ibrahim Khalifa Al Suwaidi. This was followed by a welcoming speech by member Issa Abdullah Al Mazmi, in which he expressed the Foundation's appreciation to everyone who supported this success. Successful journey Attendees watched a short film documenting the league's most prominent milestones, capturing hundreds of hours of intensive training and competitive matches, from moments of challenge to team spirit and discipline on the field, all the way to victory and ascent to the podium. This film embodied the advanced technical level and sportsmanship that pervaded the tournament atmosphere. Recognition The ceremony concluded with an honoring ceremony for the referees' management at the UAE Football Association, in recognition of their professional role in managing matches, which contributed to enhancing players' adherence to the rules and guiding them to proper conduct on the field, reflecting the league's educational and sporting objectives. The ceremony also included media representatives, news websites, and electronic media platforms for their media support in highlighting the league's activities, documenting its moments, and conveying a true, bright image. This reflected the magnitude of the effort and organisation, contributed to entrenching the event in the community's consciousness, and promoted the noble values of sport among young people. Members of the league's organising committee and the cooperative employees from Sharjah Youth were also honoured in recognition of their efforts in organising and monitoring the tournament, along with the participating centers and their teams of referees and coaches. It is worth noting that the Sharjah Youth Futsal League is not just a sports tournament; rather, it is an integrated development project that embodies Sharjah Youth's vision of preparing generations who possess awareness, values, and skills, in a continuous process of building the leaders of the future.

Sharjah Youth: Igniting Innovation in the Skills Lab
5 Sharjah Centres The lab is organised in five of its centres across the Emirate of Sharjah: Wasit Youth, Khorfakkan Youth, Kalba Youth, Dibba Al Hisn Youth, and Mleiha Youth. The programme is organised under the umbrella of the Central Region Centres, under the slogan "Where Skill Meets Fun." The programme is a parallel programme to the 'Let's Summer' 2025 activities. Exploring Youth Potential Through the lab, Sharjah Youth provides its members with an ideal opportunity to develop their skills and explore their potential in an inspiring, interactive environment. The programme embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, regarding the importance of building human capital and investing in their capabilities. The lab's activities will extend until the 31st of the same month. Making the Most of The Summer Vacation Abdul Hamid Al Yasi, Director of the lab, emphasised the importance of developing human capital and investing in human capital. The Youth Care Department at Sharjah Youth Foundation stated that the Skills Lab is an exceptional opportunity to make the most of the summer vacation through a unique package of programmes delivered in a safe environment. These programmes are designed according to a professional approach that contributes to developing, discovering, and supporting the talents and skills of participants, guiding them toward excellence. Going Beyond Traditional Summer Programmes Al Yassi pointed out that this year's Lab offers participants a rich and unique summer experience that goes beyond traditional summer programmes, blending practical creativity with applied knowledge. The focus has been on innovation and diversification in offering more than 100 specialised programmes, falling within eleven themes that address the interests of young people and open up new horizons for expression and innovation. It also instils a set of institutional values in participants, most notably inclusion, through surveying their opinions to ensure the provision of programmes that align with their aspirations, while ensuring positive impact and sustainability. 550 Participants on the First Day On its first day, the lab saw a remarkable turnout of more than 550 participants from Sharjah Youth, the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy (SPSA), the Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, and the Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation. This reflects Sharjah's commitment to strengthening community partnerships and constructive interaction with local community bodies, institutions, and departments in the Emirate of Sharjah, serving the interests of future generations. This supports the vision of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, "A community partner in building and empowering informed and influential generations." 100 Specialised Programmes Across Eleven Themes The Skills Lab's programmes vary, covering artistic, technical, professional, craft, media, and musical creativity. Participants in the Fine Arts Lab embark on a visual journey through programmes and workshops on the art of pottery, carpets, resin, and cement, where fine details are embodied in handcrafted works that reflect their artistic taste. Screen and lens enthusiasts will find their favorite activities in the Cinematic Arts Lab, which offers a Cinematic Makeup Workshop, teaching the art of visual transformation and creative characterisation. It also covers photography, lighting, editing, technical processes, scripting, and directing. Meanwhile, the Modern Media Lab takes participants on a visual adventure with the Parallel World Lens Workshop, where the world is explored through the lens of a young woman brimming with artistic flair and visual storytelling. Behind the microphone, the Youth Studio Lab allows participants to experience podcasting and discover the power of sound to influence and create content. The Lab's organizers have not overlooked the modern heritage aspect, as the Islamic Civilization Arts Lab hosts a three-dimensional crafts workshop, which revives the aesthetic values of civilization with contemporary touches, in addition to the art of Ebru and letter weaving. The Lab also touches on the spirit of craftsmanship and life skills through the Vocational Lab, which includes programmes such as the Youth Chef, carpentry, and home maintenance, giving participants confidence and self-reliance in everyday life. The Technical Lab transports participants to the world of sustainability through a solar energy program that enhances their environmental awareness. For those who love smart innovation, the Smart Room workshop offers an exciting introduction to the world of smart homes. The Skills Lab, in collaboration with Rubu' Qarn's specialised centres, offers programmes in science and technology, theatre and performing arts, life skills, and music. These programmes include 3D printing in motion, LEGO robotics, and electrical wiring. Furthermore, the programme offers theatre programmes that range from self-discovery to the art of imagination and improvisation. The program also helps participants learn to play musical instruments such as the guitar, piano, and saxophone. With this richness and diversity, the Skills Lab affirms Sharjah Youth's commitment to empowering future generations and honing their skills by providing memorable experiences that contribute to building a well-rounded personality capable of interacting positively with the world around them.

Rubu' Qarn theatre centre launches summer creativity camp
Fostering skills through performing arts The camp, which focuses on a broad range of performing arts, aims to develop participants' creative and cognitive abilities in areas such as puppetry, mime, movement performance, character building, leadership, and technical theatre. Beyond skill-building, it encourages imaginative thinking and cultivates artistic expression aligned with the cultural vision of Sharjah. Creative engagement during summer break Coinciding with the summer holidays, the camp is designed to fill students' free time with enriching activities that promote self-confidence, Arabic language proficiency, teamwork, and the ability to translate written scripts into powerful performances filled with emotion and values. The programme also sheds light on heritage and social themes, fostering responsibility and cultural identity among youth. Camp schedule and expert mentorship The Imagination and Creativity Camp begins on 7 July, with orientation sessions and group assignments running until 10 July. The first phase of the camp will take place from 15 July to the end of the month, and the second phase will run from 3 to 18 August. Participants will be mentored by a distinguished group of professionals including Abdullah Al-Turkamani, Khaled Bouzid, and Mazen Al-Gharbawi. Immersive learning environments across Sharjah Participants will explore various disciplines at different venues. At the Rubu' Qarn Centre in Al Zahia City Centre, they will delve into mime, expressive movement, leadership, and character development. Meanwhile, at the Puppetry Arts Centre, youth will bring cultural and symbolic themes to life through performances and hands-on workshops under the supervision of local and regional experts. Additionally, Sharjah Children's Centres, Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, and Sharjah Youth will host parallel workshops and performances as part of the broader 'Your Summer With Us' initiative organised by the Rubu' Qarn institutions. Advanced theatre training and regional expansion According to Dr Adnan Salloum, performing arts expert at Rubu' Qarn, the camp represents an advanced stage of theatrical training targeting participants who have surpassed their foundational levels. He noted that this year, the camp will also extend to the Central Region of Sharjah under the locally inspired theme 'Stories on the Sands of the Central Region'. The goal is to reach more participants across the emirate and provide a comprehensive, imaginative theatre education experience. Celebrating talent and innovation This year's objectives include highlighting exceptional talents among the targeted age groups and presenting diverse, high-quality theatrical performances using modern techniques. The Imagination and Creativity Camp offers a rich artistic journey, designed to sharpen participants' abilities, fuel their imagination, and foster creative excellence—making it a vital contribution to shaping the theatre of the future.

Abdul Hamid Al Yasi: Sharjah Youth launches "Skills Lab" prog
Al Yasi stated that the Skills Lab programme includes over 100 diverse activities from July 7 to 24, except for Al Waseet center, where activities will conclude on July 31. He noted that the events will be distributed across the cities and regions of Sharjah, including Al Waseet, Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, and Mleiha. The programme aims to provide participants with opportunities to benefit from these activities and discover and develop their skills. He encouraged all youth to join the programme either by registering directly at the centers or through Sharjah Youth's social media channels. The programme includes a Professional Skills Lab, Visual Arts Lab, Science and Technology Lab, Film Arts Lab, Youth Studio, Sports Activities Lab, Creative Crafts and Industries Lab, among other diverse programmes.

70 members of ‘Our Holiday is Different' partake in ‘Skills Lab'
From July 7 to 31, the participants will enjoy eight different workshops covering a variety of topics. These include hands-on skills, fine arts, Islamic art, modern media, and even science and technology. Issa Bin Rukn, who is a Board Member of Al Hamriyah Club and leads the Cultural and Community Committee, expressed gratitude to Sharjah Youth for their collaboration. He highlighted how such partnerships help enrich the experiences of the participants and support their skill development. Bin Rukn also noted that the organizing committee focused on connecting with reputable institutions to create engaging and meaningful summer programs that meet the interests of the participants and expand their knowledge.
