These Y&R Pets Just Upstaged Their Famous Owners—and We Can't Stop Watching
Most of The Young and the Restless cast are pet owners. The stars of the soap opera often show off their furry companions on social media. Now, the dogs and cats of many Y&R stars are featured in a new, adorable video. The pets of Y&R stars have become just as famous as their owners. With their moms and dads showing them off on social media, fans have gotten to know these adorable pups and kittens. And it appears that these pets might be trying to take their parents' job. The Y&R Insider YouTube channel posted a video with many of the cast's pets recreating the show's iconic opening credits. Sharon Case (Sharon), Tracey Bregman (Lauren), Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki), Mark Grossman (Adam), and Joshua Morrow (Nick) are a few of the stars whose dogs and cats are in the video. The pets prove they're just as talented as their parents as they strike a pose while the Y&R theme plays. As the animals are introduced, a caption underneath has them playing their owner's iconic role. WATCH THIS: Check out Soap Hub's new podcast, Soap Hub Says here! The video has already gotten over 4,000 views since Tuesday and fans can't get enough of the cuteness. 'Very cute…hope your cast members liked video too,' commented one fan. 'This is too funny!' one viewer wrote. 'That was so cute…Adorable!' declared another fan. These adorable pets definitely stole the show and upstaged their famous owners. Nominations for the Daytime Emmys in eight categories were announced on Wednesday evening: Best Drama Series, Best Drama Actress, Best Drama Actor, Best Culinary Instructional Series, Best Talk Series, Best Travel and Adventure Program, Best Instructional and How-To Program, and Best Lifestyle Program. The remaining nominations for the 52nd annual ceremony will be announced Thursday at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m. ET. The Daytime Emmys ceremony will take place Oct. 17 in Pasadena, Calif. More from Gold Derby 2025 Humanitas Prize nominations: 'The Pitt,' 'The Studio,' and 'The Last of Us' among those honored for exceptional storytelling Why buzzy new soap 'Beyond the Gates' isn't eligible at the 2025 Daytime Emmys, how the number of contenders is determined, and more burning questions answered The Best Drama Series category is back to just three nominees — Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and the Restless — after last year's record-tying six contenders vied for the top prize. As Gold Derby previously reported, buzzy new soap opera Beyond the Gates was not eligible this year but will contend at the 2026 kudos. The six-person lineup for Best Drama Actress includes four from The Young and the Restless — Sharon Case, Eileen Davidson, Melissa Claire Egan, and Michelle Stafford — plus Nancy Lee Grahn and Laura Wright from General Hospital. The five Best Drama Actor nominees hail from all three nominated soaps: Days of Our Lives' Eric Martsolf, Greg Rikaart, and Paul Telfer; The Young and the Restless' Peter Bergman; and General Hospital's Dominic Zamprogna. Several new categories were introduced this year: Best Emerging Talent (see the specific criteria), Best Regional Content in a Daytime Genre, Best Culinary Instructional Series, Best Culinary Cultural Series, Best Travel and Adventure Program, and Best Nature and Science Program. Note that the two culinary categories replace the former Best Culinary Series contest, and the two categories for travel/adventure and nature/science replace the former Best Travel, Nature, and Adventure race. At the same time NATAS welcomed new categories to the awards show, the organization said goodbye to Best Original Song and Best Educational and Informational Program.
