21-year-old man killed after pickup truck veers off road near Farmington, hits trees
Delaware State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that killed a 21-year-old man early July 6 near Farmington.
Around 1 a.m., a GMC Sierra pickup truck was headed south on Shawnee Road, just south of Breezy Meadow Lane, at an apparent high rate of speed, police said. The driver veered off the east side of the road, hitting a tree with the truck's rear left side, then crashed head-on with a second tree, according to police.
The driver, a Greenwood man, was not properly restrained and pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He will be identified after his family is notified.
