Al Hamriyah Municipality launches 7 specialised activities
Annual Community Participation The annual participation of Al Hamriyah Municipality comes as part of its distinguished contribution to "Sharjah Sports Summer," held under the slogan "Our Holiday is Different," organised by Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and supervised by the Sharjah Sports Council, running from June 30 to July 31. Interactive Environmental Workshop This year's summer program kicked off with an interactive environmental workshop called "Together We Protect Our Marine Environment." The session aimed to educate children about the importance of preserving marine life and the threats posed by plastic waste to marine creatures and the overall ecosystem. Creative Awareness Activities The workshop was led by a team from the municipality's Public Relations Department, including Asma Al Muhairi, Sheikha Al Shamsi, and Reem Al Muhairi. It included interactive content and engaging activities using recycled materials, such as plastic bottle caps. This approach effectively conveyed environmental messages in a fun and practical manner, while also promoting creativity and awareness among participants. Strengthening Community Engagement His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasised that summer activities have become a vital component of the municipality's community agenda, noting their significant role in enhancing youth awareness and ensuring meaningful and enjoyable use of time during the summer break. He highlighted that teams across all departments collaborated to create and implement comprehensive programs that align with community aspirations, adapt to developmental changes, and instill values of innovation, creativity, and a sense of environmental and social belonging in children. Vision for Future Generations Al Shamsi underscored that the Municipality's program embodies its vision for community and developmental work, focusing on building a conscious generation equipped with the tools and skills necessary for active societal participation. He also commended the productive cooperation with Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club and the Sharjah Sports Council, affirming the municipality's commitment to supporting community and student programs. Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of strengthening partnerships with various entities in Sharjah to fulfill community development goals and maximize the benefits of the summer holiday for the region's youth.

Sajaya Young Ladies to launch summer programme on July 5
Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, one of the entities under Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, has announced the launch of its summer programme 'Summer with Us,' which will run from July 5 to August 2, 2025. The programme targets over 700 girls from across various cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah. This year's programme promises a rich and diverse experience that blends entertainment with learning through a variety of specialised workshops and tracks. These include arts, sports, technology, cooking, life skills, and entrepreneurship, alongside sports camps and competitive contests. Sheikha Al Shamsi, Director of Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, said, 'At Sajaya, we believe in the importance of investing the summer break in building skills and nurturing talents. The summer programme reflects our vision of empowering girls through inspiring experiences that shape their character, enrich their awareness, and enhance their creative and social abilities within a safe and motivating environment. This year, we have designed a comprehensive programme that responds to the interests of girls and gives them space to express their passions in their own unique way.' The summer programme will be held at Sajaya centres located across the Emirate of Sharjah, covering a wide geographical area that includes Sharjah city, Kalba, Khorfakkan, Al Dhaid, Mleiha, Al Kharous, Al Madam, and Al Thamid. This highlights the organisation's commitment to making its programmes accessible to girls across the emirate. Activities will be conducted in collaboration with several partner institutions, including Sharjah Ladies Club in Al Dhaid and Al Madam, the Children's Centre in Dibba Al Hisn, and studios in Al Hamriyah in partnership with the Sharjah Art Foundation, providing a well-rounded and varied experience. The programme also features participation by girls from the 'Friends of the Police' initiative in an interactive experience aimed at empowering participants and enhancing their leadership and social skills in an engaging and educational environment. Additionally, the programme will include dedicated market stalls where participants can showcase and sell their projects and products, fostering a spirit of initiative and economic empowerment. The programme is supported by a number of strategic partners, including Sharjah Police and the Sharjah Sports Council, which are helping to provide transportation services to ensure a safe and smooth attendance for all participants. Recently, the inaugural session of the 'Gulf Bridges – Gulf Youth Leadership Programme,' organised by Sharjah Children and Sajaya Young Ladies of Sharjah, both part of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, welcomed 40 young participants representing youth delegations from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. In a recorded message for the occasion, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation, extended a warm welcome to the participants in Sharjah, an emirate renowned for its commitment to human development and the cultivation of thought and culture, aimed at inspiring future generations. Sheikha Jawaher stated, 'Your gathering today is more than just a meeting; it is a reunion that embodies the authentic values uniting our Gulf peoples and reinforces the bonds of brotherhood that strengthen our collective power. If the only outcome of this gathering is the establishment of strong fraternal relationships, that alone is a testament to the success of your meeting in achieving its goals and aspirations.' The opening ceremony took place at the Holy Quran Academy in Sharjah and was attended by distinguished leaders and heads of local and Emirati community authorities. Additionally, it fosters self-discipline and etiquette through cultural workshops like 'Secrets of Japanese Cuisine' and 'A Week in Korea', allowing participants to explore new cultures and gain valuable life skills. Artistic and creative development The programme also includes artistic workshops such as oil painting, sewing and design, and crafts, providing girls with hands-on experiences that nurture their artistic sensibilities and expand their creative horizons.
