Umm Al Emarat Park and Tadweer Group Announce 'Cap Your Way to Sustainability' Initiative - Middle East Business News and Information
Calling on the Abu Dhabi community to collect Bottle Caps, the initiative showcases the measurable impact of eco-conscious habits. These contributions will form part of a wider community activation to be revealed towards the end of the year. Abu Dhabi,July 2025: Umm Al Emarat Park, in partnership with Tadweer Group has launched the six-month 'Cap Your Way to Sustainability' campaign, encouraging community members to donate used bottle caps. This initiative highlights how small, consistent actions can lead to meaningful environmental change. The Park will serve as a central drop-off point for the campaign, along with multiple other locations including Umm Al Emarat Park main gate, Totó restaurant Saadiyat Island, Al Raha Beach C2 Tower – managed by AVISON YOUNG PROPERTY SERVICES MENA and three mobile collection boxes managed by Tadweer Group across schools and community events in Abu Dhabi and the Western Region. Visitors are encouraged to donate their collected bottle caps throughout the campaign period. These contributions will form part of a wider community activation to be revealed towards the end of the year, one that celebrates the efforts of every participant while capturing the measurable impact of this campaign. Earlier this year, Umm Al Emarat Park and Tadweer Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote environmental awareness and empower the Abu Dhabi community to adopt sustainable practices through joint educational initiatives and enhanced waste management services. Additionally, Umm Al Emarat Park hosted 2 of the 25 Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) that Tadweer Group has installed across Abu Dhabi. These machines allow the public to deposit empty plastic bottles and aluminum cans in exchange for rewards through the Tadweer Rewards app. Furthermore, the park also hosts regular workshops to promote sustainable practices in partnership with Tadweer Group. Most recently, it hosted 'Naq'a' event, which engaged visitors of all ages through interactive recycling activities, insightful workshops, and creative games and surprises. The UAE has reaffirmed its strong commitment to women's empowerment and gender equality during the 2025 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development in New York. Speaking at the UN gathering, the UAE delegation showcased the country's model of inclusive development—built on empowering women, supporting families and driving progress through equality in education, work, and leadership. The delegation highlighted national milestones, including equal pay legislation, constitutional protections for gender equality, and the rising number of women in leadership—now making up 50 per cent of the Federal National Council and 26 per cent of Cabinet positions. Women also account for nearly half of STEM graduates and 80 per cent of the scientific team behind the Emirates Mars Mission. The UAE also emphasised its global efforts, including programmes like Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's Women in Peace and Security Initiative, offering its experience to help accelerate gender progress worldwide. On the sidelines of the forum, the UAE Consulate and National SDG Secretariat hosted a roundtable focused on innovation in promoting gender equality beyond 2030. The event tackled the digital gender divide, care economy reforms, and boosting women in leadership—with voices from international experts, including ministers, UN leaders and private sector figures. Officials stressed that empowering communities, especially women and families, remains both the foundation and future of sustainable development.

This includes the Equal Pay Law, and the Constitution, which guarantees equal opportunities for both delegation highlighted several milestones, including the fact that women now represent 50% of Federal National Council members, and 26% of Cabinet members. Women also constitute 46% of STEM graduates in the UAE, and 80% of the scientific leadership team in the Emirates Mars delegation also addressed the UAE's role in supporting women empowerment globally through initiatives like Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak's Women in Peace and Security delegation concluded by reiterating the UAE's willingness to share its expertise and success with the international community to promote gender equality towards 2030 and National Secretariat on SDGs and the UAE Consulate General in New York City hosted a roundtable on 'Accelerating Innovation in Promoting Gender Equality to Continue Achieving Sustainable Development in the Post-2030.'The discussion explored bridging the digital gender gap, transforming the care economy, and empowering women in leadership. It presented scalable solutions and practical models to drive progress around SDG discussion featured contributions from Savannah Mazhya, Minister of Information and Communications Technology in the Kingdom of Eswatini and Chair of the Global Council for SDG 5; Abdulla Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Experience Exchange and Chair of the National Committee on SDGs; Dr. Manal Taryam, CEO and Board Member of Noor Dubai Foundation; while other participants included Chelsea Molden, Executive Director of the Public Policy Lab; Stephanie Sirota from RTW Investments in Life Sciences; and Andrew Billo, Head of Partnerships at the UN Initiative to End Violence Against Women and said: 'Over decades of sustainable development centred on the family, the UAE has made community empowerment both the finish line and the starting point of development. This approach is what the UAE is ready to share with everyone around the world.'Through the UAE's participation in HLPF, and through the delegation's meetings and partnerships, we are sharing knowledge gained in empowering society to ensure inclusive development.' Additionally, the UAE delegation shared the country's experiences in establishing the National Committee on SDGs in 2017 - during its participation in an event organised by the Government of Qatar - to introduce the agenda of the second edition of the Global Summit for Social Development, which will be held in Doha from November 4 - 6, 2025.
