Actor Dipika Chikhlia recently reacted to Arun Govil's casting in Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. She emphasised on the perception around her 'Ramayan' co-star playing Dashrath in the upcoming Ranbir Kapoor-Sai Pallavi-starrer in a recent interview with The Times of India, reflected on Govil's on-screen image as he played Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar's 1987 television show. Now, Arun is all set to essay the role of King Dashrath in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. In an interview with Times of India, Dipika reacted to Arun's casting, calling it out of context. He said, "I'm keen to not just make India proud but excite the world about Indian storytelling and really celebrate global cinema together. It's not like we don't like Hollywood films. It's not like we don't see an Oppenheimer and have a great feeling, or a Forrest Gump, or any of these, you know, landmark films. Their stories are universal. I believe this is universal too. This is that opportunity that I believe I'm pretty fortunate to have received in my life, and I hope I can deliver."

New Delhi: Veteran actress Dipika Chikhlia, known for her iconic role as Sita in Ramanand Sagar's TV series Ramayan, has shared her thoughts on Arun Govil's casting as Dasharath in Nitesh Tiwari's upcoming film. Dipika admitted that she finds it difficult to relate Arun to any other character in Ramayana, as he previously portrayed the role of Lord Ram in the 1987 series. In an interview with Etimes, Dipika Chikhlia said, "To see him in a role apart from Ram… I don't know, I mean, see — I have seen him as Ram and I've seen myself as Sita. For me to see him as Dasarath is really a little out of context. She added, "But then I guess that's really his choice. It's very personal as to how people feel. It's very difficult to break images. I mean, if you played Ram, then you are Ram.' Dipika Chikhlia revealed that she was not approached for any role in Nitesh Tiwari's adaptation of the epic. She said, 'I was never approached.
