J-K: 12th batch of devotees departs for Amarnath Yatra from Pahalgam's Nunwan base camp
Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 14 (ANI): The 12th batch of devotees departed from Nunwan base camp in Pahalgam for their pilgrimage to the Holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji on Monday morning. A devotee from Mumbai said, 'We are seven members. We are coming for the first time. Proper arrangements have been provided for food and sleep, but due to the rains, we are facing trouble. People are good. We will pray for the welfare of the people of Maharashtra.' Another devotee said that this is his sixth visit. He praised the security arrangements here. 'I have come from Maharashtra and this is his sixth visit. I have come here with 98 people. Last year I came with 150 people. I will come here every year. The arrangements are very good. There is a lot of excitement. We will pray for peace in the world. People in Kashmir are very supportive. People should come here without fear. The security arrangement is very good,' said another devotee. On Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha announced that the ongoing Amarnath Yatra has surpassed the 2-lakh mark, with devotees continuing to throng the holy cave shrine. In a post on X, LG Sinha expressed his joy, stating, 'With Baba Amarnath Ji's blessings, the holy pilgrimage has crossed the 2 lakh mark today. This is a sacred journey of a lifetime, and I welcome all the devotees to discover and experience the divinity. Har Har Mahadev!' The 38-day annual Amarnath pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high holy cave shrine in south Kashmir began on July 3 and will conclude on August 9. The pilgrimage is taking place simultaneously via both the Pahalgam route (Anantnag district) and the Baltal route (Ganderbal district). Amarnath Yatra is an annual pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave, where devotees pay homage to an ice stalagmite believed to be the lingam of Lord Shiva. The ice stalagmite forms every year during the summer months and reaches its maximum size in July and August, when thousands of Hindu devotees make an annual pilgrimage to the cave. The Indian Army has launched 'Operation SHIVA 2025' in close coordination with the Civil Administration and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) to ensure the smooth and secure conduct of the Amarnath Yatra. This annual high-tempo operation aims to provide a robust security architecture along both the Northern and Southern Yatra routes, particularly in light of the heightened threat from Pakistan-backed proxies in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor. As part of this year's enhanced security framework, over 8,500 troops have been deployed, supported by a wide array of technological and operational resources. A dynamic counter-terrorism grid, prophylactic security deployment, and corridor protection measures have been instituted. Comprehensive assistance to civil authorities is also being provided, particularly in disaster management and emergency response. The Indian Army's efforts include the installation of a Counter-UAS grid with more than 50 C-UAS and EW systems each to neutralise drone threats. (ANI)

"We roam freely because they stand with guns": Pilgrims laud Amarnath Yatra security
Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 6 (ANI): Pilgrims undertaking the annual Amarnath Yatra have expressed appreciation for the security forces and the overall arrangements along the Pahalgam route, saying that they feel safe and supported in their spiritual journey to the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji. Siddharth Agrawal, a first-time pilgrim, acknowledged the crucial role of the security personnel. He said, 'I am here for the first time. We thought the number of devotees would be less because of the recent incident. But that is not the case. The armed forces are working hard for us. We may not have had the courage to come here had it not been for the security forces. We are roaming around freely because they are standing here with guns. I salute the CRPF and the J&K Police.' Nilesh Upadhyay, another pilgrim undertaking the yatra for the 13th time, also echoed similar sentiments. 'The arrangements are very good. There is peace here,' he said. Meanwhile, Union Minister Jitendra Singh stated on Saturday that around 26,000-27,000 pilgrims have visited the Amarnath Yatra since the annual pilgrimage commenced on July 2, dispelling the misconception that the enthusiasm of pilgrims would decrease following the Pahalgam terrorist attack. The Union Minister attributed the turnout of the pilgrims as a testament to the success of the government and said that people have confidence that, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, there would be no shortcomings in the security arrangements. 'So far, 26,000-27,000 pilgrims have visited the Amarnath Yatra. The misconception that the enthusiasm of pilgrims would decrease after the Pahalgam terrorist attack has been dispelled. People have such confidence that with Prime Minister Modi in charge, they know there will be no shortcomings in their security arrangements,' said Jitendra Singh. 'People from every section of society, both from within the country and abroad, are coming for the Amarnath Yatra. This is a testament to the success of the government,' he added. Security arrangements have been strengthened across Jammu and Kashmir, including Udhampur, as the annual pilgrimage progresses through the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The annual pilgrimage, which began on Thursday, is being conducted via the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Jammu-Srinagar Highway is a key route for the thousands of pilgrims heading to the holy site. Earlier, authorities set up 17 medical camps at langar sites, established mini hospitals, and deployed ambulances across the Ramban district as the 38-day Amarnath pilgrimage commences today, weeks after the Pahalgam terror attack that left 26 people dead following religious profiling. J-K: Devotees depart from Nunwan Base Camp for Amarnath Yatra
Pahalgam (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 5 (ANI): A large number of devotees departed from Nunwan Base Camp on Saturday to begin their spiritual journey toward the Holy Cave of Shri Amarnath Ji, located in the snow-clad Himalayas of Jammu and Kashmir. As the yatra progressed smoothly under tight security and improved facilities, pilgrims expressed their joy and faith. While speaking to ANI, one of the pilgrims, Rajesh Giri, said, 'I am barefoot. I have been barefoot for the last 40 years since birth... I am going to Shri Amarnath Ji for the 25th time. I will go on foot. I will pray that our Bharat continues to progress... The arrangements are very good...' The Amarnath Yatra, a major annual pilgrimage in Hinduism, attracted both seasoned and first-time yatris. Srikrishan Yadav, who joined the yatra for the first time, told ANI, 'We are a group of six people. This is the first time I have come for the yatra. My heart is very happy and I am very excited for the darshan of Baba. I do not feel tired at all... The arrangements are very good.' Speaking to ANI, Preeti Rathore, another pilgrim, shared her excitement, saying, '...We are very excited for the darshan. I will pray that everyone's pilgrimage is successful. The arrangements are even better than before... There is nothing to be afraid of... I will pray that everyone remains happy and healthy...' A day earlier, the first batch of Shri Amarnath Yatra pilgrims returned to Jammu and Kashmir's (J-K) Udhampur after visiting the holy cave. Meanwhile, security arrangements have been strengthened across J-K, including Udhampur, as the annual pilgrimage progresses through the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The annual pilgrimage, which started on Thursday, is being conducted via the Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Jammu-Srinagar Highway is a key route for the thousands of pilgrims heading to the holy site. In Doda, security arrangements have been intensified, with the Jammu and Kashmir Police reiterating their commitment to ensuring the safety of pilgrims and eliminating any terror threats. (ANI)

Despite the recent Pahalgam terrorist attack, the unwavering faith of devotees is evident as they continue to arrive in large numbers. "Undeterred by terror incidents, our devotees are demonstrating immense faith in Bhole Baba. I am hopeful that this year's Yatra will be even more historic than previous years," the Lieutenant Governor said. The flag-off ceremony was attended by eminent spiritual leaders, heads of religious organisations, public representatives, senior officials from civil administration and security forces, as well as prominent citizens and devotees, all coming together to celebrate the spirit of this revered pilgrimage.
