Buddha Amarnath yatra from tomorrow, J&K LG says admin, police, SFs committed to ensure safe, hassle-free pilgrimage
Jammu, July 27 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today said that the sacred pilgrimage to Budha Amarnath Temple at Poonch has great spiritual significance and the administration along with police and security forces have made adequate arrangements for the safe, comfortable and hassle-free pilgrimage. Addressing the inaugural session of Shri Budha Amarnath Yatra here at Abhinav Theatre as the first batch of the holy pilgrimage will be flagged off tomorrow morning at 6 am from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar, Sinha extended greetings and best wishes to the devotees, Baba Amarnath and Budha Amarnath Yatri Nyas, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal, and other stakeholders involved in the preparations and management of the yatra. The Lieutenant Governor welcomed the devotees from across the country to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva. 'More than 3.77 lakh devotees have paid their obeisance at the holy cave during the ongoing Shri Amarnath Yatra. I am proud that we are collectively discharging our responsibility,' he said. The Lieutenant Governor observed that the gathering of devotees and saints for the spiritual journey serves as a reminder of our timeless wisdom, cultural heritage, and rich traditions, which have long guided the world toward peace, progress, and unity. 'India gave the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam- world as one family. Our culture has always emphasized global welfare and peace. Now the time has come when the glorious legacy of our rich ancient traditions should be handed over to the new generation in Jammu and Kashmir,' he said. The Lieutenant Governor also paid homage to the innocent civilians killed by Pakistan-Sponsored Terrorists in Pahalgam. 'Operation Sindoor still continues. Our police, security forces, administration are working with determination to foil the efforts of the enemy,' the Lieutenant Governor said. Amarnath Yatra: Batch of 2,896 pilgrims leaves from Jammu base camp
Jammu, July 25 (UNI) A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Yatra chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole' this morning left for the holy cave shrine in South Kashmir Himalayas from Yatri Niwas Bhagwati Nagar base camp, government sources said. 'A fresh batch of 2,896 pilgrims this morning left for Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' they added. They said that 790 pilgrims left for Pahalgam and 2,106 for Baltal in a fleet of 117 vehicles comprising light motor vehicles and heavy vehicles. The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from both the routes from here on July 2. The yatra will end on August 9 on Rakshabandhan. More than three lakh pilgrims have so far visited the shrine. Amarnath Yatra: Fresh batch of 3,536 pilgrims leaves Jammu base camp
Jammu, July 22 (UNI) A fresh batch of 3,536 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp in Jammu today to offer prayers at the 3,880-metre-high holy cave shrine of Amarnath in the South Kashmir Himalayas, officials said. 'A fresh batch of 3,536 pilgrims this morning left for the Shri Amarnath Yatra cave shrine in Kashmir from the Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' they added. The pilgrims were escorted by security forces to ensure a safe and smooth passage. Of the total pilgrims, 2,286 have taken the traditional Pahalgam route, while 1,250 opted for the shorter but steeper Baltal route. The group is travelling in a fleet of 132 vehicles, including both light and heavy motor vehicles. The 38-day annual yatra commenced on July 2 from the twin routes of Nunwan–Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal, and is scheduled to conclude on August 9. According to official data, over three lakh pilgrims have so offered prayers at the cave shrine, located at an altitude of 3,888 metres, making this year's yatra one of the most attended in recent times. The Amarnath Yatra, a pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, is traditionally held during the Hindu month of Shravan (Sawan). UNI VBH AAB

Amarnath Yatra: 18th batch of pilgrims leaves from Jammu base camp to Kashmir
18th batch leaves from Jammu base camp to Kashmir JAMMU: The 18 batch of pilgrims on Shri Amarnath Yatra comprising 4,388 devotees left for the holy cave shrine situated in the Himalayas in south Kashmir on Sunday morning from two base camps in Jammu. 'A batch of 1,573 left for Baltal in a fleet of 64 vehicles escorted by security squad at 3.30am, while a second batch of 2,815 pilgrims left in a convoy of 115 vehicles at 4am,' officials said. The 38-day annual pilgrimage started from two routes after the first batch was flagged off from here by the lieutenant governor of the UT, Manoj Sinha, on July 2. The Shri Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to conclude on Aug 9 on the auspicious occasion of Shravan Purnima coinciding with Rakshbandhan. This year, with an objective of bolstering security during the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, the UT govt declared all the routes of the yatra as "No Flying Zones", including Pahalgam axis and Baltal axis, from July 1 to Aug 10.

6,365 pilgrims leave Jammu for Amarnath yatra
Jammu, July 19 (UNI) A fresh batch of over 6,000 pilgrims of the Shri Amarnath Yatra, chanting 'Bam Bam Bhole', set out for the holy cave shrine in the South Kashmir Himalayas from the Yatri Niwas base camp today at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu. 'A fresh batch of 6,365 pilgrims left this morning for the Shri Amarnath cave shrine in Kashmir from the Jammu base camp amid tight security arrangements,' officials said. Of them, 2,851 pilgrims were headed for Pahalgam and 3,514 for Baltal, travelling in a convoy of 211 vehicles, including both Light and Heavy Motor Vehicles. The 38-day annual pilgrimage began simultaneously from both routes following the flag-off of the first batch by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on July 2. The yatra is scheduled to conclude on August 9. So far, more than 2 lakh pilgrims have paid obeisance at the shrine. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant-Governor had on June 17 passed orders to declare the twin routes for the Amarnath Yatra as 'no-flying zones' between July 1 and August 10. An official spokesperson said the J&K Home Department, on the orders of the L-G, issued 'strict security directives regarding aerial activity during the upcoming Amarnath Yatra'. Officials said the measure was taken 'to ensure strengthened security during the yatra'. Any kind of aviation platforms and devices, including UAVs, drones, and balloons, would be prohibited on both the Pahalgam axis (in south Kashmir) and Baltal axis (in central Kashmir). UNI VBH AAB
