Maruti Suzuki and DPIIT sign MoU to propel auto & mobility startup innovation in India

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, on Wednesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), with an aim to to encourage and support startups to develop technology-driven solutions in automobile manufacturing and mobility space. According to the press release by the company, start-ups recognised by DPIIT under the 'Startup India' initiative will have the opportunity to participate in Maruti Suzuki's innovation programs. Upon selection, this would assist startups with expert mentorship, industry insights, and access to Maruti Suzuki's extensive network and infrastructure, which serves as a valuable testbed for robust validation of their this would also provide a platform for the start-up to connect to incubators, accelerators, and investors to showcase their solutions."India is home to a vibrant and growing startup ecosystem. Delhi, India – Business Wire India In a landmark move to accelerate India's deeptech ecosystem, Startup Policy Forum (SPF) has launched #100DesiDeepTechs — a first-of-its-kind multistakeholder initiative to identify and empower India's top 100 deeptech startups, in collaboration with Startup India - DPIIT, MEITY Startup Hub and IIT-Madras. This initiative aims to foster a robust policy dialogue and drive the nation's deeptech agenda forward. Applications are now open for startups across India to join this exclusive cohort. Selected startups will participate in closed-door deeptech dialogues, engaging with policymakers, investors, industry leaders, sectoral regulators, academic and research institutions. These discussions will culminate in a comprehensive policy whitepaper outlining sector-specific challenges and regulatory recommendations to strengthen India's deep tech ecosystem. The initiative targets startups innovating in critical deeptech domains, including Semiconductors, Defence Technologies, Quantum Technologies, Green Hydrogen, Space Technologies, Drones and Unmanned Aerial Systems, Electric Vehicles, Biotechnology, Robotics and Autonomous Systems, Advanced Manufacturing, and Communications Infrastructure. To further support the cohort, a Mentor Board will be established that will be composed of founders, investors, policymakers, and technical experts to provide strategic advice, technical expertise, and access to critical networks. The whitepaper will be unveiled at 'Deeptech Baithak,' a high-profile multi-stakeholder gathering of 100 founders, leading investors, policymakers, regulators, and ecosystem enablers. The initiative will also lay the foundation for SPF's Centre for Deeptech Policy Research (CDPR) to ensure sustained policy dialogue and targeted interventions for the sector. DPIIT and Hafele India Ink MoU to Boost Manufacturing

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has entered into a strategic MoU with Hafele India Pvt. Ltd. to strengthen India's manufacturing innovation and empower startups, MSMEs, and entrepreneurs. This collaboration emphasizes building resilient local supply chains and furthering India's vision as a global manufacturing powerhouse. Hafele will support product innovation and local sourcing by investing in startups, extending mentorship, and enabling their integration into global value chains. The company has already invested USD 2.5 million in an Indian appliance startup and placed purchase orders with Indian MSME manufacturers in the hardware and fittings sectors. DPIIT will enhance this collaboration through Startup India, offering program access, co-branding opportunities, and strategic linkages. Hafele's expanded support includes infrastructure access, supplier development, and technical partnerships. Dr. Sumeet Kumar Jarangal, Director, DPIIT, emphasized the government's commitment to fostering industry-driven manufacturing growth. Shri Sanjiv, Joint Secretary, DPIIT, added that the partnership promotes sustainable growth under the Make in India initiative.
