Seven people hospitalized after large truck crashes into Job Corps building in Devens
Seven people were hospitalized and several more injured after a large flatbed truck crashed through the Shriver Job Corps building in Devens.
Massachusetts State Police say the truck slammed into the building on the Shriver Job Corps campus on Jackson Road around 10:30 a.m.
The driver of the truck and six other people at the site were taken to nearby hospitals.
The large truck carrying a red box could be seen buried about halfway into the lobby of a building.
Devens Fire Chief Timothy Kelly said six other people were also treated at the scene but did not need to be taken to a hospital.
Job Corps is a federally funded education and training school for 16 to 24-year-olds who are in poverty and endured hardships like abuse and homelessness.
Some of the injured were young students and worked enrolled in Job Corps, according to Chief Kelly.
Massachusetts State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
State police say more info will be released at a later time.
