Weak Hero Class Season 3: Release date speculation, cast and plot details – Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on July 20, 2025, 18:00 IST Last updated July 20, 2025, 12:26 IST Alright, Weak Hero Class fans, let's talk about the one thing keeping us all up at night: Weak Hero Class Season 3. After that gut-punch of a second season hit Netflix on April 25, 2025, we're not the only ones refreshing X for updates. The cliffhanger, the feels, those insane fight scenes—Season 2 left us desperate for more of Yeon Si-eun and his Eunjang High crew. So, what do we know about Season 3? From release date guesses to cast rumors and plot theories, here's the scoop on everything buzzing around this K-drama gem. Release Date Speculation for Weak Hero Class Season 3 Trying to pin down a release date without an official announcement is like guessing the weather a year out, but let's give it a shot. Weak Hero Class 2 got announced in December 2023, filmed through mid-2024, and landed in April 2025. That's roughly a 16-month turnaround. If Netflix gives the go-ahead by, say, December 2025, we could be looking at a late 2026 release if they hustle. But, real talk, the three-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2 makes me think 2027 is more likely. Expected Cast for Weak Hero Class Season 3 If Season 3 happens (and it better), the core gang should be back, judging by how Season 2 wrapped. Here's our take on who we'll see: Park Ji-hoon as Yeon Si-eun Choi Hyun-wook as Ahn Su-ho Ryeo Un as Park Hu-min (Baku) Choi Min-yeong as Seo Jun-tae Lee Min-jae as Go Hyun-tak Lee Jun-young as Geum Seong-je We might also see Jo Jung-seok as Choi Chang-hee, the shady Cheongang gang boss who showed up at the end. He's got 'trouble' written all over him. RIP Na Baek-jin (Bae Na-ra), but I wouldn't be shocked if he pops up in flashbacks—his death was too murky to leave alone. Potential Plot for Weak Hero Class Season 3 Season 2 ended with a bang: Eunjang took down the Union, but at a cost. That mid-credits scene with Choi Chang-hee offering Seong-je control of the Union (and Seong-je saying 'nah') left our jaw on the floor. Season 3 could go so many ways. Here's what we are expecting: Si-eun's Dark Side : Park Ji-hoon pitched Si-eun going rogue after losing friends, and I'm obsessed with the idea. Imagine our quiet strategist snapping and taking on everyone—Union, Cheongang, you name it. : Park Ji-hoon pitched Si-eun going rogue after losing friends, and I'm obsessed with the idea. Imagine our quiet strategist snapping and taking on everyone—Union, Cheongang, you name it. Su-ho and Baku Team-Up : Su-ho's back, but he's got new friends to vibe with (or clash with). Fans on X are hyping a Su-ho-Baku alliance, and we are expecting them to throw punches together in some epic fight. : Su-ho's back, but he's got new friends to vibe with (or clash with). New Threats : The webtoon's mostly wrapped in the show, so Season 3 might go off-book, like Kingdom did. Choi Chang-hee's gang could pull Si-eun into a bigger, scarier world of crime, way beyond high school bullies. : The webtoon's mostly wrapped in the show, so Season 3 might go off-book, like did. Baek-jin's Mystery: The show didn't explain Baek-jin's death, just hinted it was sketchy. The webtoon says car accident, but I'm betting Season 3 digs deeper. Reddit's blowing up with theories—one fan thinks Si-eun might use his chess-master brain to outsmart a gangster like Chang-hee. Another post suggested a time jump to graduation, which could shake things up. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . 'Produce 101' star hits new career high tackling school violence
Park Ji-hoon discusses becoming Si-eun in Netflix's 'Weak Hero: Class 2' Park Ji-hoon, who rose to breakout fame after finishing second among 101 trainees on the hit K-pop audition series "Produce 101: Season 2 (2017)," is experiencing another major career high -- not as an idol, but as a rising star in the acting world. The singer-turned-actor has gripped audiences with his performance as the lead in the "Weak Hero" franchise, playing a troubled yet calculating high schooler who confronts school violence head-on. The adrenaline-filled youth drama initially found success on Korea's Wavve platform when it was released in 2022. Now it has been picked up by Netflix for its second season -- titled "Weak Hero: Class 2" -- and has quickly achieved international traction. The sophomore installment topped Netflix's global top 10 chart for non-English-language series in the fourth week of April, signaling Park's arrival as a global force. In the series, Park portrays Si-eun, a quiet but fiercely intelligent student who strategically resists bullies. According to Park, he mainly aimed to portray the character's deepened emotional complexity in the second season. 'In 'Weak Hero: Class 1', Si-eun transfers schools carrying trauma, and it ends with the simple question, 'Will he be able to make friends again?'' Park said during a group interview held in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, on Monday. 'I depicted Si-eun with the mindset that he naturally grew attached to and relied on his friends such as Soo-ho and Beom-seok, who went through the incident together,' Park continued. ''In season two, I felt proud and relieved to see Si-eun open up his heart and begin to form friendships again as he grew.'' The show's hard-hitting action, a signature element of the series reflecting the raw violence among high school boys, was taken to new heights in the second season, Park noted. 'Season 2 had much more to express, which made it more difficult. I worried a lot about whether I could show something different from the first season,' he explained. 'In the second season, Si-eun is in a very broken state. He takes sleeping pills and wakes up from nightmares. A student who used to only study is now seen only sleeping at school. I talked a lot with the director about how to express not only his outer condition but also his inner collapse. I tried hard to portray Si-eun's desperation -- his eyes saying, 'Let's end this pathetic situation somehow.'' Going forward, Park is poised to continue the momentum with his next feature film, "The Man Who Lives With the King (working title)." The historical fiction project, featuring veteran stars Yoo Ji-tae and Jeon Mi-do, centers on a dethroned young king taken in by a village chief and his people. "I now want to become an actor who can share and connect with viewers through the emotions I portray. I think that's one of the challenges I need to overcome as an actor,' he reflected. yoonseo.3348@

Ryeoun made his acting debut in 2017 and got his big break in romance and youth web series. His best work was for his main role in the 2023 fantasy drama 'Twinkling Watermelon.' Na Baek-jin is the leader of the Union – a rowdy gang of students from local high schools. Being one of the best fighters in the area, he is determined to bring Eunjang and his childhood friend Baku under his control. Bae Na-ra debuted as a musical actor in 2013 in stage productions such as Kinky Boots, Grease, West Side Story, and Evil Dead The Musical. His silver screen acting began with the K-drama 'D.P.'
