The old-money pieces to wear to Wimbledon if you want to look posh this summer
For the next two weeks, you'll hear that familiar summer sound – the pop of a tennis ball hitting the ground, as Wimbledon kicks off and the world tunes in to see who is crowned champion. I have some great memories of going there over the years, including a long chinwag with Mary Berry – discovering as we said goodbye that she doesn't like hugs. Awkward! Also meeting David Beckham and his guest – his mum – and watching as several women lost all sense of decorum in the stands around him. (Mum or no mum, this was David Beckham!) Wimbledon is my favourite event for observing summer fashion, too, with many making an effort to deliver tennis-inspired looks. One of the most memorable was Sienna Miller 's 2023 linen blue-and-white striped trouser suit from Polo Ralph Lauren, which had a flattering tie waist and wide-leg cut. She styled it with a navy woven bag and platform heels, keeping her jewellery simple with a pair of Missoma silver hoop earrings. Other hero outfits have included Zendaya 's white suit with a blue-striped shirt and navy tie that she wore for last year's men's final and Julia Roberts ' Gucci tennis dress in the Royal Box. Alexa Chung always shows up in something interesting and individual, too. If you're lucky enough to be attending this year, or you just want to channel Centre Court's old-money vibes for summer, here's some style inspo... For colours that work courtside, look to dazzling whites, butter yellows, blues, greys and navy. Pinstripes and tailoring are guaranteed winners: waistcoats as tops, wide trousers with shirts or a trouser suit with heels. I'll be wearing the Ansdell jacket from The Fold and some wide-leg trousers. When it comes to easy-breezy pieces, shirt dresses look cool and classic, while a full white skirt is great teamed with a fun top. Silk, linen, crepe and organic cotton are the materials to invest in. Statement sunglasses will elevate your outfit – I'll be donning my white Celine pair. Keep other accessories, like your bag and footwear, relatively simple. Gold jewellery works brilliantly with crisp white. For extra inspiration, look to the film Challengers. Zendaya plays a tennis prodigy and her style is perfection: a mix of quiet luxury and casual athleisure. Cue tennis whites and slicked-back hair, red and white separates and a powder-blue shirt dress paired with knockout espadrilles. Game, set and match! @thestylistandthewardrobe @youmagazine GET SHIRTY Check out this season's smart shirt dresses for tennis-outfit inspiration. I love this knotted butter-yellow number – its cinched silhouette and side split are super-flattering. Mango dress LOVE ALL For tennis-appropriate jewellery, this minimalist piece from Sézane is courtside perfection. Sézane necklace £110 Shop SPOTTED An eclectic array of outfits in the latest season of And Just Like That... which has new episodes dropping on Sky every Friday in the UK. The outfits are costume designer Molly Rogers' best work yet – my favourite so far is Carrie's opening-scene flower dress (right) from Irish designer Simone Rocha. Rogers has linked some of the show's pieces on her Instagram and they are available to shop via @andjustlikethatcostumes.

I hate how instant tans look on my pale skin, so tried out a new viral product that claims to suit any undertone

You can use our handy guide to work out whether you have a 'warm' or 'cool' undertone to your skin TRUE TONE I hate how instant tans look on my pale skin, so tried out a new viral product that claims to suit any undertone Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) WHEN it comes to getting an extra glow, millions of women worldwide rely on instant tans. But having pale skin means it's always been difficult for me to find a product that works without making me look orange, or comically tanned, à la David Dickinson. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 6 I've got very pale skin, and most instant tans I've tried in the past are way too orange to even look a little bit natural Credit: supplied 6 So I was keen to try out utan's new viral instant tan sprays - the first designed to complement your skintone Credit: utan 6 They come in either a cool or warm option, depending on your undertone - which you can check in the box below Credit: utan 6 The cool spray was the first I tried, but was too orange for my liking - and I felt it was obviously fake Credit: supplied So I was keen to try a new Instant Tan, after it went viral on social media. The product comes from utan, who count Sienna Miller and Hailey Bieber among their celeb fans, and is the first-ever instant tan designed to "perfectly complement your skin's undertone". "Blending easily and offering sheer coverage like body make-up, the airbrushing sprays dry in 60 seconds, staying resistant to sweat and water for long-lasting wear," utan say of the sprays. "Plus, it washes off with soap, when you're ready." I couldn't decide whether my undertone was cool or warm, so opted to get both of the sprays, as you can mix them together if you need to. And you don't need to worry about the instant tan having that horrible biscuit-y smell associated with so many tanning products. The utan sprays - which you can get for £17.99 in Superdrug - have a base scent of organic vanilla and tonka, perfect for fragrance layering as it helps perfume to make your scent really stand out. So if you're a vanilla girly, it's the perfect product to enhance your sweet smell. In fact, women online have called the smell of the Instant Tan "insane" - and I tend to agree. They advise you to spray the product, from a distance of approximately 15cm, onto a brush or mitt, before buffing into the skin. Can a £3 Gradual Tan Really Deliver a Sun-Kissed Glow without Streaks or Stained Sheets? I didn't have a mitt to hand, so went with a fluffy blusher brush, and sprayed it on there before applying to my skin. Applying the tan to my face led to a moment of panic, as it looked VERY dark compared to my ghost-like complexion. So I definitely wouldn't advise spraying the product directly onto the skin! But after blending it in with my brush, it started to spread more and give me the glow I was looking for. While I had initially thought I'd have to mix the two colours together, it was actually the warm that worked best for me. The finish of the cool ended up being too orange, and seemed to draw more attention to the fact that my bronze was fake. How to choose the right instant tan for your skintone YOUR undertone is the colour beneath your skin's surface, which remains the same regardless of sun exposure. And matching your instant tan to your undertone means you'll get the most natural, flattering results. Undertones fall into three categories, and identifying yours is simple: Cool (blue, pink, or red) – Blue or purple veins typically indicate a cool undertone – Blue or purple veins typically indicate a cool undertone Warm (golden, peachy, or olive) – Green or olive veins suggest a warm undertone – Green or olive veins suggest a warm undertone Neutral (a mix of both cool and warm tones) – A mix of both suggests a neutral undertone You can then choose the Instant Tan that's right for your undertone. Use the Cool option if you've got cool undertones, as the spray gives a bronze that may be too ashy for those who prefer a golden glow. The Warm option is perfect if you want a natural golden glow, but may be too yellow for those who suit cooler shades. If you've got more of a neutral undertone, you can blend both colours for a bespoke, flawless tan. Whereas the warm spray worked perfectly - giving me a natural glow without too much of an orange base. You have to work quickly with the sprays, as they do dry quickly, but I did manage to blend it out for even coverage. Once I was happy with the finish, I used Avon's Prep & Set setting spray for some extra transfer protection. Having a tan - especially on my face - is a novelty for me, and made me feel instantly more confident. So much so that I'd even consider going out without any more make-up on. However, you can use the instant tan as a base if you'd prefer - just remember that your usual foundation may end up looking too light. Another thing I hate about instant tans I've tried in the past is just how hard it can be to get them off. But I didn't need to worry about that with the utan sprays. You can apparently remove easily with just soap and water, but I grabbed a face wipe and they worked a treat. All in all, I'd give these sprays a four out of five - they're perfect for a quick tan if you haven't got time to let one develop, and smell absolutely divine. But due to how easily I got the tan off, I'm not sure how well it would hold up in the rain - and that's a necessity for heading out in British weather! I'd definitely recommend though - even for the pale queens out there - and I'll 100% be using it again. 6 I tried the warm spray next, and it was a much better option for my skintone - giving me an instant confidence boost too Credit: supplied

Kate Winslet shares sweet message with King Charles as the Oscar winner becomes latest celeb ambassador to join The King's Foundation
Kate Winslet shared a sweet message with the monarch as she became the latest celebrity ambassador to join The King's Foundation on Thursday. The Oscar-winning actress, 49, proudly admitted to be 'thrilled' to be taking on the role as she beamed while shaking hands with King Charles. Following her induction, Kate told the King: 'Don't worry, I'll be all in, I've got your back' as she joined the likes of Sir David Beckham, Sienna Miller, Sir Rod Stewart and Penny Lancaster. Accepting the honour Kate looked stylish in a chic oversized cream suit and couldn't wipe the smile off her face while posing with her framed certificate. Following the announcement Kate gushed: 'One of my passions is exploring ways that we can protect and promote the natural world, something I have in common with His Majesty.' She continued: 'I am so thrilled to become an ambassador for The King's Foundation, particularly as the charity celebrates its 35th anniversary this year, The King's Foundation does such fantastic work to prioritise and protect nature and our wonderful planet,' 'In particular championing field to fork farming, as well as getting young people outdoors and learning about our beautiful countryside and how we can all play a part in protecting its future, all things that are deeply important to me and to so many of us. Before adding: 'And it's been fascinating learning about what the foundation does over these past few months, and I am really looking forward to collaborating with the other ambassadors so we can discuss ways in which we can collectively make a positive difference.' Earlier this month the Hollywood alum was snapped as she warmly shook the King 's hand during a reception for the foundation at St James's Palace in London. The annual ceremony - which is celebrating the 35th Anniversary of The King's Foundation this year - look place earlier this month was an opportunity to celebrate alumni, students, and ambassadors of the monarch's charity. Attended by 200 guests, the awards celebrates the exemplary work of students, teachers, alumni and partners who have contributed to the Foundation's work across a range of sectors including sustainability, traditional heritage skills and environmental education. Kate joined other guests including Meryl Streep, Stanley Tucci, chef Raymond Blanc and Alan Titchmarsh. Happily rubbing shoulders with the A-listers, footballer David, who became an ambassador for the King's Foundation in 2024, appeared to be in his element as he put on an animated display with American actress Meryl. Meanwhile, Charles, 76, proved to be the perfect host as he had the famous faces in fits of giggles as he chatted to those in attendance. The foundation revealed it has to date trained more than 115,000 students in traditional crafts and environmental education over its 35-year tenure, welcomed more than 2.5million visitors to its UK destinations, and positively affected more than 500,000 lives through sustainable urban planning. King's Foundation ambassador Penny Lancaster praised the monarch for his vision for creating the awards and highlighting the needs of the planet throughout his adult life. 'We all know that the King has been the forefront and sort of marching us all along for more than 50 years, he's been an absolute pioneer and visionary in that sense,' she said. 'These awards and indeed the foundation is so important because of the role they have in not only protecting these traditional crafts and the environment but also giving the winners such an incredible platform to go and achieve great things. 'The King may have been accused of hugging trees and people thinking he was mad when he started talking about the environment all that time ago, but he was at the forefront then and now has been proved right with everything he said and now we're all just trying to play catch up. 'I really recognise the beauty in the way he is trying to get us on board with his knowledge and if we can pass that on to the younger generation, and save some of the traditional skills like we've seen with these winners today, we can all be a part of making a difference. 'I think the mistake is when we say, well, there's such a huge job ahead of us that we could give up, but where's the hope about and confidence that we can pull together to not make it such a mammoth task, there is real hope for the future.'
