Signpost India shares in focus tomorrow as Karnataka High Court allows resumption of advertising operations in Bengaluru
By Aditya Bhagchandani Published on July 3, 2025, 19:51 IST Signpost India Limited informed exchanges on July 3 that it has received an order from the Karnataka High Court allowing the company to resume its advertising operations in Bengaluru. This comes after the court quashed earlier notices issued by the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) that had directed the company to dismantle its advertisement structures. The order, dated June 20, 2025, was received by the company on July 3. The court directed BBMP to adhere to the terms of a prior Joint Memorandum of Compromise and to allow Signpost India to erect and maintain advertisement hoardings and display structures at mutually identified locations in line with the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement. Signpost India said the court's decision enables it to restart its operations under the 20-year BOOT (Build-Own-Operate-Transfer) model for the urban infrastructure project, which involves traffic surveillance kiosks at 400 premier junctions in Bengaluru. Over 150 kiosks are already installed and operational. The company stated there are no penalties or restrictions imposed and no non-compliance issues noted in the order. Operations will resume as per the PPP agreement and in compliance with the court's directions.
