Jacob Fatu Ambushes Solo Sikoa on SmackDown After United States Title Loss
Image via Imagn The Bloodline saga has dominated the WWE for a couple of years now, and things are not expected to slow down anytime soon. At Night of Champions 2025, Solo Sikoa finally clinched his first singles title on the main roster as he beat his former stablemate Jacob Fatu for the United States Championship. The ending of the match was not clean as Sikoa used the help of a returning Tonga Loa and a debuting Tala Tonga, who attacked 'The Samoan Werewolf' and cost him the match and the title. And things really heated up during the opening of the July 4th SmackDown in Pittsburgh when Fatu took matters into his own hands. Jacob Fatu Beats Solo Sikoa Senseless Ahead of the Tag Team Main Event on SmackDown The opening of the show saw Solo Sikoa arrive at the arena with his newly won United States Championship. He was clearly in the mood to celebrate after his victory in Riyadh, but before he could get out of the car, 'The Samoan Werewolf' ambushed the new champion. Tonga Loa and JC Mateo tried to interfere to save their leader but to no avail. Fatu took care of business as he sent Mateo crashing into the front door of the vehicle in which the stable members arrived. In what seemed to be a rather humorous shot, Sikoa was left hanging out from the window pane of the car as he did not get a chance to get out and was beaten senselessly while in the vehicle. However, this wasn't the end of the night for the former Bloodline members. In the show's main event, Sikoa teamed up with JC Mateo to face Jimmy Uso and Fatu. The match ended with Fatu's trademark moonsault as he pinned the United States Champion clean to win the match. In the aftermath, Fatu was attacked by none other than Tala Tonga, with Tonga Loa interfering as well. After taking out Uso, they turned their attention to Fatu and ended the show by putting 'The Samoan Werewolf' through the table via a triple powerbomb. Apart from this, Sikoa also revealed the name of his newly formed stable. He dumped 'The Bloodline' name and took 'MFT' (My Family Tree) as the new stable name for his group, which now consists of Tonga Loa, JC Mateo, and Tala Tonga. WWE SmackDown (July 4, 2025) Quick Highlights: List of All Winners, Top Performers, and More
The July 4th edition of SmackDown was an eventful night with seeds being sown for the upcoming Saturday Night's Main Event and SummerSlam PLE in August. The PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh saw a couple of tag team bouts, with no matches being advertised beforehand. However, the show was taped following the June 30th RAW and returned to its two-hour format. Let's have a look at the biggest winners along with the results from this week's show. Jacob Fatu and Jimmy Uso vs. Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo The biggest winner from this week's SmackDown has to be Solo Sikoa and his brigade of 'new' family members. Meanwhile, Fatu teamed up with former archnemesis Jimmy Uso to take on Sikoa and Mateo in the main event. 'The Samoan Werewolf' has been a great baby face till now, and while the majority of the in-ring action was attributed to Uso and Mateo, the crowd was pretty excited when Fatu and Sikoa finally faced off. Although Fatu secured the victory with his trademark moonsault but he was then attacked by Tanga Loa and Sikoa's latest ally, Tata Tonga. This resulted in Fatu being put through the table, courtesy of a triple powerbomb. The Opening Segment Between Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Drew McIntyre Orton and Rhodes talked about their clash from Night of Champions and were interrupted by a returning McIntyre, who accused Rhodes of using his mentor to his advantage and punching his way to SummerSlam for a shot against John Cena. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Esse novo alarme com câmera é quase gratuito em Doutor Pedrinho (consulte o preço) Alarmes Undo Orton quickly responded with an RKO but left the arena with a cold stare at Rhodes, sowing seeds for a future match. Backstage, McIntyre got his wish of facing Orton at SNME in Atlanta. The segment's biggest winner was McIntyre, as he successfully got what he wanted and also planted the signs for two of the biggest babyfaces turning on each other. Action-Packed Tag Match Between Rey Fenix & Andrade vs. Fraxiom Up next was a tag team match featuring Rey Fenix and Andrade against Axiom and Nathan Frazer. The four participants were on fire and didn't let the action slow down even a bit. The match was packed with fast-paced sequences, high-flying moves, and crisp execution. Axiom and Frazer (aka Fraxiom) put up a strong fight, but in the end, it was Fenix and Andrade who came out on top. Overall, it was a great shining point for all four participants. #1 Contender's Triple Threat Tag Match for the Women's Tag Titles A thrilling triple-threat tag team match saw Alexa Bliss & Charlotte Flair team up to face B-Fab & Michin and Piper Niven & Alba Fyre. The stakes were clearly high as it was put together to decide who would punch their ticket to Evolution for the Women's Tag Team titles. Bliss, Michin, and Niven started the match, but Flair quickly tagged in. The overall match did not slow down and ended with Bliss hitting the Twisted Bliss to pick up the win. It ended with Flair awkwardly hugging Bliss and further built upon the 'frenemies' angle between the former champions. The Wyatt Sicks vs. Berto, Chris Sabin, Montez Ford, and Johnny Gargano Nick Aldis put Berto, Chris Sabin, Johnny Gargano, and Montez Ford together to face The Wyatt Sicks in an eight-man tag match. Despite each member having some or the other segments with the stable, the team lacked chemistry. The Wyatts dominated most of the bout. The baby faces had brief flashes of offense, but the Wyatts controlled the pace. Gargano refused a tag, leading to Sabin taking the pinfall against Rowan. The match had its moments, but with limited time, only a couple of performers stood out. Other segments included Tiffany Stratton choosing Trish Stratus to defend her WWE Women's title at Evolution 2. Meanwhile, Jade Cargill will face Naomi at the same event. All of this is setting up a future bout between Cargill and Stratton at SummerSlam.
