Lidl is selling a Ninja air fryer dupe in its Middle Aisle that is £80 cheaper
LIDL is selling a Ninja air fryer dupe in its middle aisle that is a whopping £80 cheaper this summer. Shoppers will be racing to the bargain supermarket for this kitchen essential as it hits the shelves next week. The Silvercrest Kitchen Air Fryer which comes with a grill and smoker can be yours for just £99.99 from July 6. That's a whopping £80 cheaper than the Ninja version making it a bargain if you're on the look out for an air fryer on a budget. The Lidl version works as a normal air fryer with the lid closed and has a 3.8 litre capacity which can fit in 1kg of chips. What's better is that it can fry your chips without the use of any additional oil or fat. You can activate the smoker separately when the lid is closed too but when opened you can operate the grill function. And if that sounds complicated to navigate, the device comes with a touch-screen display for simple operation. The air fryer comes with seven different programs for smoking, grilling, air-frying, roasting, baking, dehydrating and reheating. It's easy to clean up too as the grill plate, frying basket, plancha and drip tray are all suitable for the dishwasher. With a high-quality non-stick coating, the fryer also is highly scratch proof and has excellent abrasion and stain resistance. You can whack the temperature up to a blazing 240 degrees as well and it works from 40 degrees upwards. And if you're planning to cook something throughout the day, the timer can be set from one minute up to 12 hours. The bargain buy comes with an instruction manual and 10 recipes included and has a three-year warranty. While the Ninja Foodi Mini 6-in-1 Multi Cooker is £80 more, it only has six cooking settings and doesn't include a smoker or a grill. But the appliance does come with a bigger capacity of 4.7 litres and has seen good reviews online. One customer gave the product a five-star rating and said: "Excellent multi cooker, easy to use, cooks great in all settings. "Really pleased with it." But at £179.99 it may prove too much of an expense for some so the Lidl version provides a great alternative. The bargain retailer are selling a range of other appliances in July too. Available on the same day is the Grillmeister BBQ Pizza Oven for just £29.99. It's great for crispy pizzas or even fresh baguettes and could be the perfect addition for a garden bash this summer. And if you want to go one step further, Lidl will be selling their Grillmeister 6 Burner Gas Barbecue for £129. How to compare prices to get the best deal JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal. There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to. Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers. Here are some that we recommend: Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results. Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock. Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one. CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

Three tips for growing your own tomatoes at home
SUN SAVERS Three tips for growing your own tomatoes at home TASTY British tomatoes are coming into season and filling the supermarket shelves. But why not save some cash and have a go at growing your own? Here's what you need to know. PICK YOUR SPOT: Tomatoes typically grow well in a greenhouse or conservatory but there are varieties that can thrive in smaller spaces. Just pick your tomato plant based on where it will live, says Nigel Lawton, plant buyer at Dobbies garden centres. He adds: 'For beginners, patio or hanging basket varieties can be ideal and are great for smaller spaces.' If you have a sunny balcony or patio, tomatoes do well in containers. Or indoors you can get a Pick & Joy tomato plant for sweet cherry tomatoes from your windowsill with minimal fuss. WATER WORKS: To get the best growth from your plant, remember that all tomatoes require regular watering. Nigel says: 'Early morning or late afternoon is best, making sure the soil stays consistently moist. "Tomato plants should never be allowed to dry out.' They'll also need lots of sunlight. Grow your groceries - how to grow tomatoes from tomatoes! Try using a large pot and fill it with some rocks at the bottom for drainage. Add a good-quality peat-free compost and plant your tomatoes using a hand trowel. Place the container in a spot where it gets as much sun as possible and you can enjoy tomatoes in as little as a few months. Nigel adds: 'If you're growing tall varieties, you should support them with bamboo canes and pinch out the side shoots to focus the energy on fruit.' TUCK IN: Once your plant starts to give fruit, you can enjoy your own homemade tomato salads. If you find you have an abundance of tomatoes, try creating your own delicious tomato sauce that is perfect for pasta. Simply slice and bake in the oven at 180C for half an hour until soft, with plenty of olive oil and some garlic or onion. When cooled, blitz up in a blender and it's ready to go. The Russell Hobbs Wireless Desk Fan is priced at just £24.99, making it hundreds of pounds cheaper than Dyson's popular fans. The handy gadget comes with three speed settings, low medium and high, and has a two hour battery life, so you can keep cool whilst on the go. A description reads: "This wireless desk fan helps you stay cool and comfortable, creating a relaxed and productive environment – whatever the weather. "Enjoy fuss-free cooling at your desk or bedside with 3 speed settings - low, medium, and high - designed for use in close proximity. "Choose the airflow that suits your comfort, whether it's a gentle breeze, a steady flow, or a cooler setting for warmer days". Plus the fan is bladeless, making it easy to clean and safer for use around children. And the Tesco product is over £200 cheaper than Dyson's Cool™ CF1 desk fan which is currently on sale for £249. The Dyson fan comes in a sleek white or silver design, and has a sleep mode, so it can keep you cool all night, without waking you up. I'm ALWAYS hot so tried cooling PJs to see if they helped me sleep More Budget Fans Lidl's Silvercrest Portable Fan is a great way to keep cool whilst on the go. The nifty gadget comes in a variety of different colours, including green and yellow and is priced at just £7.99 making it perfect for anyone trying to pinch pennies. It also has a tiltable fan head and a practical base, so you can stand the fan up whilst sitting at your desk. The budget buy also comes with a charging cable and a three-year-warranty, so you can guarantee it will keep you cool for years to come. How to keep cool in hot weather Most of us welcome hot weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks. Here are three ways to keep cool according to the NHS... Keep out of the heat if you can. If you have to go outside, stay in the shade especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter. Cool yourself down. Have cold food and drinks, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, and have a cool shower or put cool water on your skin or clothes. Keep your living space cool. Close windows during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down. Electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Check the temperature of rooms, especially where people at higher risk live and sleep. Lidl is also currently selling a Silvercrest Tower fan for £69.99, a whopping £280 cheaper than Dyson's £350 bladeless fan. Aldi is also selling a Dyson dupe, with its Ambiano Bladeless Fan currently priced at £39.99. The modern design bladeless fan has three speed settings, high, medium, low, plus three modes: normal, nature and sleep. You can customise your sleep with the various modes and tailor it to your own temperature needs during the day - and most importantly, for a good night's sleep at bedtime. Plus, with its bladeless design, it's safe around little people or pets.

Investing in Silvercrest Asset Management Group (NASDAQ:SAMG) five years ago would have delivered you a 51% gain
If you buy and hold a stock for many years, you'd hope to be making a profit. Better yet, you'd like to see the share price move up more than the market average. But Silvercrest Asset Management Group Inc. (NASDAQ:SAMG) has fallen short of that second goal, with a share price rise of 22% over five years, which is below the market return. The last year has been disappointing, with the stock price down 0.7% in that time. With that in mind, it's worth seeing if the company's underlying fundamentals have been the driver of long term performance, or if there are some discrepancies. Trump has pledged to "unleash" American oil and gas and these 15 US stocks have developments that are poised to benefit. To paraphrase Benjamin Graham: Over the short term the market is a voting machine, but over the long term it's a weighing machine. One imperfect but simple way to consider how the market perception of a company has shifted is to compare the change in the earnings per share (EPS) with the share price movement. During five years of share price growth, Silvercrest Asset Management Group actually saw its EPS drop 6.8% per year. Since the EPS are down strongly, it seems highly unlikely market participants are looking at EPS to value the company. The falling EPS doesn't correlate with the climbing share price, so it's worth taking a look at other metrics. We note that the dividend is higher than it was previously - always nice to see. Maybe dividend investors have helped support the share price. The graphic below depicts how earnings and revenue have changed over time (unveil the exact values by clicking on the image). You can see how its balance sheet has strengthened (or weakened) over time in this free interactive graphic. It is important to consider the total shareholder return, as well as the share price return, for any given stock. The TSR incorporates the value of any spin-offs or discounted capital raisings, along with any dividends, based on the assumption that the dividends are reinvested. Arguably, the TSR gives a more comprehensive picture of the return generated by a stock. In the case of Silvercrest Asset Management Group, it has a TSR of 51% for the last 5 years. That exceeds its share price return that we previously mentioned. The dividends paid by the company have thusly boosted the total shareholder return. Silvercrest Asset Management Group shareholders are up 4.2% for the year (even including dividends). Unfortunately this falls short of the market return. On the bright side, the longer term returns (running at about 9% a year, over half a decade) look better. Maybe the share price is just taking a breather while the business executes on its growth strategy. Keeping this in mind, a solid next step might be to take a look at Silvercrest Asset Management Group's dividend track record. This free interactive graph is a great place to start. Of course Silvercrest Asset Management Group may not be the best stock to buy. So you may wish to see this free collection of growth stocks.
