Robust industrial base key to economic development: Collector
Anantapur: Establishing a robust industrial base across the district is essential for achieving sustainable economic development, said Anantapur in-charge District Collector Shiv Narayan Sharma. He made these remarks during the 60th District Industries and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting held on Friday at the mini conference hall of the District Collectorate. Addressing the officials, the Collector emphasised the need to strengthen the industrial sector and directed authorities to take proactive measures. He stressed the importance of encouraging enthusiastic entrepreneurs by ensuring timely approvals through the Single Desk Portal. He further instructed officials to create awareness among industrialists about various schemes implemented by both the Central and State governments. Collector Sharma revealed that since the previous meeting, a total of 224 aspiring entrepreneurs have applied through the Single Window system, out of which 25 applications were approved. He instructed officials to promptly review and approve the remaining 16 pending applications as well. He urged concerned departments to ensure all permissions through the portal are granted within the stipulated time frame. The committee also approved a subsidy of Rs 230.54 lakh under the 2020–23 and 2023–27 industrial policies for 13 units. During the meeting, success stories of entrepreneurs who benefited from the PMEGP (Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme) and have successfully established their ventures were compiled and presented to the Collector by the District Industries Department. Expressing satisfaction, the Collector appreciated these achievements. He also directed the APIIC Zonal Manager to identify suitable land for setting up an MSME Park in the district. Furthermore, he instructed officials to expedite efforts to establish the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, which is expected to provide technology transfer and skill training to youth, thereby generating employment opportunities. The meeting was attended by District Industries Officer Srinivas Yadav, AD Rajasekhar Reddy, Commercial Officer Krishna Reddy, RTO Veerraju, APIIC Manager Mallikarjun, DSDO Pratap Reddy and other key officials.

Promote industrial growth extensively
Nellore: District Collector O Anand has directed the officials to ensure establishment of more industries to generate employment to the unemployed youth in the district. Addressing the District Industries and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting, the Collector has disclosed that as many as 1,616 applications against total 1,700 received under Single Desk Portal (SDP) were solved, while 64 applications were rejected, another 64 are kept pending. The Collector said that most of the applications which were kept pending were related to Pollution Control Board (PCB) and Legal Metrology (LM) departments. He ordered that officials should show special attention over pending applications and solve them by discussing the issues with PBC and LM departments. He said that officials should organise awareness programmes about the World Bank supporting programme called 'Ramp' to promote more indistries in the district. The Collector said that as many as 76 units were physically grounded under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the district. On the occasion, the Ceollector reviewed the progress related to the proposed industrial units of Jakson Infra, Utkarsha Alluminimum, Dhathu Nigam Limited and Cribco Green Energy Limited. Lease system for minor minerals from June 30 in Andhra Pradesh
VIJAYAWADA: The coalition government has announced the reintroduction of an application-based lease system for minor minerals, marking a major reform in the State's mineral resource management. The initiative, introduced under the Minor Mineral Policy 2025, was formalised through G.O. Ms. No. 57 dated April 18. The policy aims to streamline the allocation and regulation of minor minerals, including granite, marble, and construction materials. To support this move, the government issued amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Minor Mineral Concession Rules, 1966, through G.O. Ms. No. 100 on June 26. Officials said the reforms are intended to enhance transparency and extend greater benefits to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and infrastructure developers. Starting June 30 at 9 am, applications for new leases on government lands can be submitted via the Mines Department's Single Desk Portal ( The reform is expected to boost economic activity and employment generation.

Collector stresses support for entrepreneurs, industrial growth in dist
Puttaparthi: District Collector TS Chetan presided over the District Industrial Exports and Promotion Committee (DIEPC) review meeting here on Wednesday, emphasising the critical role of supporting aspiring entrepreneurs and strengthening the industrial sector for the district's economic prosperity. The Collector urged all related departments to work collaboratively to expand and bolster Sri Sathya Sai district's industrial foundation. He highlighted the State government's proactive approach to promoting industrial investments through its new industrial policy, stressing the need to maintain this momentum at the district level. He directed the officials to promptly clear all pending applications related to industrial promotion; emphasised the importance of educating young people in both urban and rural areas about establishing industrial units and leveraging available government schemes. He reviewed the permissions granted for new industrial establishments through the Single Desk Portal to ensure efficiency. Significant financial support was approved, with Rs 46.69 lakh in investment subsidies for three units and Rs 1.7 lakh in interest subsidies for another three units. In line with the central government's EoDB initiative, departments were instructed to conduct satisfaction surveys with business owners who had received approvals. These surveys will help determine the district's EoDB ranking and must be completed swiftly. During the session, approvals for a total of 28 industrial units were fully granted, marking a step forward in the district's industrial development. General Manager of Industries Department J Nagaraju, LDM Ramana Rao, District Factories Officer Radhakrishna, APIIC Zonal Manager, SE from the Electricity Department, AP State Financial Corporation Branch Manager Ansari, District Registration Officer Krishna Kumari, APIIC representatives, and other officials were present.

Permissions granted for 53 applications through single desk portal
Nandyal: District Collector G Raja Kumari on Friday directed officials to promptly grant approvals for applications submitted through the Single Desk Portal, in order to promote aspiring industrialists in the district. Presiding over the District Industrial and Export Promotion Committee (DIEPC) meeting held at the Collectorate's video conference hall, the Collector emphasized the importance of facilitating the establishment of industries in the district. The meeting was attended by District Industries Centre (DIC) General Manager Javahar Babu, Lead District Manager Ravinder Kumar, SC/ST Chamber of Commerce President Rajamahendranath, and other concerned department officials. During the meeting, the Collector stated that 65 industrial proposals were received over the last quarter under the Single Desk system. Out of these, approvals have already been granted for 53 units by the respective departments. She instructed the officials from the Environment and Factories Departments to resolve the remaining 12 applications within the stipulated timeframe. Highlighting the government's commitment to supporting entrepreneurs, the Collector announced that under various industrial incentive schemes such as investment subsidy, interest subsidy, electricity concessions, and sales tax benefits, a total of Rs.31.85 lakhs has been sanctioned to 16 production and service-based units in the district. She further called for enhanced awareness among youth in both urban and rural areas regarding industrial investments and the establishment of new units, underscoring the crucial role of grassroots-level entrepreneurship in economic development. Among those present at the meeting were Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories Narayana Reddy, Pollution Control Board Executive Engineer Kishore Reddy, Transport Department Officer Aishwarya Reddy, and representatives from various departments and industrial associations.
