Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection Day 4: Did Aamir Khan's Film Pass The Crucial Monday Test?
New Delhi: After a solid weekend, Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par faced the crucial Monday (June 23) test at the box office. The film minted Rs 8.50 crore on June 23, taking the total upto Rs 66.65 crore at the domestic box office. Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par marks Aamir Khan's comeback to the theatres after three years. What's Happening As per Sacnilk report, Sitaare Zameen Pa r earned Rs 8.50 crore at the domestic box office on Monday. On Sunday, the film earned double-digits, keeping the momentum intact with its Friday and Saturday collections. The film managed to double its collection on its very second day of release, courtesy strong positive reviews and word-of-mouth. The film earned Rs 10.7 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 20.2 crore on Saturday and Rs 27.25 crore on Sunday. About the film's weekend performance, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "#SitaareZameenPar hits it out of the park in its opening weekend, with business multiplying hour by hour, day by day - delivering outstanding numbers across its first three days. "He added, "#SitaareZameenPar relied heavily on urban audiences and high-end multiplexes *beyond the metros* to drive its business - and the target audience welcomed it with open arms. "In today's digital age, word of mouth travels faster than ever - be it positive or negative - and #SitaareZameenPar has clearly benefitted... The day-on-day growth in business has been phenomenal." Apart from Aamir Khan, Genelia Deshmukh, Brijendra Kala, Dolly Ahluwalia and 10 debutant neurodivergent actors play pivotal roles in the film. In his review for NDTV, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave Sitaare Zameen Par 3.5 out of 5 stars. He wrote, "Sitaare Zameen Par blends comedy, emotions and the infectious vitality of a physically tough sport to drive home the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity - physical, mental and societal." In A Nutshell Sitaare Zameen Par faced the crucial Monday test at the box office on June 23. The film, which is gaining tractions through strong word-of-mouth, has to retain its hold over numbers in the upcoming days.

Aamir Khan Reveals Why He Turned Down Bajrangi Bhaijaan: ‘Isme Salman Hona Chahiye'
Last Updated: Aamir Khan revealed that the script of Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan first came to him, but he felt Salman Khan was right for the role. Bajrangi Bhaijaan, starring Salman Khan, released in 2015, and went on to become a massive box office success. It remains one of Salman's most memorable performances till date. But did you know the script of the film first came to Aamir Khan? Yes, you read that right! Aamir, who is currently gearing up for the release of Sitaare Zameen Pa, recently revealed that after hearing the story of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, he immediately suggested to screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad that Salman Khan should play the lead. Aamir felt Salman was the perfect fit for the role and didn't hesitate to step aside. While speaking with Mashable India, Aamir Khan was asked about the films he turned down over the years. When asked about the 2000 film Josh, Aamir replied, 'Josh maine mana nahi ki yaar. Josh ka mat pucho (I didn't say no to Josh, yaar. Don't even ask me about Josh)." When asked further about Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Aamir Khan clarified that he was never approached for the film. He added that Shah Rukh Khan was always meant to do it. Further speaking about Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Aamir said, 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan mere paas aayi thi. Aur kahaani sunke…ye bhi appreciate karo meri sachhai…Kahaani sunke maine Vijayendra (screenwriter) ji ko bola 'Sir, ismein Salman hona chahiye'. (Bajrangi Bhaijaan came to me. And after hearing the story… please also appreciate my honesty — after hearing it, I told Vijayendra ji, 'Sir, Salman should be in this')." He further added, 'Toh ultimately wo Salman ke paas nahi gaye, wo gaye Kabir Khan (director) ke paas. And Kabir went to Salman. (So ultimately, they didn't go to Salman directly, they went to Kabir. And Kabir took it to Salman). But that was my first response when the script came to me. I said nahi I am not doing it. This you should take to Salman." About Bajrangi Bhaijaan Bajrangi Bhaijaan, directed by Kabir Khan, stars Salman Khan, Harshaali Malhotra, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie follows the journey of Pavan, aka Bajrangi, a devout and kind-hearted man who embarks on a mission to reunite a mute, lost Pakistani girl with her family across the border. Along the way, Bajrangi faces various challenges but his determination and compassion drive him to overcome all obstacles.
