BSF head constable cremated with full honours in Barmer
Jaisalmer: BSF head constable Daluram (52) from Barmer, who was killed during anti-smuggling operations along the international border with Pakistan near Firozpur (Punjab), was cremated with full military honours at his ancestral village Wednesday.

School children led the funeral procession carrying the national flag, while chants of "Bharat Mata ki Jai" and "As long as the sun and moon exist, martyr Daluram's name will remain" echoed. Daluram was from Hodu village in Sindhari panchayat of Barmer district. He was stationed in Firozpur (Punjab).
In Firozpur, tributes were paid to Daluram's mortal remains with floral wreaths. His body was then transported by road to his ancestral village.
The body was brought to Barmer in a military vehicle and then taken to Balotra. His son, Dilip Singh (25), performed the last rites. Hundreds of people from Hodu and nearby villages attended the funeral. During the funeral, his wife Kamla Devi (48) and daughter Saroj (23) frequently fainted and were consoled by family members.
Daluram's father passed away two years ago. His mother, Paru Devi, is 70 years old. His son Dilip Singh and daughter Saroj are married. Daluram also participated in Operation Sindoor. Daluram joined BSF in 1995. He visited the village in May for a family wedding and returned to duty on May 21.
BSF DIG Raj Kumar, Siwana MLA Hamir Singh, Balotra ADM Gunjan Soni, Sindhari SDM Jagdish Singh Ashiya and Baytu DSP Shiv Narayan Choudhary, along with other officials and public representatives, attended Daluram's funeral.
