Rock legend Gavin Rossdale reveals dream of returning to Glasto and why he needs to be on his best behaviour

Gavin Rossdale has spent three decades in the rock 'n' roll spotlight since the release of Bush's debut album Sixteen Stone and admits he's always on his best behaviour now. 'I've been thinking about the kind of people who would pay to do me in,' Gavin laughs as I join him at the Sound Studio in London to celebrate the release of 9 Gavin was speaking exclusively to Bizarre's Ellie Henman Credit: collect 'I'm at the point where I'm a really successful working musician. 'I can never go anywhere where I'm anonymous . 'My behaviour has to be really excellent at all times because there's always someone with a camera phone — but I'm not like Kanye West.' The record, with brilliant tracks like The Land of Milk and Honey and Everyone Is Broken, is an ode, Gavin says, to Bush's fans, who have been with them since they broke into the scene in 1995. READ MORE FROM BIZARRE 'I wanted to make a record for the people who have gotten stuff from our records,' Gavin explains. 'It's about me, but I realised that I'm no different than anyone else. 'I think that everyone is just fighting different battles at all times. But it's important to have so much fun in life. Keep him grounded 'Life is beautiful, but it has its kind of moments where just out of nowhere, people will just f**k with you or life f**ks with you and things happen to you, to people you love. Most read in Bizarre 'So writing a record that spoke to that experience just seemed the most valuable thing to do.' He adds: 'Plus, I don't have any stories of holidays on yachts. So I didn't know what to write about. Gavin Rossdale's new girlfriend Xhoana Xheneti looks exactly like ex Gwen Stefani in his new photo as fans 'look twice' "Every time I look at Instagram, I go, 'Why is that not me?' Gavin is now based in the US but he returned to the UK to walk his model daughter Daisy Lowe down the aisle this month. Back in the US, it's his sons, Kingston, Zuma and Apollo, from his marriage to Gwen Stefani, who keep him grounded. 'My recording room is in the bedroom between two of my kids' rooms,' Gavin says. 'I did a remix of Machinehead, one of our earliest songs, and to be honest, I was impressed with myself. "And my 17-year-old son, who's a really good guitar player, walks in and he goes, 'You're not releasing that?' 'I was like, 'What do you mean?' He goes, 'You're taking legend and you're really destroying it.'' Recalling another grounding incident from Kingston, Gavin adds: 'We were on holiday and I was going on tour two days later. "I had guitars in the house that had been used by the kids and I didn't get a chance to practice. 'I started to play one of the songs and he walked in and he goes, 'Do you want any help with that?' 'I took the bait. I was like, 'Look at this house. This is how we got here!' 'I was super defensive. But he was right. I hadn't been playing so I was a bit fingers and thumbs. "He caught me on an upswing. I was like, 'Come to see our second night on tour and then you'll see, son.'' Bush's new album is the perfect follow-up to 2022's The Art of Survival with Scars and I'm Here to Save Your Life proof that Gavin is still a killer songwriter. 9 Gavin Rossdale says he's on his best behaviour after 30 years in the rock 'n' roll spotlight Credit: Getty He says: 'When you've made a lot of records you do think, does anyone need any more. 'But then you have people say, 'Please don't stop making records.' A girl said this to me outside the back of a gig. 'And that stuck with me.' Next in the works for Gavin and Bush is a UK tour, which will hopefully become a reality next year after they've finished supporting Volbeat. 'The idea of doing that Volbeat tour is to sort of stoke the fires,' Gavin says. 'It's a wild, competitive world. And if you don't take things personally, like for me, I haven't played enough of those festivals. 'But instead of moaning about it, it's just sort of like, get out there, make a great record, do a great show all across Europe and then see what happens.' Glastonbury 2027 could also be in the pipeline — with the festival's next date coinciding with the 25th anniversary of Bush last playing there. 'I thought we did quite well when we played there, but we never went back so it could be time,' says Gavin. 'I would love to play Glastonbury. I still remember that show. Where jewels tell time: Tiffany & Co.'s sublime fusion of jewellery and watchmaking

Bird on a Rock Full Pavé Diamond Another Schlumberger's design—the yellow gold cross-stitches motif from the Sixteen Stone collection—has been reimagined as hour markers for the Twenty Four Stone watch. The cushion shape of Tiffany's legendary yellow diamond has been reimagined as a diamond-cut aquamarine that protects the dial of the Carat 128 Aquamarine watch. Its five-row bracelet is a luxurious spin of Tiffany's engagement ring and its six-prong design. Photo 1 of 2 Tiffany & Co. Twenty Four Stone watch Photo 2 of 2 Tiffany & Co. Sixteen Stone ring Last but not least, the Eternity by Tiffany Wisteria watch that tested the skills of its artisans in plique-à-jour enamelling to recreate the vibrant floral motif of Tiffany's Wisteria lamp The new collection of watches shares a common theme: they are all based on iconic designs that already exist within the maison. But it goes beyond merely translating a design motif onto a watch dial—thoughtfully crafted with meticulous expertise, the designs offer a fresh perspective, elevating the act of time-reading to an entirely new level. After examining its history and archives, Bleu is determined to stick to the design-first approach. 'Our inspiration comes from the creativity of our jewellery. These are not reinventions of an old watch. They are new and inspired by some of our most iconic jewellery today,' he elaborates. Above Tiffany & Co. Carat 128 Aquamarine Do you find it particularly challenging balancing the jewellery and watchmaking? Watches are often seen as a separate métier from jewellery, but at Tiffany, the connection is intrinsic and deeply rooted in our DNA. Every detail in our timepieces—like the six-prong crown inspired by our engagement rings—reflects our heritage as a jeweller. These aren't simply watches with diamonds; they are true extensions of Tiffany's artistry in jewellery. What in-house skills are available at Tiffany? We established Tiffany Horlogerie in Geneva two and a half years ago, bringing together a team of specialists across 41 disciplines—ranging from design to quality control. While we collaborate with the best Swiss suppliers for components, we retain full control over design and construction, ensuring every movement is tailored to our creative vision—just as in jewellery, where design always comes first. Above Assembling the dial of the Eternity by Tiffany Wisteri watch Can we expect any partnerships or collaborations with the other brands under LVMH? Yes, absolutely. While it is not specifically a strategy for us, it is to our advantage that we have connections with these brands—not to mention other top specialists in Switzerland. We also benefit from having access to the stones at our New York facility. It's like conducting a big orchestra, taking all the best components we can find and putting them together into our designs. There's a lot of interest in vintage watches with the Tiffany logo on the dial today. How do you balance heritage while remaining relevant in the competitive luxury market? Tiffany's legacy lies not in replicating the past, but in its enduring spirit of creativity and innovation. As an American brand, we're driven by a forward-looking philosophy—designing timepieces inspired by our iconic jewellery rather than vintage reissues. That said, we remain open to revisiting archival pieces, so long as they align with our modern vision. How did it feel to be a part of the LVMH Watch Week this year? On a personal basis—and I speak for my team too—it was a marvelous moment to finally be able to present what we had been working so hard on in the last four years. It was all the more perfect that we got to do it in New York (the birthplace of Tiffany & Co.). Last question: what would be your ideal Tiffany watch? One that tells the story of beauty that appeals to both men and women. Above Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Flying Tourbillon

Credit: Instagram His own burgeoning music career has taken a backseat to their romance on his grid, with all but one picture dedicated to her. Celebrating the past 12 months, he wrote: "What another great year it's been with you love. Happiest birthday to the kindest soul i've ever met. You never fail to make me smile. I'm so lucky to have you. Forever and always lovebug His half-sister Daisy Lowe wrote: "Happiest birthday beautiful @lolaalbert we love you so dearly." A quick glance at Kingston is enough to know that he is the son of Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale and No Doubt's Gwen Stefani. The superstar couple married in 2002 and spent 14 years as man and wife before divorcing in 2016. They also share sons Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11. Two years ago, Kingston took a major step towards following in their footsteps when he performed his debut solo show after his famous stepfather, Blake Shelton, warmed up the crowd at a low-key gig. Country music star and The Voice US coach Blake announced the show to his followers on social media, writing: "Okay, y'all, here's the deal,' he opened up in the message on social media. '7:30pm this Friday, I'm gonna set up and play 30 minutes or so acoustically.' "Then I'm gonna turn the stage over to a debut artist that will be doing their very first public performance!" There were shades of Gavin's floppy-haired 90s look as well as his angst-ridden raspy voice as Kingston confidently performed. And it went down well with supporters around the world, with one watching on YouTube, writing: "Oooh his voice is beautiful in this! He reminds me of his dad :) i hope he keeps singing." Gavin Rossdale opens up on co-parenting with Gwen Stefani during lockdown Another said: "He's got some definite potential! It shouldn't be too hard for him, as he's got the genes to start." A third posted: "Reminds me of his dad's song glycerine.. The tone of his voice got the music chops from both parents. He's good." Bush were bigger in the States than the UK, selling 10 million records in the US in the post-grunge boom in the middle of the decade. Their 1996 album Razorblade Suitcase topped the Billboard 200 in 1996, two years after debut Sixteen Stone reached number four. 5 Gavin and Gwen with sons Zuma and Kingston Credit: Getty 5 Gwen is now married to Blake Shelton Credit: Getty 5 Gavin with girlfriend Xhoana Xheneti Credit: Alamy They released two more albums before going on hiatus for eight years in 2002. Since then they have put out a further six albums. Meanwhile Gwen, 55, shot to fame as the platinum blonde, red-lipped singer of Ska veterans No Doubt. It wasn't until the release of third album, Tragic Kingdom, in 1995 that the band found major commercial success. It contained their most famous song, Don't Speak, which topped the US chart for 16 weeks. In the early noughties Gwen became a huge solo star off the back of hit tracks like Hollaback Girl, Rich Girl and Cool. In 2023 she returned to the stage in the UK as chief support to Pink. Inside Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani's relationship Gavin Rossdale, the charismatic frontman of the British rock band Bush, and Gwen Stefani, the effervescent lead singer of the American ska-pop group No Doubt, shared one of the most talked-about celebrity romances of their era. Their relationship was a transatlantic love story that combined edgy rock 'n' roll with vibrant pop sensibilities, captivating fans on both sides of the pond. The pair first crossed paths in 1995 when their bands were on tour together, and sparks flew almost instantly. Despite their differing musical styles and cultural backgrounds, they bonded over their shared passion for music and their mutual admiration for each other's artistry. Their relationship quickly blossomed, and they became one of the most iconic couples of the late '90s and early 2000s, often seen gracing red carpets and music events together. In 2002, after several years of dating, Gavin and Gwen tied the knot in not one but two glamorous ceremonies—one in London and another in Los Angeles — honouring their cross-continental roots. Their marriage seemed like a rock-solid union, and they went on to welcome three sons: Kingston, Zuma, and Apollo. Their family life appeared to be a picture of modern rock royalty, with the couple frequently gushing about their love for each other in interviews. However, behind the scenes, their relationship faced its share of challenges. In 2015, after 13 years of marriage, Gwen filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. In the years following their divorce, Gwen found love again with country music star Blake Shelton, while Gavin is now in a relationship with singer Xhoana X.
