Jude Law Allegedly Reprising Jod for Other Star Wars Projects

Jude Law entered the world of Star Wars in Skeleton Crew as a pirate with Force powers, and while a second season hasn't been announced, it does sound like we could be seeing more of Crimson Jack/Jod Na Nawood. According to insider Daniel RPK (via @screentime), Jod is expected to appear in other Star Wars projects. It's not clear which ones yet, but it's possible that he could appear in something close to the Mandalorian timeline since Skeleton Crew takes place only a few years after Return of the Jedi , but way past The Force Awakens . Personally, I was hoping for Jod and the kids to have their story take place after The Rise of Skywalker , but it's possible that Lucasfilm may want to keep expanded material away from that era in the meantime, since they're trying to rebuild a new trilogy with Rey Skywalker. As far as Jod's story goes, it looks like he's going to be taken into custody after the first season of Skeleton Crew , but there are some fans (specifically myself) who are almost positive that Jod is going to have some kind of redemption because the series is very specific about him wanting the treasure but not wanting to hurt any of the kids. We don't know when Jod is going to appear again, but you can check him out on his own space adventure with a bunch of silly kids in Skeleton Crew which is now streaming on Disney+.

SKELETON CREW Creator Jon Watts Isn't Done with STAR WARS Yet — GeekTyrant

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew creator Jon Watts has finally broken his silence about his future in the Star Wars galaxy, and while he's playing it close to the chest, he wants back in. During a moderated panel at the Mediterrane Film Festival, Watts was asked about returning to Star Wars after developing Skeleton Crew , the coming-of-age sci-fi series he co-created with Christopher Ford. His answer is carefully vague, but definitely loaded. 'I love Star Wars. I would love to do more Star Wars and I can't say anything more. I always get in trouble when I do these interviews and I always end up saying something, like, I get in trouble and shouldn't have said that.' When pressed further, specifically about the possibility of more Skeleton Crew , Watts responded with: 'I can't say exactly what it might be if it were even a thing.' So, he's either actively working on something or in talks to do so, and the NDA gods of Lucasfilm are keeping him muzzled. Skeleton Crew carved out its own identity in the Star Wars universe with a tone that mixed Amblin-style adventure with space opera charm. Watts and Ford pitched it to Kathleen Kennedy as 'Star Wars meets The Goonies,' and that spirit absolutely came through in the final product. It was about four kids, lost in the galaxy, trying to get home. That kind of emotional simplicity hit a different chord, and fans enjoyed it for the most part. The series also gave us Jude Law as Jod Na Nawood, a mysterious Force-wielding pirate with just enough grit to balance the show's sense of wonder. I liked the whole vibe and tone of the show. It expanded Star Wars without feeling disconnected, adding new planets, creatures like the Myykians, and fresh story perspectives within the familiar post- Return of the Jedi timeline. So, whether it's more Skeleton Crew or something entirely new, it's safe to say Watts is still in the orbit of Lucasfilm.

Alyssa Farah Griffin accidentally flashed Jude Law backstage at ‘The View'

Alyssa Farah Griffin accidentally gave Jude Law a full view. On Thursday's episode of 'The View,' the political strategist, 36, revealed an embarrassing moment while the ladies were doing their 'Hot Topics' segment. After Griffin and her co-hosts Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, and Ana Navarro discussed LeAnn Rimes' teeth falling out mid-concert last Friday night, the former White House director shared a private story of her own. 9 Jude Law on 'The View.' The View/ABC 'This isn't quite the same,' Griffin began, 'but I accidentally flashed my underwear to Jude Law backstage once.' 'I flashed up my skirt so she could help me move it, and Jude Law's just standing there,' she recalled. 9 Jude Law talks to the ladies on 'The View.' The View/ABC Although Law, 52, didn't say anything to Griffin, she still addressed the situation. 'I go, 'I'm sorry, sir!'' Griffin admitted. 'Like, I made it worse by calling him sir! And then I maybe curtsied! It was brutal.' The star didn't specify when this happened, but Law was most recently on 'The View' in November to discuss his series 'Skeleton Crew.' 9 Jude Law talks his new show on 'The View' in November. The View/ABC Haines, 47, also shared an embarrassing moment that occurred in 2013 when she appeared on 'Good Morning America.' An actor dressed as Spider-Man was tasked with catching the host as she fake fainted. Once on air, he couldn't complete the mission. 'He had caught me three times,' Haines explained. Hostin's confession comes just a week after she 'almost died on set' by eating walnuts. 'I wrote a note to Alyssa. I was like, 'I am deathly allergic to walnuts. Oh no,'' Hostin added. 'But guess what? The show must go on. That's what you do, and that's what LeAnn Rimes did. I give her credit for it.' 9 Alyssa Farah Griffin and Sunny Hostin on 'The View.' 'Then I just had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening or else I would have had to walk off stage,' Rimes detailed. 'And so, for the rest of the show, I was literally like this, pushing my teeth in.' Rimes also revealed that her teeth later 'fell in my mouth' as she sang 'Can't Fight the Moonlight' to the packed crowd. 9 LeAnn Rimes recounts her teeth falling out. Disney might have quietly canceled a beloved 'Star Wars' show — despite rating 92% on Rotten Tomatoes

"Star Wars" shows have been in a rough spot lately, but "Skeleton Crew" felt like a rare bright spot when it premiered at the end of last year. The show debuted to rave reviews. It initially scored a 94% "fresh" rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. As of this writing, it still sits at an impressive 92%. Our staff liked it as well. Our own Martin Shore said it was a "refreshing spin on a beloved franchise," and our TV/AV staff writer Ryan Epps also came away impressed. Unfortunately, though, we may have seen the last of "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew." One of the stars of the show is Ryan Kiera Armstrong as Fern, a human girl from the planet At Attin who is integral to the show. If there's a season 2, she'll almost certainly not be coming back. On May 15, Sarah Michelle Gellar jumped on a video call with Armstrong to reveal that she would be the star of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot, which was then posted to Instagram for all to see (h/t Bam Smack Pow). Armstrong taking on a lead role in another series almost certainly precludes her from returning for a potential "Star Wars: Skeleton Crew" season 2. It wouldn't be impossible, but it'd be an incredible feat for her to have a starring role in both shows. However, there's not necessarily a need to bring Armstrong's character, Fern, back for a season 2. The show ends in a way that would satisfyingly wrap up Fern's arc, if needed. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Of course, the problem is that the show satisfyingly wrapped up ... well, everything. It could stand on its own as a miniseries, and given that "Star Wars" seems to still be in the process of righting the ship, I think they'll probably leave well enough alone and leave a majority of the "Star Wars" TV shows behind. Malcolm has been with Tom's Guide since 2022, and has been covering the latest in streaming shows and movies since 2023. He's not one to shy away from a hot take, including that "John Wick" is one of the four greatest films ever made. Here's what he's been watching lately:

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors With the news that Ryan Kiera Armstrong of "Skeleton Crew" fame will be the new Slayer joining Sarah Michelle Gellar in her continuing adventures in the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" sequel series, the continuation of the Buffyverse feels closer than ever. Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Sarah Michelle Gellar as Buffy the Vampire Slayer. 20th Century Studios 5. Faith (Eliza Dushku) While she was a villain, Faith was one of Buffy's fiercest enemies, but with her redemption in Season 7 of the original "Buffy" series, she would make an even more satisfying guest appearance as an ally. Presumably, Buffy's going to be something of a mentor to Armstrong's younger Slayer, and an episode or two where Faith returns to teach her an alternate, less "academic" approach to slaying would be interesting. 4. Angel (David Boreanaz) There are going to be some obvious difficulties in bringing back any characters who played vampires - how can they play characters blessed with eternal youth when the actors are decades older? But the doomed romance between Buffy and Angel was at the very heart of the original series. Not to feature at least a cameo from the guy feels criminal. 3. Spike (James Marsters) Spike sacrifices himself in the original "Buffy" series finale, but thankfully, he's brought back in the fifth and final season of the spinoff "Angel". It might be a stretch to say that Spike and Buffy have any kind of unfinished business and it would likely be a good idea to leave any kind of romance between them in the past. But still, few characters in "Buffy" were as charismatic or beloved as Spike, and like Angel he deserves at least a cameo or two. 2. Giles (Anthony Stewart Head) As Buffy is trying to teach the new Slayer the ropes, she's going to find herself challenged, and who better to both give Buffy some tips and to perhaps enjoy watching her fall into familiar pitfalls than the librarian who suffered so many concussions as Buffy's Watcher? 1. Willow (Alyson Hannigan) Perhaps no one needs to have a guest appearance in the new series than Alyson Hannigan as Buffy's best friend Willow. Their friendship was the glue that kept the Scoobs together, and we know if Willow could help Buffy with anything to do with the new challenges she's facing, the powerful witch would be there in a second.
