"Youth given new opportunities through various schemes": Piyush Goyal

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], July 12 (ANI): Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday stated that the youth of the country have been given new opportunities through various schemes during the tenure of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Speaking to the reporters after presenting appointment letters at an employment fair in Mumbai, Piyush Goyal told reporters, 'It is a matter of great joy that today the 16th 'Rozgaar Mela' was organised under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi... During Prime Minister Modi's tenure, the youth of the country have been given new opportunities through various schemes... Through other schemes, he has provided many of our young men and women the chance to connect with the economy...' Minister of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Maharashtra, Mangal Prabhat Lodha, was also present. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India is rapidly moving towards becoming the world's third-largest economy, adding that the country has made progress across every sector in the last 11 years. Speaking at the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela, the Prime Minister said that India's manufacturing sector is one of its 'greatest strength' and that the government has taken steps to boost employment in the private sector. 'The focus of the Indian government is also on creating new employment opportunities in the private sector. Recently, the government has approved a new scheme - the Employment Linked Incentive scheme. Under this scheme, the government will provide Rs 15,000 to youth securing their first job in the private sector, meaning the government will contribute to the first salary of their first job. For this, the government has allocated a budget of about Rs 1 lakh crore, and this scheme will help in creating approximately 3.5 crore jobs,' he said. He also highlighted the steps taken to support manufacturing, saying, 'Today, one of India's greatest strengths is our manufacturing sector. A large number of new jobs are being created in manufacturing... To boost the manufacturing sector, Mission Manufacturing has been announced in this year Budget. In recent years, we have strengthened the Make in India campaign.' The Prime Minister said that two sectors in particular, electronics and mobile phone manufacturing, and defence manufacturing, have seen massive growth. 'From PLI scheme, 11 lakh jobs were created. In the recent years, mobile phones and electronic sectors saw unprecedented expansion. Today, electronics worth Rs 11 lakh crores are being manufactured. This sector has witnessed growth of more than 5 times in the last 11 years. Earlier, there were only 2-4 units of mobile phone manufacturing. Now, the number has increased to 300 units where lakhs of youth are working...' He also spoke about the rapid growth in defence production, especially after Operation Sindoor: 'There is one more such sector and after Operation Sindoor, it has been widely discussed. It is defence manufacturing. India is making new records in defence manufacturing. Our defence production has reached beyond Rs 1.25 lakh crores... Today, our country is rapidly moving towards becoming the world's third-largest economy. This is the marvel of the hard work of my youth. In the past 11 years, India has made progress across every sector,' he said. Quoting a report by the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the Prime Minister said that government welfare schemes have also helped boost employment. 'Recently, a report by the International Labour Organisation stated that in the past decade, over 90 crore citizens in India have been brought under the coverage of welfare schemes. The impact of these schemes goes beyond welfare -- they have also contributed significantly to employment generation. For instance, under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, over 4 crore houses have been built so far. And it's not just about providing homes. The process of building these houses has created countless job opportunities across the country. In this, most of the jobs were created in villages,' PM Modi added. (ANI)

Diesel disaster: 19 vehicles break down before M.P CM's visit

Bhopal At least 19 official vehicles arranged for Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav's visit broke down on Thursday evening after allegedly being refuelled with water-contaminated diesel at a fuel station in Ratlam district, officials said on Friday. The incident occurred around 8 p.m. at a petrol pump in Dosigaon village, where the vehicles, mostly SUVs, were refuelled and subsequently suffered engine failure. Emergency repair work was carried out on site, and an investigation was immediately launched. Speaking to The Hindu, Ratlam District Collector Rajesh Batham confirmed that preliminary testing of diesel samples from the pump showed 'a variation in diesel density.' 'An indicator installed at the pump also detected the presence of water in the diesel, yet the fuel was still being sold to customers,' Mr. Batham said. He added that the pump has been sealed and a formal inquiry is underway. An FIR has been registered against the fuel station management under relevant legal provisions. Mr. Batham clarified that the affected vehicles were not part of the Chief Minister's official convoy. 'Several vehicles are hired or arranged for various official duties. These particular vehicles had not yet been assigned to the Chief Minister's convoy when the incident occurred,' he said. Chief Minister Yadav was in Ratlam on Friday to attend the Regional Industry, Skill, and Employment Conclave — MP Rise 2025. The contamination incident caused confusion and chaos at the fuel station, prompting the arrival of officials from multiple departments, including the police. Videos from the scene showed mechanics attempting urgent repairs on the disabled vehicles. Additional vehicles were later requisitioned from Indore to ensure the event continued without disruption.

Mr. Batham, however, clarified that the affected vehicles were not part of the Chief Minister's convoy. 19 vehicles of MP CM's convoy break down

Bhopal, June 27 (UNI) In a bizarre incident, 19 vehicles of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav's convoy broke down together after diesel allegedly mixed with water was filled in their tanks at a fuel station in the Ratlam district of the state late Thursday night. Authorities carried out an inspection of the fuel station, and subsequently it was sealed. The stalled vehicles, mostly Toyota Innovas, had to be towed away and a replacement fleet was summoned hurriedly from Indore, to be used for the CM, who arrived in Ratlam on Friday afternoon and inaugurated the Regional Industry, Skill, and Employment (RISE) Conclave. According to officials, the vehicles had refueled at the 'Shakti Petrol Pump' at Dosigaon in Ratlam district. According to Additional Collector Shalini Shrivastava, samples of diesel were collected immediately after the matter came to light. She said the petrol pump was sealed soon after. A team of officials collected fuel samples for testing and also checked the petrol pump's underground fuel tank. Officials are investigating whether water was mixed deliberately in diesel or if rain water had seeped into the underground fuel storage tank. UNI XC PRS
