‘Australian hero': Debate rages over Acknowledgement of Country ceremonies
Institute of Public Affairs Research Fellow Mia Schlicht says Welcome to Country ceremonies are becoming 'quite divisive'. This comes amid a council worker who won a court case for refusing to participate in a Welcome to Country ceremony. 'I think he is an Australian hero,' Ms Schlicht told Sky News host Steve Price. 'There's no doubt that these Welcome to Country's have just gone too far, they're overused and quite frankly they've lost their meaning. 'They're becoming quite divisive.'

Higher dropout rate caused by ‘woke' and ‘dumbed down' school curriculum
Author Kevin Donnelly says the Australian curriculum is becoming 'very woke' and 'dumbed down', creating disengagement among students, which is leading to higher dropout rates. Mr Donnelly claims the poor results in terms of retention relate to "government schools'. 'If you look at non-government schools … their retention rate is over 90 per cent,' Mr Donnelly told Sky News host Steve Price. 'There needs to be a greater focus on classroom discipline where teachers are authority figures and students do what they're told.'

Proposal to create Victoria CCTV database which would fast track work for detectives
Former Victoria police detective Dave Bartlett discusses a proposal to save Victorian police officers a million hours of work a year by creating a CCTV registry. Homeowners and shop owners would be able to voluntarily add their cameras to a database, which would fast-track the slow process for detectives, where they usually face delays when trying to access CCTV footage. 'At the moment they don't know where these cameras are, so they have to manually look for it, it's very laborious and very expensive, and it actually leads to slower closure times for investigations,' Mr Bartlett told Sky News host Steve Price. 'It takes the administrative burden from Victorian police.'

Body found in search for woman last seen in Coventry in May - as man charged with murder
A body has been found in the search for a woman who was last seen in Coventry - as a man has been charged with murder. Reanne Coulson, 34, went missing in May and concerns were raised by her family after she failed to make contact with them on her birthday on 17 June. Officers searching for Ms Coulson found a body in Binley Woods on Friday afternoon, West Midlands Police said. Formal identification is yet to take place, but the family of Ms Coulson have been informed, officers added. Mohammed Durnion was arrested as part of the investigation into her disappearance. The 42-year-old has now been charged with murder. A second man, Adam Moore, who's 38 and from the city, has been charged with assisting an offender. Both will appear before Coventry Magistrates' Court on Saturday. Detective Superintendent Jim Munro, from the force's major crime unit, said their thoughts remain Reanne's family "at this deeply distressing time". "While formal identification still needs to take place, we do believe it is Reanne. We've charged a man with murder, and another for assisting an offender, but our inquiries to establish exactly what happened and why are ongoing," he said. Read more from Sky News: Ms Coulson's older brother Ashley told police he wanted to pass on his thanks to the public for their help but also asked that the family are left alone to grieve. Specialist search teams, including police dogs, have been searching Binley Woods as well as other areas of land in neighbouring Warwickshire since Wednesday. Ms Coulson was last seen leaving a food bank on Raglan Street in Coventry late in the evening of 21 May. Reanne's twin sister Kirsten also made a direct appeal to people who were in nearby Vauxhall Street on the same night, asking them to come forward if they had information about her disappearance.
