Australians have avoided some of their favourite snacks going into short supply after a fire broke out at the Smiths Snackfood Co Limited warehouse in Adelaide. Seven fire trucks were dispatched to the fire at the warehouse in Regency Park late on Monday night. The warehouse is responsible for the manufacturing of several iconic Aussie and American snackfoods including Smith's chips, Doritos, Twisties, Red Rock Deli chips, Burger Rings and Nobby's pub food snacks. Memorial Day weekend is what kicks off the start of a busy time of the year for one local company best known for its hot dogs. Representatives from Smith's Provisions said they got off to a bit of a late start this year due to producing hams for Easter, but they've ramped up hot dog production ever since. Presque Isle beaches set to open for season Memorial Day Weekend Five weeks ago, they started building up a massive inventory of hot dogs for people to enjoy on holiday weekends and throughout the summer. 'Obviously, Memorial Day is about those who have served and sacrificed, and at Smith's here, we just hope as part of that celebration, when you're celebrating those people, you choose to serve Smith's to your family and friends at that time,' said Ray Kallner, vice president of sales, marketing and business administration for Smith's. APD finds 120,000 fentanyl pills, AR rifle in car belonging to man who drove with girlfriend on hood

May 15—A 911 call about a woman on the hood of a moving vehicle in Southeast Albuquerque led police to discover 120,000 fentanyl pills and thousands of dollars in cash in the driver's possession. David Cervantes, 27, of Veguita, is charged with aggravated battery of a household member, kidnapping and six counts of trafficking a controlled substance and possession of more than 8 ounces of marijuana. Cervantes is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center. His attorney said he had no comment. Police identified Cervantes through video surveillance from the Smith's grocery store at Yale and Coal SE, according to a criminal complaint filed at Metropolitan Court. On April 29, the Albuquerque Police Department received a call of a woman on the hood of a moving vehicle outside the Smith's, according to the complaint. Security guards told police a man and woman were arguing before leaving in a vehicle with her on the hood. The vehicle crashed a few blocks away and officers found Cervantes injured at the scene, and he told them he was driving, police said. A witness told police he saw a woman, who told police she was Cervantes' girlfriend, fall off the car before the crash. She was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the complaint. The girlfriend told police the two had gotten into an argument when he took her purse and drove off, the complaint states. Police said officers saw a gun in the vehicle and had it towed to be searched at a later date. On May 2, police searched the vehicle and found an AR-style rifle, 120,000 fentanyl pills, almost 28,890 Xanax/Oxycodone pills, 359 grams of cocaine, 56 THC concentrate packages and $49,940 in cash.
