Robbie Williams during Soccer Aid 2025 |Robbie Williams, who helped to start the charity event back in the 2000s, announced at the end of the game on Sunday (June 15) night that they had raised over £15m this year. Which charity does Soccer Aid raise money for? Since its inception back in 2008, the charity match has been in the aid of raising money for Unicef UK. It is a UN organisation aimed at helping children in less developed countries across the world. Following the announcement of the amount raised this year, the charity posted on X (formerly Twitter): 'What a game! 🙌 Thanks to your support Soccer Aid for UNICEF has raised a life-changing £15,280,163 to help children worldwide!' How much has Soccer Aid raised over the years? Since the first edition was held back in 2006, Soccer Aid has taken place 14 times as of 2025. After taking place more sporadically, it became an annual event in 2018 and even continued throughout the pandemic. Zara took to her Instagram stories to update her fans and explain why she was stepping away from social media for a short while. "I also just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who messaged me with regards to the story I posted the other day," she began. "If you didn't see it; I spoke about developing my next documentary and how I've been thinking of how to create a project about domestic abuse, coercive control and tech abuse." Zara revealed she had received thousands of message from people who had stories to share and she was still going through them. "But I wanted to say the biggest thank you ever. It's so nice speaking to you all because I've definitely taken a bit of a step back from socials to focus on my documentaries and other work just focusing on being more present recently," she explained. The TV star added: "Social media feels quite heavy and a negative space sometimes... so to be able to feel like we can work together to do something super positive is a great feeling. thank you again. forever grateful to all of you who continue to support the work i do. it really means SO much." Her post comes just days after Sam and Louis came face to face while representing England in the charity football match, Soccer Aid. The pair had already crossed paths on the training pitch last week, prior to Sam pulling out of the game due to injury and later attended the same pre-game dinner. Both men looked relaxed this evening as they milled around their hotel with fellow squad members. Zara has already ruled herself out of attending the star-studded match. Sam presented a video of his charity work in Guatemala to both sets of players, something he found much more nerve-racking than meeting Louis. He said: 'I did a small talk in front of everyone, which was terrifying, and I maintain I think it's the most important thing I've done in my 32 years of life. 'I really do believe that. Getting to go to Guatemala to see what UNICEF do on the ground is just life-changing.'

Angry Ginge's spat with Carlos Tevez heats up as X-rated Soccer Aid remark made
Manchester United fan Angry Ginge made an X-rated revelation about Carlos Tevez during his live stream, having clashed with the former Argentina star during Soccer Aid Angry Ginge continued his running feud with Carlos Tevez by labelling the football legend a "f***ing traitor" after their Soccer Aid clash. Popular streamer Angry Ginge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, lived out his childhood dream of playing on the Old Trafford turf during Sunday's charity game. The lifelong United fan played in defence for England during Soccer Aid 2025, which meant he faced former Red Devils striker Tevez, who represented the World XI. Tevez won two Premier League titles and the Champions League with United but infamously joined rivals Manchester City in 2009. He instantly became a loathed figure at the Theatre of Dreams and severed all ties by celebrating against his former club during a Manchester Derby. That was evidently still fresh in Burtwistle's mind as the YouTuber saw his chance to get revenge during Sunday's friendly game, flying in with a crunching challenge on the Argentine. He got the ball but Tevez was left unhappy with the aggressive nature of the challenge and made sure to leave something on Ginge, slightly kicking out at the defender. Tevez quickly realised where he was and decided to then shake hands with the 23-year-old. For Ginge, however, the bad blood remained beyond the final whistle as he took to Instagram to post a photo of a nasty gash on his leg courtesy of Tevez. His caption read: "Cheers Tevez, t***," echoing his thoughts on the Boca Juniors icon, having once admitted that he "can't stand" him. And he wasn't done there, later revealing on one of his live streams that he had his match-worn Soccer Aid shirt signed by everyone on both teams, except Tevez, who he slammed. The internet personality said: "Look at that. Signed by every single person on the team. And the away team. Bar one man. The f***ing traitor. Tevez ain't signing my f***ing shirt. Not in a million years. No chance." Tevez had the last laugh, however, scoring four goals in just 15 minutes to lead the World XI's comeback. He was booed after each goal by the crowd but appeared to revel in his role as the pantomime villain, cupping his ear and pointing to the name on the back of his shirt. He managed to level the game, which paved the way for musician Big Zuu to score the late winner and secure a memorable 5-4 victory. Zuu emphatically celebrated with his own version of Cristiano Ronaldo's Siu celebration. Ginge, meanwhile, had the consolation of being awarded Player of the Match over Tevez. His tireless defensive work included diving across the goal to stop France World Cup winner David Trezeguet from scoring the equaliser.
