Subscribe to our FREE A man was forcibly pushed into a lorry container during a street altercation in Puchong on Tuesday evening (22 July), leading to a police investigation that has resulted in four arrests. The abduction occurred along Jalan Persiaran Puchong Permai during a fight in the middle of the road. Police received reports of the incident at 6:38 pm the same day, with four individuals suspected of being involved in forcibly taking the victim using a lorry. The victim was found around 10:20 pm the same day along the SS19 road in Subang Jaya with minor injuries. Swift Arrests and Evidence Recovery Police immediately arrested a 32-year-old local man at the scene who had tattoos and was suspected of being a gang member. Background checks revealed he has two previous criminal records. Subang Jaya district police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said three additional suspects, aged 18 and 19, were detained on Thursday night (24 July) around 10pm in operations conducted in Ulu Selangor and Puchong areas. During the arrests, police recovered the victim's clothing and mobile phone. All suspects have been remanded to assist with the investigation. The initial suspect was held from 23 to 26 July, and court applications have been made to extend the remand for the others. Charges Filed and Manhunt Continues Police believe the incident stems from a dispute over debt. The case is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code (wrongful confinement), Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), and Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966. Police nab suspect linked to Puchong abduction
KUALA LUMPUR: Police arrested one of the four individuals suspected to be involved in the abduction of a man using a lorry following an altercation along Jalan Persiaran Puchong Permai on Tuesday (July 22). Subang Jaya police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat ( pic ) said the 32-year-old male suspect was arrested by the roadside at SS19, Subang Jaya, at 10 pm. "The suspect was found to have two past offences in his criminal record and has been remanded for four days until Saturday (July 26),' he said in a statement on Wednesday (July 23). He said preliminary investigations found that the incident is believed to have occurred due to a debt dispute, adding that police are tracking down three more suspects to assist in investigations under sections 365 and 323 of the Penal Code and Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966 Those with information regarding the incident are urged to contact Investigating Officer Insp G. The arrest followed a tip-off from a member of the public who witnessed a group of men forcing the victim into a lorry in Puchong at about 6.38pm, said Subang Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Wan Azlan Wan Mamat. "Initial investigations revealed that the 32-year-old suspect arrested and his three accomplices, who are still at large, were involved in the incident that has since gone viral. "The victim, however, was also found with the suspect at the time of the arrest," Wan Azlan said in a statement today. He said the motive of the alleged abduction is believed to be linked to a debt dispute. Wan Azlan said the suspect was arrested at 10pm in the SS19 area. He said checks on the suspect showed he had two past criminal records. "Based on the tattoos on the suspect, we have strong reasons to believe that he is also a member of a secret society gang. He has been remanded for four days from July 23 to assist investigations," he said. He added that the case is being investigated under Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping with intent to confine, which carries a jail term of up to seven years or a fine. It is also being investigated under Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt, which carries a jail term of up to one year or a fine of up to RM2,000, and under Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966, which provides for a jail term of up to three years or a fine of up to RM5,000 upon conviction. Yesterday, it was reported that a video of the incident had been captured and was making its rounds on social media platforms. Wan Azlan said police were tracking down the suspects involved in the alleged abduction and the circumstances surrounding the incident. "We are still looking for the remaining suspects who were seen in the recording," he said.
