Starting your baby on food can be a daunting, scary process. And while mums have depended for years on purees and soft, easy to eat foods for their babies, there's another approach that often causes controversy. Namely baby led weaning (BLW). Instead of spoon-feeding your baby pureed or mashed foods, BLW means offering them "only finger foods and letting them feed themselves from the start", "You can offer a range of small, finger-sized pieces of food," they added. "Some parents prefer baby-led weaning to spoon feeding, while others combine a bit of both. "There's no right or wrong way – the most important thing is that your baby eats a wide variety of food and gets all the nutrients they need."

Mainland tourists treat their taste buds in Hong Kong, from egg waffles to fish balls
Hong Kong's signature street food such as egg waffles and fish balls, as well as restaurants with local characteristics, are among popular catering choices for mainland Chinese tourists visiting the city at the start of the Labour Day 'golden week' holiday on Thursday. Advertisement Mainland visitors were found queuing up at traditional noodle shops, the city's iconic Softee ice-cream trucks, restaurants favoured by Cantopop singers and other stalls selling street food on the first day of the five-day holiday. Many mainlanders were also among over 200 people at the West Kowloon Cultural District's Art Park, enjoying their food and drinks at a jazz concert. One of them was Yuki Yang Ruoqi, 28, an online store owner from Guangzhou, who said she would stay in Hong Kong until Sunday and planned to spend less than HK$4,000 (US$515). 'Even though I'm not a music lover, I bought a glass of champagne and some snacks for a picnic here. In fact, this kind of leisure lifestyle of Hong Kong people is something we can look forward to during the holidays,' she said. Advertisement Zheng Lichang, 26, a skincare product salesperson from Shenzhen, came to West Kowloon to sample the city's charcoal-grilled egg waffles.
