Post Malone suffers onstage fall ahead of San Francisco show

Before bringing his Big Ass Stadium Tour to San Francisco, Post Malone had a big ass fall. The Grammy-winner, whose real name is Austin Richard Post, fell off stage during a concert at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., a little more than a week before his first-ever headlining country tour is set to wrap up at Oracle Park on Tuesday, July 1. A now-viral clip shared to TikTok shows the singer walking down the catwalk and kneeling down to raise his red Solo Cup to toast a fan while performing his hit duet with Blake Shelton, 'Somebody Pour Me a Drink,' at the June 21 show. But part of the stage quickly gave out, causing Post Malone to lose his balance, sending him to the floor as fans screamed. 'I am SO sorry Austin,' read the video caption, which was posted on June 22 and has amassed more than 626,000 likes. 'I love you! Such an amazing show.' The Outside Lands 2024 headliner was able to quickly compose himself and finish the remainder of his set. So far, his subsequent shows have been going smoothly. Post Malone's Arizona incident is far from the first time he's had to deal with onstage mishaps. The rapper fell through a trap door during a St. Louis concert in September 2022 that sent him to the hospital for bruised ribs. He updated fans on his condition via a video shared to X, and wound up cancelling a Boston show a few days later due to ongoing pain. That October, he twisted his ankle after stepping into a pyrotechnic hole onstage in Atlanta. He attempted to shake it off, but shared with fans that he was injured during the show. Post Malone, who shot to fame in 2015 with his debut rap/R&B single 'White Iverson,' returned to his Texas roots last year, performing an all-country set at Southern California's Stagecoach festival. In August, he released his country debut album, 'F-1 Trillion.' Though he still performs hits from across his discography, including fan-favorite rap tracks, his aesthetic now largely centers on his new record. Post Malone's current trek, which features support from Nashville country artist Jelly Roll, began in late April in Salt Lake City and has stopped at a total of 26 cities. His San Francisco concert on Tuesday night marks his first Bay Area performance since his show at Mountain View's Shoreline Amphitheatre last August.

Blake Shelton Reveals How Post Malone Got Him 'Fired Up' to Record New Album 'For Recreational Use Only'

Blake Shelton's new album had some help from Post Malone. During a Tuesday, May 13, appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the country star spoke about how Malone, 29, inspired him for his latest album, For Recreational Use Only. "I mean, in some ways. Post Malone kind of got me -- a fire lit under me," Shelton, 48, began. He also mentioned the summer 2024 collaboration they worked on, "Somebody Pour Me a Drink," calling it "fun." "You know, it's been four years since I put out a record. So I had the song with him," he continued, mentioning Malone's contagious energy, "You've been around him. I mean, you can't be around that guy without having a good time, and he's just so excited about everything." is now available in the Apple App Store! Like, he had me fired up again from that song." The result was Shelton's album which dropped on Friday, May 9. Fallon, 50, commended Malone's range of being able to sing across genres, and Shelton said that Malone should stick with country. Shelton also performed his new song "Texas" on the late-night talk show. The "God's Country" artist told PEOPLE earlier this month about his collaboration with the "Circles" singer following his exit from The Voice in 2023 after 23 seasons. "It took about a year before I even was open to the idea of, 'What's next?' " he said. He was then contacted by Malone to work on "Somebody Pour Me A Drink." The song's success "lit a fire under me," Shelton added. Shelton will be returning to The Voice for their season finale on May 20, and he is "excited" to see everyone on the reality singing competition series. "The crew and everybody backstage, they become your family, you know?" he said of the show where he met his wife, Gwen Stefani, 10 years earlier. "And I haven't seen a lot of those people in however long that's been. A couple of years now, I guess." For Recreational Use Only is available now. The Voice season 27 finale airs Tuesday, May 20 at 8 p.m. on NBC and is available to stream on Peacock the following day. Read the original article on People
