Jimmy Fallon surprises Fairport pub, sings with locals in visit
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – It's an annual endeavor usually done around St. Patrick's Day: Jimmy Fallon, host of The Tonight Show, makes a pit stop in Fairport. Saturday night was no different, as the talk show host showed up unannounced at Mulconry's Irish Pub. He sang songs with the crowd, and at least one local artist scheduled to perform had the unique opportunity to sing a duet with Fallon! Sam Nitsch, who News 8 has featured before as part of our Songs from Studio B series hosted by Dan Gross, sang Creep by Radio Head with Fallon! 'Oh man. It was an absolutely unreal experience! I was actually watching him on the SNL 50th Anniversary Special the night before and to go from that to singing Radiohead on stage with him the next day is something that's going to take a while to process,' Nitsch told News 8. 'I can't thank him and Damien Mulconry enough for shining the spotlight on me and my music for a moment. Jimmy genuinely seemed like someone who gets a lot of joy from uplifting the community. It's definitely a story I'll be telling for the rest of my life haha.' Fallon spent much of his childhood in Saugerties of the Capital Region, and has a connection to Mulconry's as a close friend of its owner. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
