11 illegal shops built on 12,000 sq ft govt land demolished
Indore: Indore district administration on Wednesday demolished 11 illegally-constructed shops on govt land in Pipliyakumar village and freed 12,000 sq ft of land, with an estimated market value of over Rs 25 crore. The action was initiated after Collector Asheesh Singh took cognizance of a video circulating on social media that showed the encroachment. Following this, Sub-Divisional Officer (Juni Indore) Pradeep Soni was directed to conduct an inquiry. Soni reported that an investigation carried out by Tehsildar (Juni Indore) Preeti Bhise along with Revenue Inspector and Patwari, confirmed that the land bearing Khasra number 294 in Pipliyakumar village, was indeed recorded as govt land in revenue records. It was found that Amjad, a resident of Khajrana, Indore, had encroached upon this land by constructing 11 shops. Following the investigation, the Court of Tehsildar (Juni Indore) issued an eviction order and imposed a fine of Rs one lakh on the encroacher for illegally occupying govt land. The district administration team, supported by the Municipal Corporation's removal team, carried out the demolition of the 11 shops on Wednesday. Soni confirmed that 12,000 sq ft of govt land was freed from encroachment and its market value exceeded Rs 25 crore. He said that fencing would be erected to secure the reclaimed land. "This ongoing campaign by the district administration aims to continuously take action against those who encroach upon govt land in Indore," he said.

She recommends other nutrient-dense options like leafy greens, seeds, and legumes for those who wish to avoid sprouts altogether. However, according to Dr Soni, it comes with significant safety concerns. 'The grinding process increases the surface area of the meat, allowing harmful bacteria such as E. coli and Salmonella to infiltrate more easily,' she explains. If ground meat isn't cooked to the proper temperature, these pathogens can survive and cause serious foodborne illnesses. Dr Soni advises that ground meat should always be cooked thoroughly, reaching an internal temperature of at least 71°C (160°F). She also underscores the importance of proper handling: 'Store ground meat at the correct temperature, avoid cross-contamination in the kitchen, and consume it promptly to minimise risks.' While these foods carry risks, Dr Soni emphasises that proper handling and preparation can mitigate most concerns. 'It's not about outright banning foods but about understanding how to consume them safely,' she says. Her advice aligns with broader food safety practices: Navigating food choices in a world flooded with information requires discernment. While ground meat and raw sprouts may pose risks, understanding how to handle and prepare them safely allows you to enjoy a varied and nutritious diet. Banter turns bloody as history-sheeter kills ‘friend'
Vadodara: A bit of banter turned deadly for a 28-year-old man who was stabbed to death by a 'friend' in the Raopura area of the city early on Monday morning. According to investigators, the victim, Yash Thakur , who worked at a roadside eatery, had been hanging out with his friends Bhim Bahadur Soni and Mehul Mali. Thakur had met Soni and Mali near a mall in the Tarsali area. The trio got onto a two-wheeler and went to have tea. After a while, they decided to visit the tea stall run by Soni's brother near SSG Hospital. While riding to the old city, there was an argument between Soni and Thakur over some jokes. Thakur got off the two-wheeler and decided to return home on his own. He even phoned another friend to pick him up. Soni and Mali went back to him and insisted that he travel with them, saying they would drop him home. "Thakur agreed and got back onto the two-wheeler. The argument with Soni soon flared up again and Thakur abused him. An enraged Soni stopped the two-wheeler near the govt press next to Kothi Crossroads, drew a knife and stabbed Thakur in the chest," said H A Rathod, ACP (crime). Thakur fell at the spot, after which Soni and Mali fled, at about 3am. Passersby saw Thakur in a pool of blood and called police. We tracked down Mali to the Tarsali area and he admitted that Soni had committed the crime," a police officer said. Police then apprehended Soni. Police said Soni has a history of offences such murder, assault and prohibition violation. He had killed a man in Makarpura when he was a minor. "The investigation thus far points to the involvement of these two. Raopura police will investigate the case further," Rathod said.

The Case The complainant, Soni's mother, claimed that her son broke open the lock and took over the flat while she was away attending court. According to her, he shouted abuses from inside the flat when she returned with her daughter. Delhi Police informed the court that a previous order had granted possession of the flat to the complainant. They also said there had been several police complaints and calls against Soni, including preventive legal action in the past. Live Events Soni's lawyer argued that the case was not one of illegal possession. He claimed that his client had been given the property willingly under a verbal agreement. He also showed family photos taken in the flat, suggesting they were already living there before 10 July. He questioned why no legal steps like eviction or contempt were taken if the possession was truly illegal. The prosecution disagreed, saying Soni had planned in advance to take over the flat unlawfully. They argued that even if the mother wasn't living there, she still legally possessed the property. The investigating officer said no CCTV footage or video evidence had been found to prove whether Soni broke in. After reviewing the facts, the court said it was inclined to grant bail to Nitin Soni.
