There was a Mid-Race Fight on Pit Row During NASCAR at Sonoma
Midway through NASCAR's Sonoma race, a fight occurred on pit row between the pit crews of the RFK No. 6 team and the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 54 team. When a tire changer on the No. 6 crew had his tire hit by Ty Gibbs, twisting his wrists and affecting the stop.
As Gibbs entered his pit stall, he drove quickly through the No. 6 pit stall of Brad Keslowski, hitting one of the two tires in Telvin McClurkin's hands.
NASCAR on TNT's Danielle Trotta talked with McClurkin after the fight and shared what he said to her on the broadcast.
"When the No. 54 car came in, I was holding that tire, and Ty Gibbs' car hit my hands and twisted my wrist," Trotta recounted McClurkin saying I was able to complete the stop, but it slowed Brad's stop. My wrist and my hands are okay, I'm going to continue, I'm fine, but he wanted to walk over to the No. 54 pit and show his displeasure."
RFK released the footage from their Pit Stall camera, asking fans to be the judge, if Gibbs aimed at the tire changer or not.
Earlier on track, Gibbs was hit by Chris Buescher, an RFK driver with a similar paint scheme to the one Keselowski usually runs.
