More than a decade later, Austin Nichols is ready to get back to his roots on the pending One Tree Hill continuation at Netflix. At Monday's world premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer, in which he plays Pastor Judah, the actor revealed whether he'd reprise his role as filmmaker Julian Baker in the revival of the WB/CW drama, which originally ran for nine seasons from 2003 to 2012. 'I spent a lot of years doing that show and fell in love with Wilmington, North Carolina, and made a lot of great friends there. We had a lot of fun. And ultimately, when something still has this kind of excitement around it this many years later, you kinda go, 'Oh my god! Yeah, why not make more of it? People still watch it and love it.' 'So, I think it could be great. I know that they're writing scripts, and there's been some notes and some back and forth. It sounds good. Hopefully we have some good news soon,' added Nichols. Nichols joined the series with Season 6 in 2008, ending up married to Sophia Bush's Brooke Davis with twin sons at the end of the show's nine-season run. Sophia Bush Says She Endured 'Every Kind of Abuse' on Show Due to Older Man
Actress Sophia Bush alleged she was was on the receiving end of 'every kind of abusive' treatment while filming a television show. The One Tree Hill veteran made the claims during an episode of Monica Lewinsky's podcast Reclaiming that was released Tuesday. More from The Hollywood Reporter Kim Raver on Steering 'Grey's Anatomy's' First Open Marriage and Directing That Almost Sex Scene Sophia Bush's Role on 'Grey's Anatomy' Revealed Sophia Bush Joins 'Grey's Anatomy' Season 21 in Recurring Role While Bush did not name the show, she gave several context clues (such as the date she left the series) so that one might assume she was talking about her years on NBC's hit procedural Chicago P.D., where she played Detective Erin Lindsay. She left the show after 84 episodes and has previously described it as a grueling experience. 'I was in this great place [after One Tree Hill], and I was ready for what was next,' Bush said. 'And I did this comedy that I loved … for CBS. Then I went to work on this other show that was on my bucket list and then I had this whole other trauma. I had a workplace ongoing trauma revolving around an unending situation with someone old enough to be my father. And I was like, what is happening?' Lewinsky then asked if Bush was referring to an inappropriate relationship that was professional or romantic, and whether she meant emotional abuse or some other kind. 'Professional — and every kind of abusive,' Bush said. 'When I look back at it, I had the opportunity after two years to go. And I did the thing I learned to do and said, 'I will not have my integrity diminished by someone else's behavior. I will be unflappable. I will come to work and do my job and I couldn't.' Continued Bush: 'The next two years were like physical hell for me. And to go through spontaneous illness, wake up covered in hives, to have a really crazy weight fluctuations, to watching my hair fall out, to struggle with insomnia, to have crippling anxiety as an extrovert who loves people, to be hit with anxiety in a way that I could barely be out of the house. If people touched me in public, I would jump out of my skin. I couldn't talk to strangers anymore. I couldn't be looked at anymore … I had to go to work ready for war all the time. I had to learn how to block a scene in order not to be touched.' Bush said she left the series in April 2017, right before the rise of the #MeToo movement. That October, she says she received an apologetic phone call from 'an executive.' 'I got a call from an executive apologizing for what they had done and not done,' she said. 'And [the executive] said, 'We're very aware that we just made it out of that unscathed.' And I was like, 'Glad you did. I'm in so much therapy. I even diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But I'm thrilled you guys didn't get dragged through the press, that's great.' Bush noted that she's told specific details of her experience to others and then 'watched the horror on their face,' which helped her realize, 'Oh, I'm not crazy. I was just in an environment where no one wanted to hear it because it was a threat to the machine.' Bush previously said on the Armchair Expert podcast, specifically of her years on Chicago P.D., 'Nearing my tenure there, I was probably difficult to be around because I was in so much pain and I felt so ignored. I feel like I was standing butt naked, bruised and bleeding in the middle of Times Square, screaming at the top of my lungs and not a single person stopped to ask if they could help me.' NBC had no immediate comment. Bush has been back on broadcast television this season with a recurring guest role on ABC's Grey's Anatomy. Sophia Bush details harrowing abuse on the set of huge US show that lasted years
Sophia Bush allegedly suffered 'every kind' of abuse from an older man while working on her dream show. 'I had a workplace ongoing trauma revolving around an unending situation with someone old enough to be my father,' Bush said in Tuesday's episode of the Reclaiming With Monica Lewinsky podcast. The actress said the show was on her 'bucket list,' and while she didn't name the title, Bush confirmed that it was a series she signed onto after starring in One Tree Hill from 2003 to 2012. Bush, 42, notably portrayed Erin Lindsay in Chicago P.D. from 2014 to 2017 — leaving after Season 4 due to its alleged toxic work environment. When Lewinsky asked Bush, who has previously discussed being 'miserable' on the set, if she experienced something 'emotionally abusive' on set, Bush described it as 'every kind of abusive.' 'I did the thing I learned to do and said, 'I will not have my integrity diminished by someone else's behaviour. I will be unflappable. I will come to work and do my job.' And I couldn't,' she said. Bush described the last two years on the show as a 'physical hell' before she ended her run on the series. She allegedly suffered horrific symptoms from the stress of the situation, getting a 'spontaneous illness,' waking up 'covered in hives,' having 'really crazy weight fluctuation' and even losing her hair.' Additionally, Bush couldn't sleep due to her 'crippling anxiety.' 'To be hit with anxiety in such a way that I could barely be out of the house. If people touched me in public, I would jump out of my skin,' Bush recalled. 'I couldn't talk to people anymore. I couldn't talk to strangers anymore. I couldn't be looked at anymore.' Bush, comparing the trauma to a 'physical attack,' said she could no longer self-regulate and felt that her body was not her own. 'Because I had to go to work ready for war all the time, I had to learn where to stand to not get elbowed in the ribs or how to block a scene to not be touched. It was just exhausting,' she claimed. Bush said she was 'finally' able to exit the police drama in April 2017 – just three months before the #MeToo movement rocked Hollywood. 'By October [2017], I got a call from an executive apologising for what they'd done and not done,' she claimed. 'And [they] said, 'We're very aware we just made it out of that unscathed.'' Bush continued, 'I was like, 'Glad you did, I'm in so much therapy. I've been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder, but I'm thrilled you guys didn't get dragged through the press.'' The TV star admitted that it was a 'weird thing to deal with.' While Bush initially left the show without giving a reason, she later admitted to 'drowning' on set of the NBC show in a December 2017 interview. The following year she shared on The Armchair Expert podcast that she 'felt so ignored' during her stint on the series. 'I feel like I was standing butt naked, bruised and bleeding in the middle of Times Square, screaming at the top of my lungs and not a single person stopped to ask if they could help me,' she said at the time. Sophia Bush claims she suffered 'every kind' of abuse from 'older man' on TV show
Sophia Bush has made serious allegations about suffering 'every kind' of abuse from 'someone old enough to be my father' on the set of a TV series, which had been on her 'bucket list.' Based on the timing, the 42-year-old One Tree Hill alum was most likely referring to her role as Detective Erin Lindsay in NBC procedural Chicago P.D., which she exited in 2017 after four seasons. 'I had a workplace, ongoing trauma revolving around an unending situation with someone old enough to be my father and I was like what is happening?' Sophia recalled on Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky Tuesday. 'When I look back at it, I had the opportunity after two years to go. I did the thing I learned to do and said, "I will not have my integrity diminished by someone else's behavior. I will be unflappable. I will come to work and do my job." And I couldn't.' Bush went on to describe the following two years as 'physical hell' where she would suffer spontaneous illness, hives, hair loss, crippling anxiety, insomnia, and 'really crazy weight fluctuation.' 'As an extrovert who loves people, to be hit with anxiety in such a way that I could barely be out of the house - if people touched me in public, I would jump out of my skin,' the SoCal native explained. 'Because I had to go to work ready for war all the time, I had to learn where to stand to not get elbowed in the ribs or how to block a scene to not be touched. It was just exhausting.' Six months after her character was written off the show, Sophia received a call from an 'executive apologizing for what they'd done and not done' during the height of the #MeToo movement. 'And [they] said, "We're very aware we just made it out of [MeToo] unscathed,"' Bush scoffed. 'And I was like "Glad you did! I'm in so much therapy. I've been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, but I'm thrilled you guys didn't get dragged through the press!"' And while the four male showrunners on Chicago P.D. are all in their 50s, the billionaire creator Dick Wolf - who also masterminded the Law & Order and FBI franchises - happens to be 78 years old. And two of the Work in Progress podcaster's former castmates - Elias Koteas and Jason Beghe - are in their 60s. Sophia reunited with her Grey's Anatomy co-star Chris Carmack for Jeff Fisher's switched-at-birth psychological thriller The Stranger in My Home, which premieres June 24 via VOD. Bush added: 'When I look back at it, I had the opportunity after two years to go. I did the thing I learned to do and said, "I will not have my integrity diminished by someone else's behavior. I will be unflappable. I will come to work and do my job." And I couldn't' Sophia said: 'As an extrovert who loves people, to be hit with anxiety in such a way that I could barely be out of the house - if people touched me in public, I would jump out of my skin. Because I had to go to work ready for war all the time, I had to learn where to stand to not get elbowed in the ribs or how to block a scene to not be touched' On the personal front, Bush might have secretly married her girlfriend Ashlyn Harris as they've both wearing wedding bands on their left ring fingers during the past two weeks. The Freedom Hair actress finalized her divorce from second ex-husband Grant Hughes on December 30 after 13 months of marriage. The 39-year-old retired soccer goalkeeper co-parents two adopted children - daughter Sloane, 4; and son Ocean, 2 - with ex-wife Ali Krieger, and their divorce was finalized December 4 after four years of marriage. Sophia and Ashlyn began dating in October 2023, but they spoke on the same feminist panel during the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in June 2023.
