The Grammy winner, 32, shed some light on her child star days while appearing on Thursday's (June 19) episode of Sorry We're Cyrus , the podcast hosted by her mum, Tish, and big sister Brandi. Asked about an amusing 'core memory' from making the teen sitcom co-starring her father, Miley said: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' Tish said she remembered the drama, noting that once everyone realised it was actually Billy Ray toking on the set, people on the show kept calling her to say 'B-Ray was smoking pot.' She said she refused to believe it at the time, and tried blaming Miley's co-star Mitchel Musso instead. 'It was Mitchel Musso! It was both,' Miley replied with a laugh. During the episode, the famous family also addressed when Tish 'mysteriously' – as Miley teased – unfollowed her on Instagram last month, prompting speculation about the state of their relationship. Miley at the time dismissed the rumour mill, saying that though she 'rarely' bothers weighing in on the grapevine, her mum is her 'best friend' and the two 'are too tight for anything to ever come between us.' Much like Tish responded to one of her own followers, Cyrus said the move was a 'simple, coincidental and uninteresting' mistake, despite occurring just hours after Billy Ray broadcast how excited he was to see his daughter. They had their own dust-up in July 2024, when he apparently called Miley and Tish 'skanks' in texts and audio obtained by multiple outlets. About a year prior, Tish and youngest daughter Noah – who reportedly had a relationship with her new stepdad Dominic Purcell, before he wed her mum – put their own reported feud to bed. – New York Daily News

Miley Cyrus gives rare insight into her relationship as she teases cougar title
Singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus teased that she's a "cougar" whilst discussing her relationship with Maxx Morando. She spoke about being older than her partner on a podcast recently and also paid tribute to the fellow musician. Miley, now 32, has been romantically linked to Maxx, now 26, since 2021. The Grammy Award winner previously revealed that she first went on a blind date with the drummer, who's in the music industry himself as a member of the rock band Liily. She spoke about Maxx whilst on the latest episode of the Sorry We're Cyrus podcast, which is hosted by her mother Tish Cyrus, 58, and older sister Brandi Cyrus, 38. Miley teased on the podcast that the three of them are all "cougars". Miley shared that she is five years older than Max, but said they become four years apart for a brief period. It was noted on the podcast that their age gap is bigger than those in Tish and Brandi's respective relationships. Brandi is dating Matt South, 36, at the moment. Whilst parent Tish - who was married to Billy Ray Cyrus, 63, for more than a decade - is now married to Prison Break star Dominic Purcell, 55, after having tied the knot back in 2023. The discussion came after Brandi asked her sibling and mother on the podcast: "What does it say about the three of us that technically we are all cougars?" Miley then responded to the question by teasing: "So many things!" She went on to suggest that the age difference in her relationship is the biggest. Miley questioned on the episode: "Am I the landslide? Is mine the most?" Tish agreed with the suggestion, before her daughter spoke about Maxx. Miley said: "He'll be 27 when I turn 33, which I'm so excited for him to turn 27 because that was, again, such a great year for me." The former Hannah Montana star said that it's the age she was when she began to "turn her life around". She shared: "So I'm just hoping that, y'know, as long as he follows in my footstep, everything is gonna be great. That's right when I started turning my life around." The singer later said: "Sometimes we're only four [years apart] for like three days because we're only a couple of days apart." Miley then revealed to her relatives that Maxx is a Scorpio, before teasing that her partner "can sting". She said about his star sign: "That's what makes him so cool because he can sting. [...] Very cool, like calm ... you think that they're little angels until it turns around and they got a sting." Miley however told her Tish and Brandi that she couldn't be with someone who had a different personality. She said during the discussion: "But I couldn't be with someone that doesn't sting. They would have been toast already."

Miley Cyrus has been spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets from her Disney Channel days. Although, there seems to be a bit of contention as to what the truth really is. As you may have noticed, Miley is everywhere at the moment, promoting her new album and its accompanying film. And while touring all the big podcasts, she stopped by for an appearance on the Sorry We're Cyrus pod, which happens to be hosted by her mom, Tish Cyrus, and her older sister, Brandi Cyrus. During a round of quickfire questions, Tish asked Miley to reveal 'a core memory from the Hannah Montana days that still makes [her] laugh,' to which her daughter replied without hesitation: 'Dad smoking pot and everyone blaming me for it.' For context, Miley and her real-life dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, starred together as a father-daughter duo on the iconic Disney Channel series, which aired from 2006 to 2011. Miley was just 13 years old when she made her Hannah Montana debut. Tish and Brandi burst out laughing at the reply. 'I do remember that,' Brandi said, as Miley called the situation 'hilarious.' Notably, Tish — who divorced Billy Ray in 2022 — even remembered being contacted about the alleged issue at the time, admitting that she was reluctant to believe it. 'They were calling me, saying B. Ray was smoking pot, and I was saying, 'Absolutely not. He would never do that,'' Tish recalled, adding that she instead placed the blame on Mitchel Musso, one of the other young actors on the show who played Oliver Oken. Well, not even a day after the podcast episode dropped, Mitchel himself has entered the chat to dispute Miley and Tish's claims. In a statement to E! News, Mitchel said: 'Well, that's not how I remember it. However, I've got plenty of stories from those years that might be worth having a conversation about. If we're revisiting Hannah Montana history — just say the word.' 'All love to Miley and the fam,' he concluded, 'even when the rewrites get this creative.' I'll let you make of that what you will. For what it's worth, Billy Ray hasn't addressed the claim yet, although we've reached out to his rep for comment.
