$7 Aldi Bulk Buys kitchen item Aussies begging for returns
A popular kitchen item from a German supermarket chain is finally back on shelves after customers begged for its return. Aldi's popular Bulk Household Special Buys range is back from July 16 and it is set to feature the fan favourite Goliath 300m Cling Wrap. The cling wrap retails for $6.99. Customers have been begging for the item's return, with some revealing it had lasted them more than two years. 'Finally finished the 300m cling wrap after two years and three months,' one Aldi fan revealed. 'And then hubby bought the 600m today. Guess we don't need another box for four-and-a-half-years.' Another declared the item 'worth it' after purchasing it for her family of six. 'You can see they lasted us a while and still looks like there is a fair bit on each roll. I'd hate to think how many 30m rolls at Coles or Woolworths I would have bought at that time for $5 I would have bought in that time.' The cling wrap was given a 78 per cent rating by CHOICE after it noted no pulling or tearing with use, and a 'good sealing performance'. Other items in the Bulk Household Special Buys include the $10.99 Baking Paper 90m. the $16.99 Aluminium Foil 150m, $24.99 Laundry Powder 5kg and the $7.99 Super Strength Dishwashing Liquid 3L. In 2022, customers were stunned to discover there was a cling wrap cutter hidden at the end of the roll. 'Whoever the clever person was that mentioned the cling wrap cutter … a thousand thanks,' one woman shared, after being directed to it by another fan. In a second image it showed if customers opened the side of the box, it was hidden inside the roll. Hundreds of social media comments rolled in, with many stunned at the revelation. 'OMG I just found it after using the cling wrap for at least six months,' one person said. 'I just wasted a bit just to see how easily it cut.' The Goliath Cling Wrap 30m, which retails for $1.65, comes with a standard cutter and is part of the every day range. However, the 300m is part of the Special Buys and the cutter is found inside the tube.

How to compare prices to get the best deal JUST because something is on offer, or is part of a sale, it doesn't mean it's always a good deal. There are plenty of comparison websites out there that'll check prices for you - so don't be left paying more than you have to. Most of them work by comparing the prices across hundreds of retailers. Here are some that we recommend: Google Shopping is a tool that lets users search for and compare prices for products across the web. Simply type in keywords, or a product number, to bring up search results. Price Spy logs the history of how much something costs from over 3,000 different retailers, including Argos, Amazon, eBay and the supermarkets. Once you select an individual product you can quickly compare which stores have the best price and which have it in stock. Idealo is another website that lets you compare prices between retailers. All shoppers need to do is search for the item they need and the website will rank them from the cheapest to the most expensive one. CamelCamelCamel only works on goods being sold on Amazon. To use it, type in the URL of the product you want to check the price of.

Aldi launches new British snacks range - but there's one VERY divisive item everyone's talking about: 'They really did Aussies dirty'
A range of British snacks, treats and pantry staples has just launched into Aldi Australia stores - but one divisive item has got everyone talking. The budget supermarket chain has this week revived its popular 'Best of British' themed Special Buys range. Prawn cocktail and Worcestershire sauce crisps, Galaxy Chocolate Blocks, and nostalgic Club Biscuits are among the popular items currently being stocked in the store's middle aisle. But its not just snacks that caught shoppers' attention. One item in particular has raised eyebrows: Steak Kidney Pie in a tin, which costs $9.99. 'They really did the Aussies dirty sending them Fray Bentos pies,' one shopper joked in a TikTok video reply. But shoppers couldn't help but laugh when they spotted the tinned pie placed right next to a can of Batchelors Mushy Peas ($2.49). 'Mushy peas made me laugh', one said. 'Not the Fray Bentos... next to the mushy peas absolutely sent me,' another chimed in. However, some jumped in to defend the divisive British essential, with one proudly declaring the pies are 'so good', while another insisted 'the pastry' was 'chef's kiss'. In previous years, the 'Best of British' range has been a huge hit with UK expats looking to get a fix of the foods that they miss from home. This year's selection has once again stirred up excitement after one Melbourne-based Irish woman shared a video highlighting some of the top picks at her local store. Among the products the Irish expat spots in store are McVite's Club Orange Biscuits, $3.99, Smith's Cheese & Pickles Crinkle Cut Chips, $3.29 and Swizzels Squashies, $3.49. Shopper Rachel Houraghan shared a video, which has been viewed over 1.4million times, with the caption: 'Run don't walk to Aldi for your British and Irish sweet treats'. Eagle-eyed video viewers also saw that Aldi were selling cans of Scottish soft drink Irn-Bru, $2.49 and stew sachets of Guinness Ale & Steak Pie Mix, $2.99. Although quintessential UK supermarket items, many lamented in the video comments that they were not representative of fine British cuisine. For the most part, Aussie-based expats were excited about being able to stock up on some of their sorely missed favourites from home. 'I saw the Club and thought immediately that they're doing it right,' said one person. 'Literally bought one of everything,' confirmed a shopper. 'This got me up off my sofa and in the car to Aldi for the first time ever', added another. An Aldi Australia spokesperson confirmed that the store was excited to welcome back the popular range to the Special Buys aisle – and loved seeing social media videos of customers sharing their favourite finds. 'For those missing home favourites or are British food-curious, it's the time to head over to the middle aisle but be sure to act quickly, as these Special Buys are only here for a limited time,' the Aldi spokesperson told FEMAIL. Any shoppers who want to check ahead of time whether certain British goodies are currently in stock at their local store should visit the Special Buys tracker online ahead of their visit. Interestingly, many British-based people who heard about the sale were surprised that Aussie shoppers were interested in their supermarket staples. 'I never thought anyone would be excited about British snacks,' read one puzzled reply. 'Ýou know, it never occurred to me that we could be an event week,' seconded another. There were also reciprocal requests from UK-based shoppers, insisting that they now needed an 'Aussie week' in their local Aldi stores. 'Can we get an Aussie week in UK Aldi now?' requested a UK shopper. 'I wonder [if] they do an Australian week here, I'd love to get my hands on some Tim Tams,' added another. 'Aussie week in Ireland for the Cherry Ripes, Chicken Salt & Butter Menthols,' read a third request. Aldi's Best of British range returns to stores once again
Aldi has delighted fans this week by reviving one of its most popular ranges — and shoppers are flocking to their local supermarket to get their hands on it. The supermarket giant brought back its Best Of British Special Buys range on June 12, featuring beloved snacks and drinks from the UK. It's no secret why the collection is so popular, with 1.1 million Brits living in Australia as of June 2023. This year's range includes items such as Tunnock's Tea Cakes, with a six pack selling for $5.49. There are also Smith's Crinkle Cut chips in Prawn Cocktail, Worcestershire sauce or Cheese & Pickles flavours for $3.29. Fry's Chocolate Cream or Orange Cream, Swizzels Squashies and Fray Bentos Steak & Kidney Pie also made the cut. Fans are already all over the product drop, with one social media video clocking more than 900,000 views just revealing some of the items available. Emma Lake took to TikTok to share the information with her 'fellow Brits in Aus'. 'It is British week at Aldi. This is one of my favourite weeks of the year, where you can stock up on all of the goodies,' she said. 'So they've got all different crisps, chocolates, all different sauces, gravies. Honestly, they had so much in store. This is the first day.' She did say she noticed some things were missing — such as Toffee Crisps and Mini Cheddars. She also commented that pricing wasn't too bad. Alisha Carter also called it the 'best week of the year' and said she was heading in-store with a strict mission — to find Prawn Cocktail crisps and Galaxy chocolate. 'But, we'll see what else they have,' she said. 'I have no self restraint when it comes to chocolate so going in here I knew I only wanted to get the Galaxy bars but Caramilk Buttons are like my weakness. The same with these little miniatures. 'Chicken and mushroom pot noodles were also on my to get list but I could not justify paying $3.50 when these are a pound in England.' She said the goods were 'secured' but would likely only last two weeks in her household before having to go back for more. Other fans weighed in on the range, with some saying there weren't enough Irish products and others demanded to know why there weren't any Percy Pigs (IYKYK). 'I'm so picking up Swizzels tomorrow!!! Aussie partner has never had any of them before,' one said. Another asked: 'But is the Yorkshire tea the ACTUAL Yorkshire tea?!? Because the stuff in Woolies/coles isn't proper stuff!' 'That's all well and good but let me know when they've got Gregg's steak bakes,' one added. An Aldi spokesperson told the supermarket chain has been stoked with positive the reaction. 'We have welcomed back our popular British Week range to the Special Buys aisle this week, and we're chuffed to see videos of our customers raving about this year's range online. For those missing home favourites or are British food-curious, it's the time to head over to the middle aisle,' the spokesperson said. 'Fan favourites like Prawn Cocktail and Worcestershire sauce crisps, Galaxy Chocolate Blocks and nostalgic Club Biscuits have made a return as well as some new products that are sure to be a hit, like the Swizzels Squashies.'
