Report: Steelers' new throwback uniform and helmet to be unveiled on July 21
Steelers fans rejoice! We now have more information on the upcoming new throwback helmet and uniform set to be unveiled shortly. According to Andrew Lind of the Pittsburgh Steelers will reveal their new throwback yellow helmets and corresponding uniforms on July 21. Lind wrote that the new jerseys mirror the 2007–2011 throwback uniforms more than the team's Color Rush design, as the striping on the sleeves is slightly different. Advertisement Previously, Steelers President Art Rooney II announced the new throwback jerseys would be worn against the Green Bay Packers — later confirmed to be in Week 8 on Sunday Night Football. The Steelers have had a polarizing assortment of throwback uniforms — such as the infamous 'Bumble Bee' jerseys worn with tan pants — but a return to the all-yellow helmets is a welcome one for the 2025 season. Insider Reveals Buccaneers' New Uniform Treat for 2025
Insider Reveals Buccaneers' New Uniform Treat for 2025 originally appeared on Athlon Sports. We already knew the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were breaking out the Creamsicle throwbacks this season against the Atlanta Falcons, but now, the team is taking that look down a whole new road, too. Advertisement Earlier this month, the Bucs teased that they were bringing back the road white uniforms from their inaugural season of 1976, and confirmed it. "According to multiple sources, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are set to unveil a white road version of their creamsicle throwback uniforms on July 15 as part of their 50th season celebration," wrote. "The jerseys, which were inadvertently leaked in February by the designer of the Buccaneers' 50th season logo, feature fluorescent orange numbers outlined in red, matching what the team wore during its inaugural season in 1976. They'll be paired with the same white helmet and pants that Tampa Bay wears with the home version of its creamsicle throwback uniforms, replicating what the Buccaneers wore in every regular season game that season, as the creamsicle jerseys were limited to the preseason. "The jerseys will prominently display a throwback-inspired version of Tampa Bay's 50th season patch on the left shoulder, with the No. 50 and background color matching the jersey, just like their home red, white road and creamsicle throwback designs." The Bucs have already revealed that they'll wear the Creamsicles during the Thursday Night Football matchup against the Atlanta Falcons on Dec. 11, but we'll now apparently get to see the old road unis this season, too. Advertisement Hopefully, the whites don't hold the same bad juju that the old home uniforms do. Commanders will unveil new uniforms next week
New uniforms are on the way for the Washington Commanders. It's been hinted at for months, and now we have an official date for the unveiling. revealed on Wednesday morning that several teams would soon debut new alternative uniforms and helmets in the coming weeks, with Washington leading the way on July 9. The Commanders confirmed the report. The speculation has been that Washington will debut the new uniforms as alternates or throwbacks for 2025 before making them part of the team's regular uniform combinations in 2026. It's uncertain which design the Commanders will choose, but the team has hinted at honoring the past, which would include the traditional uniforms the team wore as the Redskins for many years before the name was changed in 2020. Advertisement While the helmet will not feature the old logo, many have speculated that Washington will incorporate some combination of the spear and/or feathers into the helmet design. However, it's expected that the "W" logo that is currently on the Commanders' helmets will remain. As SportsLogos noted, the New York Jets adopted a similar approach to changing their uniforms. The Jets wore their 'New York Sack Exchange' throwbacks during the 2023 season, before becoming their full-time road uniforms in 2024. Browns Announce Mysterious Uniform Change Plan
The Cleveland Browns boast one of the more traditional and unchanged uniforms in the history of the NFL. Fans have shown excitement and optimism after the team got a haul in the NFL Draft, including a pair of signal callers, one of whom could be the future franchise quarterback. Advertisement While the team frequently disappoints on the field, Browns fans take pride in traditions like the Dawg Pound and the lack of a standard team logo, which is usually represented by just a picture of the blank helmet. That might be changing. While the team has re-adopted Brownie the elf as an on-field logo in recent years, the uniform remains largely unchanged, other than the Color Rush variety that also included a return to the all white helmets that Cleveland wore years ago. Earlier this week, the Browns were named as one of the teams in the league that will debut an alternate helmet in 2025, as Andrew Lind described. Advertisement "The Browns unveiled white alternate helmets in 2023 and have paired them with their 1946 throwback uniforms ever since, but they could be adjusting the stripes to better match their pants," Lind wrote. "They could also reveal a new brown shell to pair with their Color Rush design, though that hasn't been worn since 2022." There are no specifics on what changes will be made or what the alternate helmet will look like for Cleveland. But as the Browns remain the only team in the league with no logo on their lid, it's possible, however unlikely, that the organization finally makes the jump to a standardized logo. It's also possible that the change is so small that it's barely noticeable. Advertisement Then again, who wouldn't like to see Brownie on the side of the Browns helmets?
