Sharjah Sports Summer launches Monday with a variety of activities

Activities for Youth The program is designed for boys and girls aged 7–12 and 13–17, providing a wide range of activities such as entertainment events, educational workshops, Quran memorisation sessions, e-sports, various sports games, and cultural competitions hosted at the clubs. Additionally, there will be awareness and learning-focused workshops. The evaluation committee will visit the clubs to review how each has executed its planned activities, after which three top sports clubs and three top specialized clubs will be selected and announced based on the assessment results. Aiming for Excellence Bakheet Saeed Al Qars, Director of Sports and Community Events and Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Summer Committee, highlighted that the committee is committed to delivering an exceptional edition, in line with the success of previous years. He explained that Sharjah Sports Summer goes beyond being a seasonal event; it is a meaningful platform where participants gain valuable experiences and uncover their talents in different areas. He affirmed that the program presents a perfect opportunity for participants to enjoy their summer break and make the most of it. Weekly Program Themes He added that the program consists of five themed weeks: "I Am Creative," "Here is Sharjah," "I Am the Community," "I Am an Athlete," and "I Am the Future." He also pointed out that precise criteria set by the evaluation committee will be used to select the winning sports and specialized clubs based on their fulfillment of these standards. Committee and Clubs The Sharjah Sports Summer Committee, formed by the council, includes Bakheet Al Qars as chairman, Ahmed Ali Al Salman as program director and chairman of the supervision and follow-up committee, and members Sheikh Khalid bin Faisal Al Qasimi, Tareq Mohammed Al Harmoudi, Hassan Al Toumi (Talent Discovery), Khalid Abdullah Al Junaibi (Chairman of the Evaluation Committee), Khalifa Ismail Al Zarouni, Fowaghi Fareed Al Fardan, Hani Mohammed Al Qasim, Safia Saleh Al Zarouni (Chairwoman of the Media and Marketing Committee), Mohammed Khalifa Al Kaabi, Bashayer Saleh Al Ali, and Mohammed Salah Mounir (member of the supervision and follow-up committee and committee rapporteur). Wide Club Participation This edition includes participation from clubs such as Sharjah, Al Bataeh, Al Hamriyah, Al Dhaid, Mleiha, Al Madam, Khorfakkan, Dibba Al Hisn, Kalba, Sharjah Falcons, Sharjah Men's Chess Club, Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, Al Thiqa Club for the Disabled, Khorfakkan for the Disabled, Classic Cars Club, Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, Wadi Al Helo Ladies Club, and Sharjah Martial Arts Club.

14 Apr 2025 18:18 SHARJAH (WAM) |The winners of the Sharjah Triathlon were crowned on Monday following exciting competitions held on Al Mamzar Corniche, with the participation of 400 male and female athletes, as part of the Sharjah Sports Council's community and sports events awarding ceremony was attended by the Vice President of the UAE Triathlon Federation, Ahmed Al Shamsi ; Director of Sports and Community Events, Dr. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi; and several the Olympic category (1.5km swim, 40km cycling, 10km running), Marwan Al Bannai topped the UAE men's division, while Mariam Al Ali took first place in the UAE women's the open category, Oscar Marquez and Michelle Niguel won the men's and women's races, category (750m swim, 20km cycling, 5km run): UAE Men: 1st Abdullah Hassan Al Ali; UAE Women: 1st Kathloom Al Mazmi; Open Men: 1st Ali Al Zobaie; Open Women: 1st Lindsey the Sprint team category, the team of Omran Shaqir, Monjam Belgoutai, and Shreyas Bekoor came in first Sprint (350m swim, 10km cycling, 1.5km run): UAE Men: 1st Hamed Al Suraidi; Open Men: 1st Dr. Paton; Open Women: 1st Ana Laura.
