Is Pacquiao willing to fight again after a draw vs Barrios?

July 20, 2025; Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Manny Pacquiao smiles before his fight against Mario Barrios at MGM Grand Garden Arena. (Photo: Stephen R. Sylvanie-Imagn Images/REUTERS) Manny Pacquiao turned back the clock on Sunday as the 46-year-old Hall of Famer had a strong showing in his bout against Mario Barrios in their WBC welterweight title match, which resulted in a majority draw. One judge favored Barrios, 115-113, while the two others gave the same scores to both boxers 114-114. As he showed that he can still fight at his age, will Pacquiao return to the ring again? "I think so. God-willing," he said in a post-match interview. "I thought I won the fight."@MannyPacquiao gives his thoughts on his fight with Mario Barrios. — Sports on Prime (@SportsonPrime) July 20, 2025 Pacquiao said the May 2025 elections where he lost his Senate seat also took a toll on his preparations against Barrios. "I know the fans [are] waiting there. I only had two months training. What I need to do is, like, continue my training. In a championship fight like this, I should train [for] four months, three months and a half, so that the fight will be good." "But because of the election in the Philippines, I started late for my training. But it's okay. You know, I love the Filipino people and I love to give honor to my country." Is a Pacquiao-Barrios II also possible? "Yes. Of course," he said. "That's the only legacy that I can leave behind, you know, to give inspiration to the Filipino people and to be proud wherever you are." Pacquiao now holds a record of 62 wins (39 via knockout), eight losses, and three draws. —JKC, GMA Integrated News

William Byron Lost It All as Strategy Call Backfires

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. William Byron was on his way to a glorious NASCAR Cup Series victory at the Michigan International Speedway, but the same strategy that nearly helped him win backfired greatly. He led the race for 98 laps but had to go down pit road with just four laps to go. The Michigan race demanded drivers to be quick, but they also needed to conserve fuel at the same time. It turned out that the race strategy to maintain a dominant lead during the race consumed more gas from Byron's car, which then prevented him from winning. He had to pit to refuel and settle for a 28th place finish. Denny Hamlin passed him and claimed his third victory of the season. Speaking to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Byron admitted that it was hard to save fuel and maintain the lead. He said: William Byron, driver of the #24 Raptor High Heat Chevrolet, enters his car during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on May 31, 2025 in Lebanon, Tennessee. William Byron, driver of the #24 Raptor High Heat Chevrolet, enters his car during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series Cracker Barrel 400 at Nashville Superspeedway on May 31, 2025 in Lebanon, Tennessee."We end up running out there. We needed one and a half laps more fuel, so we probably saved three quarters of a lap, I guess. It was hard to save enough obviously and keep the lead, and also kinda drew him [Hamlin] in. "It seemed like he could just run hard, didn't seem like he had to worry about fuel at all. I was having [to] kinda do both. He got me there for sure, but I was going to run out. It was racing, and then it didn't really matter because we ran out." When asked if he would follow a more conservative approach for the regular season title or if he would just go for the win, Byron said: "Just try to go for the win. I felt like we had one of the dominant cars all day, and unfortunately, when you're so close to a window like that, you are right in front, you burn a lot more fuel. It was time to manage both. It sucks." William Byron was told to keep the lead and save fuel. He wasn't able to save enough. His thoughts after a potential win turned into a 28th-place finish. @NASCARONFOX — Bob Pockrass (@bobpockrass) June 8, 2025 Byron admitted in another interview that there was not much he could do in such a situation. He told Sports on Prime: "We didn't have enough. We were going to run out with a lap and a half left, we did run out with a lap and a half left. I was trying to manage both [and] manage the gap and save [gas]. It sucks, it really stings. Not able to do much about that. It is what it is." Running out of gas was the detriment for @WilliamByron today. #NASCARonPrime — Sports on Prime (@SportsonPrime) June 8, 2025 FireKeepers Casino 400 Cup Series Race Results 1. Denny Hamlin 2. Alex Bowman Speaks Out After Severe Michigan Wreck: 'It Gets Wild'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Alex Bowman has opened up on the massive crash during the NASCAR Cup Series race at the Michigan International Speedway that brought out the red flag. Five drivers were involved in the incident that caused Bowman to lose control of his car and crash head-on into the barriers. The incident occurred after a contact between the No. 2 and No. 41 cars, which then spilled onto the No. 99 and the No. 48. The No. 19 car wasn't spared either. Bowman, Daniel Suarez, Cole Custer, Austin Cindric, and Chase Briscoe were involved in the incident, and fortunately, all escaped unharmed. For Bowman, the incident was severe enough to knock him out of the race. Admitting that it was the hardest hit he ever had in a stock car, he told Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports: Alex Bowman, driver of the #48 Ally Chevrolet, looks on during the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Pit Road Qualifying Entry/Exit Practice (Open) at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 16, 2025 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina.... Alex Bowman, driver of the #48 Ally Chevrolet, looks on during the NASCAR Cup Series All-Star Pit Road Qualifying Entry/Exit Practice (Open) at North Wilkesboro Speedway on May 16, 2025 in North Wilkesboro, North Carolina. More"It happened so fast that I didn't even see them. I didn't know who hit me until I saw the video. It's always turbulent in the 300th. It's crazy back there. It gets wild and that is part of racing. It's wild all through the field. "Unfortunately, the further back you get, the less downforce cars have, the dirtier the air, the situations you're in, and the worst everybody stuff drives. So stuff like this tends to happen." He added: "I feel okay. It was the biggest hit I've ever taken in a stock car by a mile. Head-on into the wall at Michigan, it's gonna be that way. Try to go get them next week." Alex Bowman said it always is turbulent in the pack at Michigan and he is OK after what he said was the hardest hit he has ever had in a stock car. @NASCARONFOX — Bob Pockrass (@bobpockrass) June 8, 2025 Bowman wasn't the only Hendrick Motorsports driver to suffer a setback. William Byron, who led the race for 98 laps, lost the lead to Denny Hamlin after running out of fuel when there were just four laps to go. He finished the race in 28th place after refueling. Speaking to Sports on Prime after the disappointing race finish, Byron said: "We didn't have enough. We were going to run out with a lap and a half left, we did run out with a lap and a half left. I was trying to manage both [and] manage the gap and save [gas]. It sucks, it really stings. Not able to do much about that. It is what it is." Sebastian Fundora stops Chordale Booker in 4th round to retain WBC, WBO super welterweight titles

Sebastian Fundora needed just four rounds to stop Chordale Booker and successfully defend his WBC and WBO super welterweight world titles on Saturday night at the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. The 6-foot-6 Fundora (22-1-1, 14 KOs), who carried an eight-inch height advantage into the contest, towered over Booker (23-2, 11 KOs). The champion established his southpaw jab and long right hook early in the fight and continued to have success with those punches throughout the contest. Despite being the shorter man, Booker chose to stay on the outside against Fundora and utilize lateral movement. Although Booker had his moments, he was consistently out-landed by Fundora round after round, and it didn't take long before Fundora put a real dent in the challenger. In Round 4, Booker's head was pushed back with a left hand as blood poured from his nose. Fundora knew the finish was in sight and pounced on Booker with left hands and uppercuts, forcing him onto the canvas. Sebastian 'The Towering Inferno' Fundora does it again 🥊Getting the KO and making quick work of Chordale Booker in 4 rounds — Sports on Prime (@SportsonPrime) March 23, 2025 Booker rose to his feet with 30 seconds left in the fourth, but he couldn't see out Fundora's onslaught and was saved from further punishment on the ropes by referee Thomas Taylor. Super welterweight is one of the deeper divisions in the sport, and Fundora holds two of its world championship belts. The WBA title is owned by Terence Crawford, who is headed toward a September showdown against Saul "Canelo" Alvarez, while Bakhram Murtazaliev possesses the IBF crown. Fundora called out Murtazaliev for a three-belt unification showdown in his post-fight interview. Fundora, who hails from Mexican descent, also mentioned his WBO mandatory challenger, Puerto Rico's Xander Zayas, as a potential opponent in what would be billed as the next chapter in the historic Mexico vs. Puerto Rico boxing rivalry. "The Towering Inferno" hasn't fought since that win, however, as a much-discussed bout against Errol Spence Jr. failed to materialize this past year.
