Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Ed Sheeran has unveiled an official song of the upcoming F1 movie called 'Drive' on Instagram and shared that working on a project related to Formula One was "a match made in heaven." Set to release on June 25 (June 27 for North America), F1 promises fans to instantly connect with the sport, given the strong emphasis on authenticity while filming. The story is about a veteran driver, Sonny Hayes, played by Brad Pitt, who returns to an underdog F1 team to mentor a young driver, portrayed by Damson Idris. Co-produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and directed by Joseph Kosinski, famous for his work on Top Gun: Maverick, F1 promises high-speed drama while keeping F1 realism in check. MoreWhile critics have weighed in on the F1 movie, very little has been spoken about the official song and the artists who composed it. Now, Ed Sheeran has opened up about his song 'Drive,' sharing how he enjoys making songs for movies and how his past association with F1 just made everything better. He wrote: "I got asked to do a song for the F1 movie. I knew that I wanted to make a proper rock song for it, a proper driving song. something you'd wanna turn up to the fullest amount whilst driving. I wrote it in the studio with Blake Slatkin and John Mayer, then we got Pino Palladino and Dave Grohl to be the final jigsaw pieces of the song. Pure dream team for the genre of rock, and I really feel what we created fits the scene in the movie so well. [sic] "I LOVE making songs for movies, ever since I did I See Fire for The Hobbit. It really lets me as a movie fan, behind the curtain, help create the perfect song for a scene in a movie. Movies and art are the only hobbies outside of music I really have, and I love my time at the F1 whenever I get to go play there. So this was like a match made in heaven. I'm so honoured to work with such great musicians on it, and hope you guys love the end result. drive out now" [sic] Ed Sheeran performed at the 2024 Miami Grand Prix last year and revealed that he was a big F1 fan. However, most of his knowledge about the sport came from Netflix's Drive to Survive docuseries, which he described as the "best crash course" for F1. He said: "I watched all of Drive to Survive and I guess that's like the best crash course that you can do in it is just watch that and most people that I know that love it now are into it through that. "I'm just about to do the hot lap with George Russell which will be fun. I met Verstappen last time who was lovely. I'm meeting Leclerc later and yeah, it's good." Red Bull boss Christian Horner says Max Verstappen's baby girl has incredible genes: 'If it was a racehorse, it'd be worth a fortune'
Max Verstappen and his girlfriend Kelly Piquet welcomed a baby girl on Saturday and named her Lily. Red Bull principal Christian Horner has denied that the birth of Lily could impact Verstappen's performance on the track in any way. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Horner is, however, amazed at how incredible the genes of the baby girl will be, being born into a family where even the maternal and paternal grandfathers (Jos Verstappen and Nelson Piquet) were Formula 1 drivers. Red Bull principal on Max Verstappen becoming a father Christian Horner was among the first to congratulate Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet on the birth of their baby girl. He denied it could impact Verstappen's racing at all. While talking to the media, including Horner said, 'He's a pretty measured guy. He's got a stepdaughter as well. He's just very measured. He enjoys family life and for him it's business as usual.' Horner expressed confidence in Verstappen, saying he would be a very present father for sure. 'You've got to get involved with the nappies, in the middle of the night, all of that. It's the most wonderful thing, welcoming a new addition to any family,' he said. 'But I'm just thinking – the genes of that child are quite incredible. When you think of Verstappen and Piquet – if it was a racehorse, it'd be worth a fortune! But yeah, it's going to make life a little different for [Verstappen],' he added. Lily carries the legacy of Verstappen and Piquet families Formula 1 racing is a common factor in both Max and Kelly's legacy. Max is the son of Jos Verstappen, who competed in F1 from 1994 to 2003. He trained Max in his initial years. Kelly is a model and the daughter of Nelson Piquet, who competed in Formula 1 from 1978 to 1991. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen, who is being referred to as a girl dad now, has said he has spent time with Kelly's elder daughter Penelope as well.
