AISF demands legal action against Allu Arjun, Sreeleela over 'misleading' education ad; just like betting app cases
The All India Students' Federation ( AISF ) from Vijayawada has stirred controversy by demanding action against popular actors and for allegedly endorsing an educational institution in a misleading manner. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The representative of the students' union released a video on social media holding the front page with the advertisement and accused the stars of promoting false claims that only students from the institution they endorsed Sri Chaitanya that the students achieve top ranks and receive quality education. According to the AISF, these endorsements mislead students and their families into paying hefty fees, often resulting in poor experiences, including problems with hostel facilities. Actors accused of misleading the public The representative said, "Actors like Sreeleela and Allu Arjun endorse some educational institutions and mislead students. They are saying no one but students at Sri Chaitanya get good ranks and are being offered a good education. They are taking money to promote such brands, and those who believe them are paying lakhs of rupees and facing numerous problems in the hostels." The AISF representative also mentioned that both actors agreed to promote the institution without verifying the authenticity of the claims, such as whether the students featured in the advertisements actually secured the ranks mentioned. AISF demands legal consequences They added, "We demand that cases be filed against Sreeleela and Allu Arjun for ruining students' lives. The same must be done here, like cases filed on actors endorsing betting apps. We demand that action be taken against them," they said. In March, several well-known actors like Rana Daggubati, , Prakash Raj, and others, along with numerous social media influencers, faced police cases for allegedly promoting betting apps. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now These cases were registered under sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Gaming Act, and the Information Technology Act. The AISF contends that misleading educational endorsements should be treated with the same seriousness due to their harmful impact on students and families. As of now, neither Allu Arjun nor Sreeleela has publicly responded to these allegations.
