Fireworks shows will be happening across the country for the Fourth of July, including at theme parks. Ohio's Kings Island will host Star Spangled Nights to celebrate. "The night's sky will be painted with bright and colorful lights while explosive sounds erupt in combination with patriotic music, creating an unforgettable show for all ages," Kings Island's website says. Here's what to know about Star Spangled Nights presented by M&M'S at Kings Island. Kings Island will have their Star Spangled Nights on Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5. Fireworks are planned to begin at 10 p.m. both nights. It is important to note that all entertainment during Star-Spangled Nights is weather permitting and subject to change and select rides may be scheduled to close early to prepare for the fireworks. Kings Island will have fireworks on both July 4 and July 5. The fireworks start at 10 p.m., according to the website. Kings Island is located in Mason, Ohio, about 130 miles away from Indianapolis or about a two-hour (sometimes longer, depending on traffic) drive.

AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) – Six Flags New England will be honoring veterans and active military members Memorial Day weekend with free admission to the park. The park is hosting Military Appreciation Days to honor heroes from Friday, May 23rd, through Memorial Day on Monday, May 26th. Those who qualify include active and retired military members, veterans, reserves, and National Guard. To redeem a complimentary pass, register with and select the product for a one-day pass or up to six discounted single-day tickets for friends and family members. Six Flags will be open on Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sunday, and Monday from 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The water park is also scheduled to open for the season beginning on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Six Flags New England will be debuting its newest coaster, the Quantum Accelerator, later this summer. It will be the first dual-launch straddle coaster in New England. July 4 ─ 6, Star Spangled Nights is the region's premier 4th of July celebration. Diana's Bakery in Agawam announced closure, hundreds to lose jobs Six Flags is set to open for the season on April 5th. The park also announced the lineup of special events, such as fireworks displays, food festivals, and Halloween fun that is all included with a Six Flags Gold Season Pass. Passes are on sale now.
