Jason Manford shares 'painful' update from hospital bed after cancelling four shows
Comedian Jason Manford shared a concerning update from a hospital bed after it was revealed he had to rearrange for of his upcoming tour gigs Jason Manford has revealed the reason behind his last-minute gig cancellations this week. On Wednesday, the Mancunian comedian, 44, sparked concern after a statement was shared online informing gig goers that his show in St Albans was being rescheduled. Further worry came on Thursday morning after a new announcement revealed he was having to rearrange another three shows. But hours later he took to Twitter /X to share an update on his condition as he posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed. Jason wrote: "Appendix surgery all went well, now in recovery with my Vimto, they serve it in all Manchester hospitals. Bit of a scary & extremely painful 24 hours but thankful to our NHS & my incredible nurse mum who's a godsend in a health crisis!" He followed it up by offering "advice" to his followers. He said: "My advice would be to not get Appendicitis whilst driving at 70mph on the motorway! "Seriously though, I'm gutted that I've had to move the dates this weekend, and I'm sorry for the late notice to so many people in St Albans, Oxford, Lincoln, Skegness & at Kendall Calling. "I thought I could get by on antibiotics and surgery at a later date so I could still do the shows, but was advised not to. Also means I can't fly out to Portugal on Monday to join my family on holiday! Ah well, such is life. Thanks for all the 'Get Well Soon' messages." Followers were once again on hand to send their well wishes to the Starstruck judge. One user commented: "Oh no Jason. There'll be other holidays. Be a good patient and get plenty of rest. Take care x" Another added: "Get better soon Jason, see you in Oxford in November." His team shared an announcement on Wednesday that his shows were to be rearranged, but left fans speculating as to what had happened. The first statement read: "We regret to inform you that tonight's performance of A Manford All Seasons @albanarena has been unexpectedly cancelled due to Jason Manford being unwell and will now be rescheduled to Mon 20th Oct 2025. Thank you for understanding, we apologise for any inconvenience caused." They followed it up with further changes hours later, saying: "We regret to inform you that the following performances of A Manford All Seasons have been unexpectedly cancelled due to Jason Manford being unwell. Oxford, New Theatre Lincoln, The Engine Shed Skegness, Embassy Hall We apologise for any inconvenience caused."
