BoyNextDoor release new EP, to perform at Lollapalooza - members share how they approach music now and more!

Rising K-pop group BoyNextDoor just got open and candid about their take on the entertainment industry and how their career has been so far for the past 2 years. The group just made their comeback by releasing their fourth EP, 'No Genre,' and so far have managed to garner positive reviews online. BoyNextDoor on new music and future projects BoyNextDoor, ahead of their upcoming performance at Lollapalooza, shares how they are approaching music two years into their career and how everything has been so far for the group. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, when asked about how 'No Genre' came to be, the member Taesan revealed that the idea of the album and its name both go hand in hand. He revealed that they did not want to be dictated by specific ideas and genres when approaching this EP, and that 'It's an album that captures BoyNextDoor's carefree spirit. Instead of creating specific characters or adding detailed concepts like we did in previous albums, we kept asking ourselves, 'What makes music simply enjoyable to listen to?' With that question in mind, we dove into the process, trying to learn and grow as we worked on it.' Woonhak then added that the idea itself stems from wanting freedom. He shared that 'We wanted to show the world who BoyNextDoor really is. It's a reflection of that ambition, and I think that's what led us to release an album like this.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với mức chênh lệch giá thấp nhất IC Markets Đăng ký Undo The idol also added that with the new album, all group members have been hoping that the public is able to identify a new side of the group, different and unique from what they have managed to present for the past two years. The members even delved into their favourite songs from the album. Jaehyun and Riwoo shared how 'Step By Step' is their favourite pick from the new EP, while Leehan stuck to sharing the lead single for this comeback, 'I Feel Good' is the best for him. More on how 'I Feel Good' came to be The members also delved into how the title track came to be. Jaehyun commented on the creation of the song and how it represents them, sharing that 'It feels like we're showing just one side of who we are. We've definitely grown, but rather than saying, 'This is mature BoyNextDoor,' it feels more like we're revealing another one of the many charms we've always had.' He also continued how the group is always trying to grow and become better versions of themselves. About taking over the stage at Lollapalooza Lollapalooza is one of the biggest and most celebrated music festivals in the world. In the past few years, K-pop has managed to break into the global realm, with many artists like Blackpink and J-Hope taking over the stage at the prestigious event. Soon BoyNextDoor will be joining the list as well. While talking about the performance, Taesan revealed how when they were told by their agency that they would be performing at the Lollapalooza, none of the members were able to believe it, and thought that a joke was being played on them. He shared that 'It's like a dream come true', which is also making the group members work harder than ever to make the performance their most memorable one. 'We've all been studying English to show off our skills on stage, and we're also practising hard to make this performance something really special,' he added. Riwoo then added that playing in front of an audience that might not be aware of who they are makes the huge opportunity even better. He added that the group is taking this as a chance to spread their music and reach new audiences.

Dublin mum still lives with devastating results of stroke after giving birth

A mother has relived the shock of a life-changing stroke just days after she brought her newborn son home from hospital. Lisa Kenny, 42, was separated from her family for seven months after the crippling health emergency derailed the joy of welcoming baby Alfie in October 2019. She now lives with aphasia, an acquired language disorder that often occurs following brain injury, such as stroke. Pic: Emma Kenny/PA Wire She spoke about her experience as part of Aphasia Awareness Month. Aphasia affects the understanding of spoken or written language, including reading and writing or the production of spoken language. Ms Kenny, from Balbriggan, north Co. Dublin, said: 'With my stroke and aphasia, it was hard to suddenly be separated from my children because I couldn't talk and I was on a lot of medication. When I was in hospital, it was so hard because I couldn't see my children: Emily, now 13, and Alfie.' Her first symptom of stroke, four days after returning home with Alfie, was a headache, and she later lost feeling in her right arm and leg before her face began to droop. Ms Kenny's fiancé, Paul, phoned for an ambulance, and a brain scan revealed she had experienced a haemorrhagic stroke, where there is a bleed in the brain as opposed to a blockage in a blood vessel. She underwent brain surgery and had another operation two months later to replace her skull bone. Due to complications including pneumonia and seizure, it would be seven months before Lisa could return home from the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dún Laoghaire, where she worked with occupational, physical, speech and language therapists. 'Now, I'm okay with speaking and talking, it's 50/50. I have got back to normal texting, which is huge for my communication,' she said. Pic: Emma Kenny/PA Wire However, she could not return to work as a result of her aphasia, a disorder that affects how you communicate through speech, as well as the way you write. Lisa uses Irish Heart Foundation (IHF) supports to aid her recovery, including the Young Stroke Survivors Network, the Life After Stroke private Facebook group, the Aphasia-Friendly Café and the Rhythm of Recovery Choir. 'I continue to push and challenge myself and just try to stay positive. I keep going, keep strong and healthy, for Emily and Alfie. I choose to laugh, love and be happy because life keeps going on and I will always have them with me. My speech, language, and physiotherapy are the key, too,' she said. She is working with the national charity to improve her comprehension, reading and maths. Helen Gaynor, head of community support services with the charity, said the IHF 'offers a variety of support services for people living with the life-changing effects of a stroke, including the challenges of aphasia'. She added: 'Our Stroke Connect Service and peer support groups are available to anyone who has experienced a stroke, and those living with aphasia. Our Step By Step Through Stroke booklet, a helpful guide for stroke survivors, families and carers, helps people prepare for potential changes due to stroke, such as communication difficulties.' Suzanne Somers' husband missed dating after her death

Suzanne Somers' husband 'missed dating' after her death. The 'Step By Step' actress was married to Alan Hamel for 46 years before she passed away in October 2023 at the age of 76 and Alan has recently revealed his new relationship with Somers' former co-star Joanna Cassidy. He told PEOPLE: 'Suzanne and I went on dates a lot, at least once a week, sometimes twice a week. We enjoyed getting dressed up, going to some fancy restaurant, ordering a great bottle of wine, and great candlelight, and sit there and having a good time and look into each other's eyes.' He also revealed that Suzanne urged him to be happy after her death. He said: 'When it was clear that Suzanne was not going to recover in the final days of her life on this planet, before she crossed over, she said to me, 'I don't want you to mope around after I'm gone'. I actually never heard the expression 'mope around' before. I said, 'So you mean I shouldn't sit at home and feel sorry for myself?' She said, 'I want you to live your life. You have a great life. You have a great family. You have great friends. I want you to live your life.' 'The last 42 years of our relationship, we did not spend even one hour apart, and it wasn't planned. We didn't plan it. It just evolved that way. It's pretty strange, relative to most marriages, but it worked for us.' Alan, 89, recently opened up about his new relationship with Joanna, saying: 'I don't know where the relationship is going. I just know that at this very moment, it's wonderful, and the reality is that as the foundational material for a relationship. It should go on for a long time being wonderful.'

(Photo by) New Kids on the Block is one of the rare boy bands from decades past that is not only still together, but which continues to release new music. The group reunited in mid-2024 to drop Still Kids, its eighth proper full-length and first in more than a decade. Now, a year later, the Grammy-nominated vocal troupe is back on the United Kingdom's music charts — not with anything brand new, but rather with a decades-old project that has become a surprising bestseller. New Kids on the Block's Step By Step Debuts Step by Step appears on one tally in the U.K. this frame. The poppy project enters the Official Album Download chart at No. 84, officially becoming a bestseller on this list for the first time. Step by Step Turns 35 On June 13, New Kids on the Block re-released Step by Step to honor its thirty-fifth birthday. The project originally dropped in June 1990, at which point the boy band had already become globally successful, but the project took the group to a new level. The full-length was largely supported by its title track, which became a smash all around the world. In the U.K., it rose to the runner-up spot on the Official Singles chart and was followed by "Tonight" and "Let's Try It Again," both of which also broke into the top 10. New Kids on the Block's Las Vegas Residency New Kids on the Block has another reason for sharing Step by Step, in addition to its birthday. The band began its Las Vegas concert residency on June 20, and shows are scheduled throughout the rest of 2025 and even into early 2026. The attention generate by an anniversary re-release and its appearance(s) on the charts may help remind fans to pick up tickets. New Kids on the Block's Recent Winning Streak While New Kids on the Block doesn't release music quite as frequently as it did in its early years, it hasn't been long since the group last debuted on the Official Album Download chart. The troupe has managed to score a new win on this specific tally in each of the past three years. In 2023, The Block Revisited peaked at No. 50. In May 2024, Still Kids — the latest proper studio album from the band — opened at No. 15.

New Kids on the Block perform on 'GMA' 3 decades after 1st performance

Iconic boy band New Kids on the Block returned to " Good Morning America" Thursday for a final summer concert in Times Square, more than 30 years after they first performed on "GMA." "It's an honor every single time," Donnie Wahlberg said of performing on "GMA," which will debut its new studio in downtown New York City on June 16. "We love it." Wahlberg was joined by bandmates Jordan Knight, Jonathan Knight, Joey McIntyre and Danny Wood as they performed hits including "Step by Step" and "You Got It (The Right Stuff)." The band flew to New York City from Las Vegas, where they will kick off their first-ever Las Vegas residency on June 20 at Dolby Live at Park MGM. McIntyre described the residency -- which will run through Nov. 15, 2025 -- as the "show of a lifetime." "It's all the bells and whistles of Las Vegas. We're pulling out all the stops," he said. "It's really the show of a lifetime. We're getting to do all the dreams we had since we were teenagers. It's going to be great." In addition to their residency, New Kids on the Block is also celebrating the 35th anniversary of their hit album "Step By Step." The band will release a special anniversary edition of the album on Friday, June 13. "We're so blessed. We have so much fun together," McIntyre said of the band's decadeslong career. "We're family, and we've been through so much." While surrounded by fans at "GMA," Wahlberg attributed the success of New Kids on the Block to the generation-spanning fans who have attended their concerts and purchased their music for multiple decades. "Kind of everything we do is all about them," he said of New Kids on the Block fans. "Of course we love making music. We're artists. We care about what we do. But honestly, where are we without them?" Wahlberg continued, "If you look back at some of those old appearances on 'GMA,' it's like, 'These guys are never going to make it.' And somehow, all these fans, they're just the greatest inspiration. How could you not be inspired by them? They've given us everything we have." Watch New Kids on the Block perform on 'GMA'
