This event provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about the environment and the negative impact litter can have on animals and the safety issues associated with fly-tipping.
It was inspired by children's observations of litter outside the school gates, which led them to create a sign reading: "Do not dump litter in our green space."
Maria, a neighbourhood improvement and enforcement officer from North/West, attended the event and praised the children's enthusiasm and motivation.
Parents also supported the initiative, with one parent saying: "Watching the kids help collect litter and get excited about cleaning up the area was really inspiring."
A spokesperson for Keppoch Nursery School said: "We hope all our efforts across the year help us to gain our Eco flag."
