Lotto Powerball winners yet to claim their $15m prizes

Two Lotto Powerball winners who won $15 million each on the weekend have yet to come forward to claim their prizes. The winning tickets were sold at Plaza SuperValue in Invercargill and on the MyLotto website to a Wellington player. Lotto NZ confirmed to 1News on Monday it was still waiting for the lucky winners to come forward. "We like to give winners time to find out about their win themselves, and most Powerball winners claim within a few days – but sometimes there can be a delay if they're away, busy or have even temporarily forgotten they bought it in the first place." Lotto stores and the Lotto app saw a surge in interest as the draw approached on Saturday. ADVERTISEMENT Lotto NZ corporate communications manager Sarah McCormack said before Saturday's draw people who don't usually play at lower jackpots grab a ticket as the jackpot climbs to higher levels. "We're expecting around 1.25 million tickets to be sold for this Saturday's $30 million draw." The pair were the tenth and eleventh Powerball multimillionaires this year. Ten other Lotto players won $83,333 each with Lotto First Division. These tickets were sold at Woolworths Queensgate in Lower Hutt, Stellin Street Store in Lower Hutt, Greymouth Lotto & Souvenirs in Greymouth, New World Halswell in Christchurch and on MyLotto to players from Tauranga, Hawkes Bay, Wellington and Ashburton. Two Strike players also took home $200,000 each with Strike Four, with the tickets sold at Woolworths Metro in Auckland and on MyLotto to a player from Wellington.
