Man critically injured in shooting on CTA Red Line train
A man was critically injured in a shooting on a CTA Red Line Train near Chicago's South Loop early Wednesday morning. Just before 4:30 a.m., CTA officials said a 29-year-old man got into a fight with another man in the 1100 block of South State Street. The other man fired shots, hitting the 29-year-old in the thigh and buttocks. He was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. The shooter got off the train and ran southbound on State Street. No arrests have been made. The shooting is under investigation by Area Three detectives. According to the CTA, Red Line trains are running with significant delays due to a police investigation at Roosevelt. Trains are moving, and regular service is being restored.

14-year-old boy, second person shot in Chicago's Douglass Park
Two people, one of them a 14-year-old boy were shot and wounded in Douglass Park on Chicago's West Side Thursday evening. At 7:03 p.m., the victims were in the 1400 block of South Sacramento Drive in the North Lawndale neighborhood park, near Douglas Boulevard, when a male shooter came up and shot them both. The 14-year-old boy was shot in the neck. The second victim, a male of an unknown age, was shot in the back. Both were taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in serious condition. Harrison Area detectives are investigating.

Boy, 11, shot in North Lawndale park, police say
An 11-year-old boy was shot and injured at a North Lawndale park Saturday afternoon, according to Chicago police. Police said an unknown gunman shot the boy in his lower back just before 5:30 p.m. at Franklin Park in the 1400 block of South Tripp Avenue, police said. He was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Police said no suspects were in custody, and that detectives' investigation was underway.

6 CTA bus passengers hurt in crash with private ambulance in Chicago's South Loop
Six people were hurt Tuesday morning in a crash involving a Chicago Transit Authority bus and an ambulance in the South Loop. Police said at 10:13 a.m., the No. 3 King Drive bus was traveling south on Michigan Avenue just north of Roosevelt Road, when it was rear-ended by a private ambulance also headed south. Two men on the bus, ages 23 and 25, and one woman on the bus, 23, were all taken to Rush University Medical Center. Two other men on the bus, ages 73 and 32, were taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, and two others of unconfirmed age were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. The driver of the private ambulance was issued two traffic tickets, police said.

3 men shot in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood steps from Puerto Rican Fest grounds
Chicago police on Sunday were investigating a drive-by triple shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood, not far from the grounds of the Puerto Rican Festival. The CPD said three men were standing outside in a group near California Avenue and Thomas Street around 10 p.m. Saturday, when a vehicle pulled up and someone inside shot them all. A 27-year-old man was hit in the left and right legs and was in fair condition at Stroger Hospital of Cook County. A 42-year-old man was hit in the left calf, and a 45-year-old man was hit in the right leg. Both were in fair condition at Humboldt Park Health. All the victims were expected to survive. No one was in custody late Sunday.
