Mistake in court sees sentence cut for woman who planned child sex attack
A woman involved in planning the "brutal" sexual assault of three children has seen her sentence reduced following a mathematical "miscalculation" in court. On Monday Tracy Turner, 52, was sentenced to 12 years in prison with a further two years on licence, but that has been reduced to 10 years in prison and two on licence. Stuart Compton, 46, was given a life sentence but has seen the amount of time he must spend in prison before applying for parole increase from seven years to eight years and 11 months. Judge Tracy Lloyd-Clarke, the recorder of Cardiff, apologised "to all concerned" during Wednesday's hearing. The judge said she would use the "slip rule" to adjust the sentences because the defendants had not been brought to court on time during the sentencing hearing, leading to mathematical errors. Couple planning 'brutal' sex attacks on children jailed Hospital worker guilty of child sex offences Turner, who was present via a video link from prison, wept at the news and said "thank you". At the earlier sentencing hearing, Judge Lloyd-Clarke told Compton it was clear he was "the driving force in the messages" and he "did not accept" the seriousness of his offending. "Unless and until the parole board considers it safe to release you, you will remain in prison," she said, addressing Compton. The court heard it took officers several weeks to go through the messages, which related to two girls and a boy under the age of 13 at the time the messages began. Two of the children were aged eight and one was 12 when Compton and Turner began discussing them. Prosecutor Matthew Cobbe told the court there was an "extraordinary amount" of messages related to "discussing sexual depravity involving children". Mr Cobbe said while no contact was made with the children, the messages sent over many months showed a "clear attempt to arrange and commit sexual activities" with the children. "Fantasy plainly turned into obsession," Mr Cobbe said, as Compton described in messages "graphic accounts of what he wanted to do" with individual children. The court heard that messages showed Compton was interested in children "aged one to six".

NHS worker and her paedo lover plotted ‘brutal' sex attacks on children & wanted to target lone kids on camping trips
A DEPRAVED NHS worker and her paedo lover plotted "brutal" sex attacks on children to divulge their sick fantasies. Tracy Turner, 51, and Stuart Compton, 46, who referred to each other as Bonnie and Clyde, set their sights on two girls and a boy. 4 They planned to lure unattended children on camping trips and shared thousands of twisted texts outlining the potential abuse. The vile pair also plotted to strike at music festivals, with Compton praising Turner's sick idea as "genius, babe". Turner even offered to babysit one planned victim so the couple carry out their sex attacks. They have now been jailed after pleading guilty to six counts of arranging sex with a child. Compton also pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images, while Turner admitted two counts of the same offence. Merthyr Crown Court heard the couple's conversations demonstrated a "clear intent to arrange and commit sexual acts" with young children - although no child was ever abused. Prosecutor Matthew Cobbe said: "The first threads of messages suggested fantasy, they expressly talked about fantasy, but this developed into an obsession. "Their obsession drove them to discuss over and over the sexual acts that they intended to perform and the ways that they believed that they could achieve that goal." In total, the couple exchanged more than 100,000 WhatsApp messages discussing their depraved plans. They spoke about raping an eight-year-old girl in an abandoned shed before "disposing" of her afterwards. The pair also plotted to rape two other children - a boy Turner attempted to groom and a girl aged under 13. Sick messages also revealed how Compton suggested going to a "hippy" music festival where drug-use would mean young girls could be left unattended. The pair's twisted plans were only exposed when a "well-known online dating app" contacted police with concerns over Compton. When police raided his home, they found a haul of illegal weapons including a baton, knuckle duster and blade as well as child sex abuse images on his phone. Officers analysed messages on his phone and found a "massive amount" of exchanges between him and Turner. In a victim impact statement, the mum of one of the victims said: "The thought of what could have happened to our daughter by two people who have monstrous sexual intent is unforgivable." While the dad of another girl described the pair's crimes as "incomprehensible". Compton was handed a life sentence and must serve at least six years and 131 days behind bars. Turner was jailed for 12 years with a two year extended licence. The couple were also charged with plotting to kidnap and murder of a girl under 13 but this was left to lie on the file. Turner worked in the busy operating theatre at the 800-bed University Hospital in Cardiff until she was suspended after police were contacted. A spokeswoman for Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: "The health board suspended the individual once we were made aware of the allegations against them. "This is a sensitive issue and the health board has been cooperating with partners in South Wales Police. "We are not able to comment further while court proceedings are ongoing." 4 4

‘Bonnie and Clyde' couple who planned brutal rape of young children jailed
A couple who dubbed themselves Bonnie and Clyde have been jailed for planning and fantasising about the 'brutal' rape and sexual assault of young children under the age of 12. Stuart Compton, 46, and his partner, Tracy Turner, 52, sent each other thousands of messages planning the depraved abuse of two girls and a boy over a two-year period. Advertisement Merthyr Crown Court heard their sick plan failed after an online dating app informed police of concerns about Compton, and the pair were arrested. Sentencing the couple on Monday, Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke, the Recorder of Cardiff, handed Compton a life sentence, while Turner was given 12 years in jail, with a further two years on extended licence. Compton must serve a minimum term of seven years in prison before he can apply to the parole board for release. Addressing Compton, she said: 'Unless and until the parole board considers it safe to release you, you will remain in prison.' Advertisement At an earlier hearing, the couple, who referred to each other as Bonnie and Clyde in messages, both pleaded guilty to six counts of arranging sex attacks on children. Compton also pleaded guilty to six counts of making indecent images, and Turner, who is a hospital operating assistant, admitted two counts of the same offence. Bonnie and Clyde were outlaws who gained notoriety in the 1930s for a series of bank robberies in America. The judge said messages showed they had discussed 'over and over again' their desires to rape children and their conversations 'made clear that this was not fantasy'. Advertisement The couple had planned to carry out the acts, with Ms Lloyd-Clarke saying they had 'carefully identified' a location for one of the rapes to take place. 'You were both sexually aroused by the idea of raping a child,' she said. She added: 'You both deny your sexual interest in children, you both minimise your offending.' The trial took place at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court (Ben Birchall/PA) The couple must also inform the police of any names or addresses they use and are barred from working with children and vulnerable groups. Advertisement Compton, from Cathays, and Turner, from Roath, both Cardiff, had denied a string of other offences, including conspiracy to murder, conspiracy to rape and conspiracy to kidnap, which were ordered to lie on the file. Matthew Cobbe, prosecuting, told the court their conversations demonstrated a 'clear intent to arrange and commit sexual acts' with young children, although no child was ever abused. 'The first threads of messages suggested fantasy, they expressly talked about fantasy, but this developed into an obsession,' Mr Cobbe said. 'Their obsession drove them to discuss over and over the sexual acts that they intended to perform and the ways that they believed that they could achieve that goal.' Advertisement The prosecutor said they had been arranging the 'brutal rape' of one of the children and had planned to drug the child to aid the abuse. 'They recognised the abuse for what it was, they recognised that it was rape,' he said. 'It was not a realisation that it would amount to rape, instead they were clearly stimulated by the fact that it was rape. 'Compton would press her whether she wanted to be present, she would confirm that she did and go on to confirm that she wanted to be involved. 'Compton claimed that he would accept all responsibility for the acts. 'The exchanges lasted months, they began as a fantasy but they became an obsession and an intended goal.' The court heard that messages recovered by the police took weeks to go through because there was so many, and showed Compton was interested in children 'aged one to six'. Examination of Compton's device showed that he discussed his fantasies with others, and would develop his own character in these conversations, 'creating depraved sexual stories involving children'. Referring to Turner, Mr Cobbe said: 'They exchange messages where they discuss the possibility of going to a festival or camping, so that they can be 'around' families with young children. 'Turner suggests a family festival, not too expensive. 'Compton thinks that is a 'great idea', commenting he'd like to go to a 'hippy one, where lots of drugs consumed leaving unattended girls, great f****** idea that's genius babe'.' Some of the messages the couple sent each other were read out in court, with each of them describing what they wanted to do to the young children and each other. In one message, Compton asked if she was serious about getting involved, and Turner responded: 'I'm not f****** about, babe.' The mother of one of the young girls described in a victim impact statement how they had stopped trusting people after learning of Compton and Turner's crimes. 'The decisions we make as parents are now different and lead to paranoia,' she said. 'Some days it is very real and other days it is like a dream. We do not want this to define our family. We cannot undo this.' The father of another girl described the defendants' crimes as 'incomprehensible'. 'I hope what they have done to me and my family stays with them for the rest of their lives,' he said. His partner added: 'Finding out about their crimes turned our world upside down. 'I have always had an open and honest relationship with my daughter. 'I am furious that I have had to lie to my child to protect her from these offences.' Kevin Seal, representing Compton, insisted his client had expressed remorse for his actions in a pre-sentence report. Mr Seal said: 'It was clear to the author of the report that these were genuine comments from the defendant himself – 'I have let everybody down'. 'He wished to apologise to anyone who has been let down by his actions.' A doctor diagnosed Compton with a compulsive sexualised behaviour disorder, which involves intense preoccupation with sexual fantasies and behaviours. 'It is not to be confused with sex addiction,' he said. He said the disorder did not provide 'any form of defence' but wished the judge to understand what Compton suffered from. He said the Compton had used a mixture of proscribed medication for his back and illegal drugs, including cocaine and cannabis, as well as alcohol. Mr Seal said the defendant had recognised he had a problem and reached out for support for the drugs and there had been a 'marked de-escalation' of messages regarding children. Nicola Powell, representing Turner, told the court she had ended the relationship with Compton as soon as she was arrested and had no contact with him since. 'She was a lady who, until these allegations were made and pleas entered, was without previous convictions,' she said. 'She had worked as a senior theatre assistant in the NHS for over 30 years without a blemish on her character.' Miss Powell said Turner had a long-standing issue with depression and anxiety, which led her in later years to abuse alcohol and cocaine. 'She accepts that she had an extremely unhealthy relationship with him, she abused alcohol and he introduced her to cocaine,' she said. 'This was not the support she needed and quite simply, it led her to spiral downwards and out of emotional control. 'By the time of her arrest, she was taking cocaine every day. She thought she loved Mr Compton and he loved her.' Miss Powell said that Turner told the author of a pre-sentence report: 'I am very sorry and ashamed. I'll never forgive myself for the rest of my life.' The barrister added: 'I would ask you to accept that her remorse in this case is genuine.' A spokeswoman for the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said it would be inappropriate for them to comment on the case but confirmed that Turner was dismissed from her position in March 2025. She insisted that the safety and wellbeing of patients is the Board's highest priority. She added: 'We would like to take this opportunity to reassure patients that the criminal case is entirely unconnected with the individual's employment within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.'

Depraved female hospital worker and partner who likened themselves to 'Bonnie and Clyde' given lengthy jail terms for 'monstrous' child sex plot
A depraved woman hospital worker and her partner have been jailed for plotting 'monstrous' sex attacks on three young children, including drugging and raping them. Tracy Turner, 52, an operating theatre assistant at the biggest NHS hospital in Wales was caught planning the attacks alongside her partner Stuart Compton, 46. The pair swapped over 100,000 'excruciating' WhatsApp messages where they fantasised about kidnapping children to carry out vile abuse. They even planned to go to a 'hippy' music festival where lots of drugs were consumed and children would be left unattended. In one of the text messages between the pair they described themselves as Bonnie and Clyde, the American gangsters responsible for kidnappings and murders in the early 1930s. Pony-tailed Turner sobbed out loud and Compton sat with his head in his hands as the sordid details of their brutal paedophile fantasies centred on two girls and a boy were read to their court. Prosecutor Matthew Cobbe described how the pair plotted to kidnap a girl of primary school age who was known to them and take her to a dilapidated railway shed. He said: 'Their fantasy turned into an obsession which drove them to discuss over and over the sex acts they intended to perform. 'They spoke about a venue where their brutal acts would take place, woods and a cemetery were mentioned before settling on a nearby railway shed. 'They even created an awful euphemism talking about 'shedding'her and going to 'shed' her. 'The shed was real and has been located by officers, it is close to where they both lived.' The pair planned how they would subdue the girl to stop her screaming, 'clean' her after the sex attack and that Compton would take the blame if they were ever caught. Mr Cobbe said: 'They were clearly stimulated by the prospect of rape. This began as a fantasy but became an obsession and an intended goal.' While the pair dreamed up their brutal paedophile fantasies between 2022 and 2024, Turner continued working in operating theatres at the 800-bed University Hospital of Wales, in Cardiff. Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard the pair came up with detailed scenarios with young children on holidays, in a swimming pool and at a hotel. The prosecution said they were 'fixated' by sexually abusing young children in the 100,000 messages recovered from their WhatsApp accounts. The pair wanted to take one of their intended victims to a hotel, drug her with diazepam and take naked photographs of her while she was asleep. Compton told Turner that was his 'favourite fantasy of all'. The pair's evil plans were uncovered after Compton was arrested for arranging a sex offence on a dating app he used. His girlfriend tried to cover for him by giving his mobile phone to a pub landlady. Compton and Turner, who have children of their own, pleaded guilty to six charges of arranging a child sex offence on three different children under the age of 12. The charges relate to rape and sexual assault on both girls and penetrative sexual activity and sexual activity with the boy, the eldest of the three victims. They pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to murder kidnap and rape a child under 13, and other sexual offences. The offences will lie on the file. Victim Personal Statements from the parents of the three children were given to the court which caused Turner to sob even louder in the dock. One of the mothers said: 'The thought of what could have happened by these people with monstrous sexual intent is unforgivable. 'It's like living in a soap opera or drama. How has this happened to our child? The guilt is overwhelming. How do we trust anyone around our children again?' Some of the depraved 100,000 Whatsapp messages between the pair were read to the shocked court. They included references to choking one of the young girls and details of how the couple would turn their twisted fantasies into reality. One message described how Compton wanted to rape a girl, of primary school age, in woods. He told Turner: 'There will be blood and tears, so be prepared.' In relation to their plans to abuse the young boy, Compton told his girlfriend: 'I'll be making this happen baby, for real.' A message from Compton on Christmas morning asked Turner of she would film him raping a young girl while she smothered the victim's screams. Turner replied: 'Your wish is my command, my king.' The two defendants sat in the dock separated by a prison officer and didn't speak to each other during the sentencing hearing which was attended by the victims' families. None of the three children were physically harmed by the pair but the court heard their crimes have had a life changing effect on their families. The parents of one of the girls have decided not to tell her that she was an intended victim because of her age. Turner denied a charge of perverting the course of justice by trying to dispose of Compton's mobile phone which will also lie on the file. The pair, from Cardiff, have no previous convictions. Turner was a senior theatre assistant at the University Hospital of Wales for 33 years and had an "unblemished career". She was suspended by the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board at the time of her arrest. Nicola Powell, defending, said: 'What possessed a lady with an unblemished career to be before the court today. She had a number of issues, financial worries and low mood. She had been diagnosed with depression after her parents separated in 1998.' Ms Powell said Compton had introduced her to cocaine and she took the drug every day, along with alcohol. She said: 'She hid her alcohol addiction from friends and family and in her work environment where she was in control of her day-to-day activities.' The court heard Turner was remorseful and would never forgive herself for the rest of her life. In a pre-sentence report she said: 'I loved Stuart, I just said what he wanted to hear. He would keep on and on about his fantasies until I reciprocated. 'I should have reported it to the police, I'm sorry every minute of the day. 'I would never have allowed any of the children to be harmed. it was just a story he was fabricating. I'm tarred with this for the rest of my life.' 'I'm very sorry and ashamed, I'll never forgive myself for the rest of my life.' The court heard Turner had ended her relationship with Compton and had spurned his attempts to contact her while they have both been on remand. 'She has ended contact for good.' said Ms Powell. Judge Tracey Lloyd-Clarke jailed Compton for life with a minimum term of seven years before he can apply for parole, saying he was the 'driving force' behind the offences and had discussed his fantasies with others on the internet. The judge said Compton had described graphic accounts of what he wanted to do to the children and both defendants were sexually aroused by the ideas they discussed on WhatsApp. Turner, wearing a grey and black tracksuit top was jailed for 12 years plus two years on extended licence. The judge told the pair: 'The discussions on WhatsApp were not pure fantasy, you both intended to carry out what you had talked about together. 'Your actions devastated the parents of the children. Their feelings are understandable, they have no reasons to blame themselves.' Both defendants were made the subject of Sexual Harm Prevention Orders. Detective inspector David Butt, of South Wales Police, said outside court: 'A small team of detectives reviewed in the region 100,000 text messages sent between Tracy Turner and Stuart Compton. 'The volume and nature of the content was disturbing, the worst of the worst. 'Offenders like Turner and Compton believe they can hide behind phone screens. But this is clearly not the case. 'The successful conviction of these two dangerous, high-risk sexual predators will ensure that children are protected.' A spokesperson from Cardiff and Vale University Health Board said: 'We can confirm that Tracy Turner was dismissed from the Health Board on the 12 March 2025. 'The safety and wellbeing of our patients is our highest priority. 'We would like to take this opportunity to reassure patients that the criminal case is entirely unconnected with the individual's employment within Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.'
