‘ONOE India's need, Oppn rejects nat'l unity concept'

The BJP on Thursday credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who returned on Thursday after concluding his five-nation tour, for ushering in a 'new era' for India's diplomacy at the global stage. BJP national spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi said the PM's visit to Ghana, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil — where he participated in the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro — and Namibia succeeded in establishing India's role at the international level strategically, economically and culturally. He said the country forged an unequivocal consensus against terrorism at BRICS, signed agreements for critical and rare earth materials and deepened ties with its diaspora during the PM's visit. 'Bharat achieved several milestones during this tour… At the BRICS Summit, India's stand against terrorism was endorsed by all; PM Modi made it clear that those victimised by terror and those who sponsor it cannot be equated,' Trivedi said. 'Secondly, Bharat has become the world's fourth largest economy and will soon become the third largest… Our economic interests depend on resources such as uranium, lithium, gold and other critical materials such as diamonds. India's agreement with Ghana and Namibia where these resources abound not only makes Bharat atmanirbhar (self-sufficient) but also reduces reliance on just one country for these,' he said.

Key changes in the act include redefining the formation of waqf, improving the survey and registration process, empowering government oversight, and ensuring inclusivity by incorporating non-Muslim members and women into waqf-related bodies. The BJP leader termed RJD and Congress as 'Namazwadi' parties and stated that the people of Bihar have two options at present. 'These socialists don't even care about minorities.
