Caught on CCTV: Thief drills hole in showroom wall, steals phones worth Rs 5 lakh
In a late-night heist, a thief broke into a mobile showroom in Telangana's Dilsukhnagar on Sunday and escaped with mobile phones worth Rs 5 said the thief gained entry by drilling a hole in the wall near the staircase of the Big C showroom. Armed with just a hammer and an iron rod, he chipped away at the wall reduce the noise, the intruder reportedly used a cloth pad, locally called a bonta, to muffle the sound. Once inside, the burglar quickly grabbed mobile phones from both the display and storage sections before fleeing the spot. The entire incident was caught on CCTV cameras, which are now being scanned by investigators.A case has been registered, and police have launched a probe to trace the incident comes even as Hyderabad police intensify their crackdown on mobile theft. In a major recovery effort, the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate has traced and recovered 1,130 stolen or lost mobile phones over the past two months, valued at around Rs 3.5 Commissioner of Police, Sudheer Babu, said that a total of 3,694 mobile phones have been recovered from the commissionerate limits so far this year. In a significant crackdown against mobile phone thefts in the city, officials from the Rachakonda Police Commissionerate in Hyderabad have recovered 1,130 stolen or lost mobile phones over the course of the last two months. The recovered mobile phones are valued at around Rs 3.5 crores. Rachakonda Commissioner of Police, Sudheer Babu, stated that a total of 3,694 mobile phones have been recovered from the Rachakonda Commissionerate area so far this year. TS TET Exams begin amid tight restrictions in RachakondaIn light of the Telangana Teachers Eligibility Test (TET), Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Sudheer Babu has announced that BNSS Section 163 restrictions will be enforced within a 200-metre radius of examination centres. The exams are scheduled to take place from today until the 30th of this month. Commissioner Babu advised that gatherings of more than four individuals are prohibited within the designated radius of the examination centres. However, exceptions will be made for police, army personnel, home guards, and flying squads on duty, as well as for funerals. These restrictions will remain in effect from this morning until 7 pm on the 30th, ensuring a secure and orderly environment for the candidates taking the exam.
