Pat Cummins Takes Unbelievable Caught-And-Bowled To Dismiss Keacy Carty In 2nd Test Vs West Indies
Australian skipper Pat Cummins produced a moment of brilliance in the second Test against the West Indies at St George's, Grenada, by pulling off one of the best caught-and-bowled dismissals in recent memory. His one-handed, diving catch to remove Keacy Carty on Day 2 has gone viral and left the cricketing world in awe. The Moment of Magic The incident occurred during the morning session of Day 2 when Cummins delivered a sharp-length ball that Carty inside-edged. The ball ballooned dangerously close to the pitch area, and before it could fall safely, Cummins sprinted in his follow-through and dived full stretch to his right. He plucked the ball out of the air with one hand, completing a reflex catch that few thought possible. Fans, commentators, and even rival players were stunned by the sheer athleticism of the effort. The dismissal left the West Indies reeling at a crucial point in the innings. Watch the Incredible Catch ___ - the world after THAT catch by Pat — SunRisers Hyderabad (@SunRisers) July 4, 2025 A Captain Leading by Example Pat Cummins has built a reputation as one of the best fast bowlers in the world, but moments like these show that his fielding is equally elite. The catch was part of a broader spell of dominance, as Cummins also took the wickets of Brandon King and Shai Hope, helping Australia seize control early. His actions were a turning point in the match, shifting the momentum just when the West Indies were looking to fight back. West Indies Poor Form West Indies endured another poor start in the second Test as their top-order struggles continued. Despite bowling out Australia for 286, after having them at 110/5, thanks to strong spells and tight fielding, the Caribbean side faltered with the bat. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite was dismissed for a duck, and John Campbell's promising 40-run knock ended too soon. Reduced to 64/3, West Indies once again face an uphill battle, reminiscent of their collapse in the first Test. Unless the middle order shows resilience, a 2-0 series defeat looks likely.

IND vs ENG: 'Gilly, ball ban gaya hai' - What Rishabh Pant-Shubman Gill chat caught on stump mic reveals
Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill have been solid after the wicket of Yashasvi Jaiswal (Image via X/@Rishabh_aaryan & SunRisers) A s the third session on Day 1 between India and England marches on, India's middle order looked in assured hands with the combined efforts of Rishabh Pant and captain Shubman Gill. Jaiswal, who has rapidly become England's new Test nemesis, notched up a sparkling 101 off 159 balls — his fifth Test ton and third against the English — to lay a solid platform for India. His dismissal, however, came at a crucial time: England captain Ben Stokes produced a timely breakthrough, trapping the left-hander and celebrating a much-needed scalp after plenty of work under the Leeds sun. In walked Pant at No. 5, and he wasted no time announcing his arrival. Facing Stokes for his second ball, Pant drilled a full delivery straight back past the England skipper for a scorching boundary. The shot drew an instant laugh from Stokes, who couldn't help but find laugh at Pant's aggressive greeting. Pant, however, appeared to show little to no reaction. — Sahil_Malhotra1 (@Sahil_Malhotra1) Since then, Pant has kept the energy high in the middle, regularly chatting with Gill between overs. In one such stump mic moment, Pant was heard telling Gill, ' Gilly, ball ban gaya hai. Banaya hai inhone abhi… ' - a remark hinting that England's bowlers have now got the ball to reverse swing, adding an extra layer of challenge on a pitch that still has good pace and carry. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Thị trường có dấu hiệu suy thoái không? Kamindu Mendis catch hangover continues onto Sunday: ‘When running didn't think would reach it…but have to have belief'
Superlatives are still raining in for Kamindu Mendis who took what could be a contender for the catch of the IPL 2025 to put the brakes on Dewald Brevis in Friday's SRH-CSK game. In a gleeful debrief of the catch that sent back Brevis threatening to explode more than he already had, the Sri Lankan ambidextrous cricketer said he wasn't quite sure he would reach the ball but he always had the belief and intent to go for every 50-50 chance. Chepauk, forever focussed on the centre square where MS Dhoni either bats or keeps, witnessed an outfield delight as Mendis pulled off his magical moment. His teammates revelled in the success that eventually helped the Hyderabad team win at Chennai HQ for the first time in many years. 'Magnificent' – was how Ishan Kishan described it to the official IPL website. Jaidev Unadkat put it best, saying, 'HOW….but wow.' Travis Head didn't think words could capture the capture where Mendis dived to his left after running, in the deep and saved a boundary in the process as Brevis was accelerating fiercely and putting SRH under the pump. 'Describing the catch won't do it justice,' Head said. Only a catch like that could've stopped that cameo from Brevis! 🤯 Kamindu Mendis, take a bow 🙇 #CSK 119/6 after 14 overs. Updates ▶ #TATAIPL | #CSKvSRH | @SunRisers — IndianPremierLeague (@IPL) April 25, 2025 The commentator's immediate words had been 'outstanding, which is his weak side we will never know!' Just as Mendis left everyone watching shaken and stirred and rolled his scalp on his palms in celebration. Describing his catch, Mendis said, 'When I'm running I thought I wouldn't even reach it. Somehow I tried and you have to have sone belief in you. So I went for it. Brevis was batting really well in these tough conditions so we needed a breakthrough. I just believed that I can take the catch. It gave us good energy in the field as well,' he said. Harshal Patel, who first started the weekend hangover that continues unto Sunday after KKR game got rained off, was candid after having bowled a fairly lousy delivery that Brevis swung at. 'I had zero expectations from that ball and was hoping it wouldn't go for a six. And it ended up being a wicket which was like ….I've seen a lot of great catches on the field but this was probably one of my top 3.' Always trust your instincts ft. Kamindu 💯 Kamindu Mendis | Harshal Patel | #PlayWithFire | #CSKvSRH | #TATAIPL2025 — SunRisers Hyderabad (@SunRisers) April 26, 2025 The catch was so stunning – like flying catches tend to be – it cast a phantom air-shadow. Of the four shadows cast in Twilight by the light towers, one was right when Mendis took off for his dive to left and a hazy shadow starting far from his feet. Mendis himself was all heart and commitment. 'Whenever I field at midwicket and long on, I'm anticipating (a wicket) every ball. You just need to anticipate (a wicket) every ball in T20. So you have to take 50-50, half chances. You have to have courage to go for the catch. These small things are a good contribution for the game,' he said.

Best catch of IPL 2025? Watch Kamindu Mendis's stunner to dismiss Dewald Brevis
Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis produced a sensational fielding effort during SunRisers Hyderabad's away game in Chennai, earning himself a spot among the contenders for the best catch of IPL 2025. On Friday, April 25, Mendis left the Chennai crowd in awe by dismissing Dewald Brevis, who was in scintillating form on his debut for the Chennai Super Kings, with a stunning catch at the long-off Mendis covered significant ground, sprinting from long-on, and leapt full-length to intercept a powerful, flat shot from Brevis that was heading towards the cover region. He timed his jump perfectly, opting for a two-handed catch rather than one. Mendis safely held onto the ball, ensuring it never touched the ground as he rolled over in the process. He proudly displayed the ball in his palm, confirming the catch was clean. | CSK vs SRH - Coverage |The remarkable moment came in the 13th over, bowled by Harshal Patel, who delivered a fuller length ball outside the off-stump. Brevis, visibly stunned, checked with the umpire to confirm the catch had been taken cleanly. The on-field umpire immediately confirmed the catch, and the SunRisers fans erupted in celebration as Brevis, who had looked set for a big score, was the time of the catch, the Super Kings were 118 for 6 in the 14th over, as their batting line-up struggled to find rhythm once again in IPL 2025. Shivam Dube had been dismissed for 12 in the following over, and MS Dhoni came in to bat at the 14th addition to Brevis, 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre had briefly sparked some hope with a 19-ball 30 during the powerplay. However, the likes of Sam Curran (9 off 10), who batted at No. 3, and Ravindra Jadeja (21 off 17) failed to make a significant impact. MS Dhoni also struggled, departing for just 6 off 10 balls in the 17th over, losing his wicket updated on IPL 2025 with India Today!
