NCP will strengthen its base in Nashik city, says party's state chief Tatkare
Nashik: Sunil Tatkare, the state president of NCP, announced on Saturday that the party plans to increase its representation in the Nashik Municipal Corporation during the upcoming local elections, despite enjoying significant support from rural areas in the district. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Tatkare held discussions in Nashik with party functionaries, workers, and politicians from both rural and urban regions. He evaluated the party's current status, addressed the demands of party workers, and outlined the necessary steps for the elections. "There are demands from the party workers for better representation in the city. We have, therefore, decided to increase the party base in the city. Food and civil supplies minister , who has been representing the sentiments of the people from Nashik city and the district, will also increase his involvement in Nashik city. He will meet our old friends working at various levels to build a proper base for the party," Tatkare said. Regarding contesting the elections as Mahayuti, Tatkare said, "After the Vidhan Sabha elections in 2014, when we were watching the results at Silver Oak, Prafull Patel and I discussed and suggested we join the NDA at once. This was discussed on several occasions — in 2014, 2017, 2019, and 2022 — but the matter got delayed due to some issues. Without compromising on our ideology, we have joined NDA, and we are part of it. " He added, "There are demands from a few quarters about contesting the elections as independents. The seniors of the three Mahayuti parties will, however, take the final call in some individual cases, while generally, we will be contesting as Mahayuti." When questioned whether NCP workers were concerned about Shiv Sena and BJP city units attracting members and workers from other parties, Tatkare said, "Every party has the right to grow and, hence, they are doing their job. As far as NCP goes, we are also strengthening our base."
